I've been on Twitter again and seen another interesting thread but I'm not going to post it here so it can be picked apart.

Instead, although I know it's been asked before, to those of you who believe someone can be a woman without biologically being one I ask the question: What do you think should be put in place in law to provide safe spaces for trans people and women and what are you doing about it?

That doesnt change the fact a man coming on to FWR saying he wants to "educate" us is condescending and mysoginist.

So someone saying they want to educate us is misogynistic yet yesterday when a poster called some women "cow bag bitches" many posters didn't consider it misogynistic because the poster who said it appeared to be GC. You simply could not make this up. Honestly, the hypocrisy on here is astounding.

Doyoumind · 01/08/2019 22:39

To be fair, only mewk has said TWAW on this thread. I accept we're not going to get a definition from some posters and I don't think it's worth pushing for it but I would be really keen for mewk to come back and give us his take on it.

I hear you, augustian

Doyoumind · 01/08/2019 22:41

God, it's physically painful. I'm not staying up late for this again.

petrol

According to jelly beans chart im a man;

Ive always worked in STEM
I dont wear make up and rarely brush my hair - just run my fingers through it
I wear trousers and flat shoes, i cant walk in heels
Have always had more male friends than female - mostly due to career and interests

I could if i wanted change any of the above if i was so inclined.

The way i am a woman is my biology, which is what it is and cant be changed.

DecomposingComposers · 01/08/2019 22:43

OldCrone

It really is hard to explain.

It appears very likely that there's more to the differences between men and women than purely biological physical differences.

Maybe the difference in crime rates attributable to trans women is proof that there are differences between them and natal men or maybe their criminal behaviour is a result of the difficulties that growing up trans has caused or maybe a mixture of the 2 or none of the above?

Clearly much more research is needed into this.

DecomposingComposers · 01/08/2019 22:45

Augustian

I completely agree and it is so refreshing to hear alternative views voiced on here.

PetrolBastard · 01/08/2019 22:48

Why start a thread about it if you find it so painful?

OldCrone · 01/08/2019 22:49

Well if you can't even try to understand or even empathise at a push from this thread then there's no hope really.

What on earth are you talking about, roses?

FormerMediocreMale · 01/08/2019 22:50

A woman calling other women "cow bag bitches* i would say is unpleasant and unneccessary but not misogyny. A man coming onto a feminist board to "educate" to me is misogyny. You obviously disagree which is your right.

Who the fuck are you to say - in response to a comment insultine others confused

Nothing in my post to Mewk was an insult - read it again without adding inflection that isn't there. Again, until today I have never engaged you.

How is that an insult then?

It is absolutely an insult in my culture - it equates to you are beneath me and I reject your validity. It is considered incredibly rude and likened to telling someone to either "fuck off" or "fuck you". How is that not a personal attack? I don't live in your bubble I can't read your mind and I don't add inflection to your words - I only read what's there.

Might have been said a bit aggressively yes, I'll take that

Okay, so you take aggression that you have against others out on people that you've never met or spoken to before, I see you.

Doyoumind · 01/08/2019 22:51

With crimes by TW being recorded as crimes by women, we are going to struggle to research anything.

Good point, I mean why ask if you find it so hard or don't really want to listen?
It is hard and difficult subject. That's the whole point.
Which is presumably why it all keeps going circular.

Doyoumind · 01/08/2019 22:53

Petrol the pain was in reference to the dragging up of 'cowbag bitches' which was more than adequately covered in the previous thread.

OldCrone · 01/08/2019 22:54

You already have that information available to you from living your own life.

Yes, I do. Here's what I posted earlier.

Can you give some specific examples of ways in which living as a man is different from living as a woman? For example, if I were to swap lifestyles with my husband, the only change I would have to make would be to learn to use his chainsaw. But some women already use chainsaws, so that wouldn't mean I was 'living as a man' any more than I am now.

I honestly can't think of any differences between living as a man and living as a woman apart from biological stuff like peeing standing up and pregnancy.

My conclusion: Living as a man is exactly the same as living as a woman, except men can pee standing up, and women can get pregnant. So how can a man live as a woman or vice versa?

Whatthingsexactly · 01/08/2019 22:54

Augustian yes, absolutely. The attacks can be very personal.

Exactly, and i can use a chainsaw!

PetrolBastard · 01/08/2019 22:59

I can't agree from my perspective that the differences are that simplistic.

It's possible that some of the 'transgender' prisoners are taking the piss, though, isn't it?

And I should have said (in the post about prisoners):

So male transgender prisoners commit sexual offences at a much higher rate than other male prisoners.

PetrolBastard · 01/08/2019 23:01

It's being brought up because it was a really clear example of the type of abuse that women face on the FWR board regularly in relation to this particular matter. That abuse is the reason we don't debate this issue with you, not because we don't have answers or can't explain ourselves.

FormerMediocreMale · 01/08/2019 23:01

Can you explain your perspective then please petrol.

RosesAndRaindrops · 01/08/2019 23:05

True that

PetrolBastard · 01/08/2019 23:07

Like I've said, I don't see the purpose in discussing it.

OldCrone · 01/08/2019 23:07

I haven't been abusive to anyone. I have politely asked questions. But you still don't have any answers.

FormerMediocreMale · 01/08/2019 23:08

I appreciate that some comments are unpleasant and unhelpful. However compare to GC women being arrested, losing jobs, taking huge amounts of verbal abuse and pile ons. FWR is one of the gew places we can express our opinions. However most of us do want to engage and debate, we want to find solutions.
