I have to say, Errol, I feel the same.

I have the DH and the DSons, I sometimes think women's rights are seriously impacted by women having sons - because we do just love them so very much. I adore my sons. Women put their needs aside for all their children - but patriarchal society puts everyone's needs aside for it's sons.

70sWitch · 23/08/2019 23:42

I always thought English badgers were quite timid. But I freely admit my knowledge of British wildlife is mainly based on The Wind in The Willows. Grin

Hedgehogs though, you have to keep your eye on those little beggars. Surprisingly fast too.

70sWitch · 23/08/2019 23:48

The all women commune has long been a dream of mine.
I only have daughters so I'm not sure how much that affects my viewpoint. Even though I AM married now. He's a good guy but sometimes I still think about it.

Maybe one day... It may well be what I really need to heal.

redredrobins · 23/08/2019 23:53

I think the scariest US creatures are fisher cats, the name is cute but they are vicious things. Friend in Vermont was scared for her smallish dog because he was chased by fisher cats in their very large, wooded garden.

zebrasdontwearbras · 23/08/2019 23:55

I have 2 Ds, and 1 Dd - I really see it. My DD is only 11 and I already see her being affected by female socialisation, despite what I have tried to teach her. Female socialisation is so powerful, and so much more than just a parent can teach.

DetroitOtherday · 24/08/2019 00:03

It would be great to set up an all female commune. Possibly it's the only way women can truly be safe and breathe.

I reckon it could even be profitable, if crafts and women's skills could be utilized.

Oh Fisher cats are like huge martens! Never seen any. I did see a mink in the rivers near here, which was cool.

It's not that I don't like men. I just don't feel able to live with them. After the men's rights activism, and this trans issue, plus life experience, I don't feel able to judge who is safe, and who is not.

Detroit - someone else who appreciates Neil Young! I haven't caught up yet so, for the moment, I'm just here to validate your appreciation of the music.

DetroitOtherday · 24/08/2019 02:01

Neil Young, Joni...and right now my Love Live picture vinyl. Great version of Andmoreagain on it.

I ticked another smaller shelter off the list. Same deal.

What trans person volunteers for a women's shelter, insinuating themselves into a space they don't need to use, and put their so called right to volunteer over women's rights to dick free spaces. Not a kind, gentle empathic one.

A twat, that's who. I love that you have syarted a thread, you've been in my thoughts.

Hedgehogs though, you have to keep your eye on those little beggars. Surprisingly fast too

And really bloody loud - I thought someone was breaking into the house last time they visited!

bettybeans · 24/08/2019 04:53

Detroit, I was listening to some music tonight in a club and I thought of you. You're genuinely in my thoughts. I hope you're safe, and if you need help please let us know.

You're not alone.

Squirrels can be noisy, they wake me up with their squeaking and chattering. Right now its the dulcet tones of drunk people.

I've never heard a hedgehog talk!

It's very dark out here, but at least I'm near the bathroom.

I really appreciate being able to vent about the situation with the shelters. I was getting quite frustrated, and felt very alone.

Now I'm a bit more able to make calls and not end up showing my irritation so much.

Fabulous! Thank you for showing me that. I hope you had fun! It's been years since I went to a music club. I half considered playing at an open mic night, I never had the guts when I was young.

I've got the guitar out and have been quietly playing "I see my light come shining from the east side from the west, any day now, any way now I shall be released". Noone can hear, it's party in the forest night.

Knowing that I'm not alone in needing a female space means the world to me.

Bit cold tonight. I let the fire go out and can't be bothered to fix it.

I wish I could tell someone about my precious person, I can't. It's too raw to even talk about. I try not to think about it, otherwise I don't cope I had hopes and dreams for this person. But their gift to me was this. I'll never ever go back, even if I never sleep in a house again. Even if I lose my pension. Never. Mr Charming doesn't get to ever see me again.

I've woken early and can't get back to sleep again and wanted to send you some good vibes, Detroit. Also, I love your taste in music!

GirlDownUnder · 24/08/2019 07:39

Hey Detroit you did it, started your own thread Brew

You have time and space to tell us what you want of your story, however you want to, when you want to.

And shout and get cross and vent when shit goes sideways.

I’ll go look for some pics I took of our wild life and post in a bit.

StopThePlanet · 24/08/2019 07:52

Hey Detroit!

Up late here... binge re-reading a book.

Been thinking about you - glad you are engaging.

I spent most of the day/evening sharing music with my mom to help heal her heart.

Glad to hear music is getting you through.

Sleep tight dear friends - the lot of you from every corner/nook/cranny of our beautiful earth.

StopThePlanet · 24/08/2019 07:56

Oh, and btw - got chased to the car today by a momma peacock with her beau roaming around showing off his plumage. The babies were in tow - eyes fixated on momma while the male just strutted around thinking the world centers around him. It was good visual therapy for my mom though. Grin

GirlDownUnder · 24/08/2019 08:03

Luckily for you lot I can only add 6 pics a day These are all taken by me, and are near where I live. The dingos, and kangaroos are in a wild life park and are rescue animals.

I once knew a goat called Football. It was an evil, evil bastard.

How about we call our wished-for commune Terfton Abbey?

Good British morning to you, Detroit!
