Looks like the usual people turned up for a photo op at Manchester pride, though to be fare there were 11 not 8 as usual.

Carry on protesting because its a good reminder of the actual numbers if that is all the people that can protest the second biggest pride in the UK.

Plenty of us agree with them. Brave women. I am neither lesbian nor near Manchester but a great big well done and thank you to them.

LangCleg · 24/08/2019 18:54

Wonderful, wonderful women. You know: women.

I have nothing but admiration.

And I completely understand, due to the vile intimidation, weaponising of authorities, why the vast majority self exclude.

I know exactly don't know what you were trying to achieve with this thread, Bespin - but I think it's turned out pretty well.

sanluca · 24/08/2019 18:54

So I got deleted for saying someon's tone was really nasty? That is reason enough to delete? Ok. Lesson learned. Do not call out nasty behaviour. Got it, MNHQ.

sackrifice · 24/08/2019 18:55

Genuine question for Bespin and Sue. What do you suggest same sex attracted women call themselves? If for instance they're on a dating site and want to indicate that people with penises approaching them are wasting everyone's time, how should they describe this situation, now that you and your fellow activists have taken the word lesbian from them?

women are not allowed an opinion silly...

fiftyandfat · 24/08/2019 18:58

Oh dear.
It is the weekend, so the moderating rules will be different.

sanluca · 24/08/2019 19:00

I got that. Goady opening posts making fun of people -fine. Saying to someone to stop being so nasty - deletion. Or was it I said OP would be called a certain word if they met certain characteristics?

morningtoncrescent62 · 24/08/2019 19:03

Congratulations those brave women.

When will Pride be over? Am I the only person getting a bit fed up of corporate rainbows everywhere? [Signed: a lesbian who stopped going to Pride many years ago when it became too male and too commercialised for me]

Hamster00 · 24/08/2019 19:03

Lang - Wonderful, wonderful women. You know: women

I think Bespin might be having issues with the definition of women and lesbians. Something I've noticed from a few posts. Confused

NotTerfNorCis · 24/08/2019 19:04

Bespin thinks we're 'strangely quite ' about the protest, hence the thread. Grin

Strangely quite what? Pleased? Proud? Inspired?

testing987654321 · 24/08/2019 19:07

Fascinating thread again.

Just doing a thought experiment. I am just trying to think of something I disagree with, say Brexit. Imagine there was a massive pro-remain march and a dozen pro-Brexit people protested it. How much time would I spend on a predominantly pro-Brexit forum drawing attention to this?

I think the answer would be none, because I would regard it as irrelevant.

Now, why is this different? Why can't those women just be ignored?

FlibbertyGiblets · 24/08/2019 19:11

I too am strangely quite admiring and applaud the women standing. HTH. Smile

💜💚💜

Still wondering what women with vulvas who want to have sex exclusively with other women who have vulvas are meant to call themselves.

Oh, I don’t think women are supposed to be able to define themselves. That would be most presumptuous. No, men get to decide what we are called, and even if we were to come up with a new word to denote what “lesbian” previously signified, you can bet your life that males would be eroding those boundaries faster than you can say “female penis”.

DetroitOtherday · 24/08/2019 19:26

How brave of those women to go to pride, when pride is now exclusively for those who love dick and people who own them, or were born with dick and had it removed or inverted.

It should be called male pride.

A surgically created hole is not a vagina. And a clit is not a trimmed down penis head.

How come everyone gets a choice who they fuck, except women who love women?

TheCuddlyBear · 24/08/2019 19:31

Hello. I'm just a humble transvestite but who does not claim identification as a woman. I am content to be a man and deplore this reckless and selfish bid for self ID that many of my compatriots are pushing for. They shame me. And I wish to assure you I would certainly not use ladies' loos.

placemats · 24/08/2019 19:32

Well done those women, I've met them all.

It has come to pass that we should describe them as brave and courageous. In the 21st century. Angry

placemats · 24/08/2019 19:34

Brave and courageous for speaking the truth that is and displaying a banner.

Ereshkigal · 24/08/2019 19:35

Thanks for starting this thread Bespin! Fantastic to see these brave warrior women in action.

BustedWench · 24/08/2019 19:35

Big Joss is talking about them

Big Tara is talking about them

Big Donna is talking about them

Big Mallory is talking about them

These women, although few in number, have made massive waves! BRAVO BRAVE WOMEN 👌👌

placemats · 24/08/2019 19:35

Oh and I'm going to use this thread to quietly tell you that two of my facebook friends liked my gender critical post. And they got it!

Melroses · 24/08/2019 19:38

Thanks for putting that photo up. I have been following them on twitter today and this gives me a chance to say how awesome they all are. xx

TinselAngel · 24/08/2019 19:40

Hello. I'm just a humble transvestite

I used to be married to one of those. He's a stunning and brave trans woman now. Give it time.
