Threatening, disturbed, misogynistic, power hungry men in dresses being in the toilet.

Exactly. They are a different breed from 'trannys' from back in the day, who I personally would have had no problem sharing facilities with.

2BthatUnnoticed · 09/08/2019 01:34

Please read this... which represents the more “reasonable” end of the TW spectrum Shock

They have no idea of the lived reality of women. None.

AnotherAdultHumanFemale · 09/08/2019 01:35

Yes, I don't mean old school transexuals, who have quietly gone about their lives for years. They don't brandish weapons in toilets and threaten women.

AnotherAdultHumanFemale · 09/08/2019 01:40

Thanks OccasionalKite I did read most of that and agree it is encouraging.

What I find concerning is, many places seem to be turning women's toilets into 'unisex' or gender neutral or whatever they want to call it already? I don't see how this is legal, since women currently have the right to single sex toilets? All it seems to take is a couple of activists to convince the management their toilets are bad and wrong and they scrap the women's toilets. It doesn't make any sense.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 09/08/2019 01:41

@AnotherAdultHumanFemale I always feel that I have to make that distinction when talking about this issue.

I have several drag queen friends on Facebook, who are old friends of the family. I also have many gay friends on Facebook. I so want to share some of Posie Parker's posts, but they just wouldn't understand. My aunty is gay (she's in her seventies) and she posted support for trans people around the time of the last Pride march. I really wanted to say, "Aunty, they hate people like you. Please educate yourself about these people."

Is anyone else in this position? How do you handle it?

AnotherAdultHumanFemale · 09/08/2019 01:54

Could you have a discussion with your aunty about it, do you think she would understand the issues? It's worth a try. I think it's best not to try to talk to people about stuff like this on facebook though because it can get ugly fast as people jump to conclusions. You might even find your drag queen friends are not in favour of self ID. Quite a lot of gay men (and I think one drag queen comedian) have shared gender critical views on this topic. They don't all believe it.

Gingerkittykat · 09/08/2019 01:56

What country is that person posting from?

There's pretty tough penalties for carrying knives in public in the UK.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 09/08/2019 02:03

The thing is, it all sounds so implausible. Things like 'erasure of lesbians', 'lady penis', 'cotton ceiling', 'young lesbians pressured into having sex with men at the risk of being called Terfs'... it's all just mental frankly.

Honestly, when I first starting hearing about these things I thought you lot had lost your marbles. But now the more I learn, the more terrified I am. At some point every single day I remember what's going on and can't believe it. It's like I'm learning about it all for the first time.

I am scared of trying to educate people about what's going on, because I don't think they'd believe me Sad.

2BthatUnnoticed · 09/08/2019 02:12

Note - this is just the first woman he’s freaked out at BAH. Do they post each time he scares women in a female space?

If you want to be seen as a woman, RESPECT women. Don’t don’t use their spaces before you even start transitioning (!!).

Women and children are only very rarely sexually assaulted or killed by men they don’t know. But public bathrooms are one of the higher-risk spaces for it to happen, of course women are cautious!

Person looks like a scary dude in a dress.

DanaPhoenix · 09/08/2019 02:12

Not threatening at all. No. Nope.
They can't help exposing themselves (not that way, well on second thoughts it is more than likely iykwim) it now seems like they are caught in some bizarre competition of who can be the most threatening/creepy on the internet. Entirely of their own making of course. Drowning in their own narcissism, to stupid to see how it looks to the public at large.

Hold strong and puuullllll.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 09/08/2019 02:16

That picture is scary. He looks so damn pleased with himself. What kind of sick fuck gets pleasure out of scaring someone? All that poor woman wanted was to go to the loo.

I am so angry about this. Who is this person? I am going to join Twitter to tell him exactly what I think of him.

DanaPhoenix · 09/08/2019 02:38

I am going to join Twitter to tell him exactly what I think of him.

You'll probably achieve the fastest ban ever for misgendering...

Seriously though I understand how you feel. I truly do, I've been tempted so many times to do the same myself. Twitter is a cesspool it won't change, women are frequently banned and abused while pedos and other assorted weirdos have free reign. If you are going to I'd suggest ensuring excellent privacy settings including signing up with a one off email..vpn etc a lot of TRA's are in tech and are not above doxxing. Also as a new account you will probably get a pile on of abuse, so perhaps follow lots of GC people and have some follow you back...

Although if you just want to go out in a blaze of glory to vent....go for it just watch your privacy.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 09/08/2019 02:43

@DanaPhoenix Thank you for that sound advice. I read the responses to his tweet and someone said, "they all have the same smirk." It's true, they do.

DanaPhoenix · 09/08/2019 02:50

You're most welcome.

Yes that smirk is called a duper's delight... and yes you will see it frequently. They can control their pronouns but not their facial expressions.

powershowerforanhour · 09/08/2019 03:16

When I see that facial expression (Lily Madigan does a cracking version of it) the Kath & Kim line always pops into my head:
"Look at moooi look at moooi look at mooooooi".

This tweet has a link to a kiwi farms page about them: twitter.com/valdobson/status/1159513386729771009?s=21

Someone’s asked Booz to comment (note, he is not employed by them - not a fox). Let’s see if they’re game to.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 09/08/2019 05:20

Well, that didn't last long. I literally joined Twitter a couple of hours ago, I haven't even posted and I've been BANNED.

nettie434 · 09/08/2019 05:30

Perhaps they think you are a previously banned poster?? You can still look at tweets via your browser rather than the app but that is very weird.

Boom25 · 09/08/2019 05:31

And the woman left because she saw a brave and stunning transwoman in the bathroom and was such a terf, not because she walked in and saw someone standing in the middle of the bathroom brandishing a weapon. Aye right. So little self awareness ...

AncientLights · 09/08/2019 05:55

I know it's not something we should really get too involved in, but can anyone understand the Twitter justification for this shocking behaviour posted above by 2bthatUnnoticed at 01.34? I saw that and similar from others and just don't begin to comprehend the point this sicko was apparently trying to make.

Does anyone? Is it an indication of the alternative universe they inhabit?

nettie434 · 09/08/2019 06:09

I know it's not something we should really get too involved in, but can anyone understand the Twitter justification for this shocking behaviour

Nope! I am hoping that the person did not see the fencing foil (or whatever they are called) in the photo. Much more likely it was that which made the woman leave the lavatories. When I first saw the title of this thread I thought it was a metaphorical sword, not a real one Shock

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 09/08/2019 06:17

Spotted this which made me laugh out loud. Seems....unlikely 🤔

Adrienne seems lovely Confused

It’s that age old issue of jumping straight to “I identify as...” without a moment’s thought for “I identify with”.

Zero thought for women, just aggressive entitlement.
