Just tried to find drEM and glosswitch. Neither account exists.

Kinesis made some bad comments on prostitution and has since apologised for them. My understanding is that Dr Em was upset by the willingness of some GC feminists to accept and come to the defence of some trans women, trutrans if you will, when she feels all feminists should stick together and no males should be invited into single sex spaces. Dr Em is an important rad fem voice and I hope she will be back in the near future.

Dr Em is bloody right about that. I find the fawning over certain people uncomfortable when it's very obvious they're enjoying the specialness and the attention. While actually not caring about the abusive gaslighting they're inflicting on women and kids.

Kinesis didn't only make some pretty awful tweets about prostitution. Kinesis is narcissistic.

Kinesis and his followers did more than that. Kinesis said women had privilege because all we had to do to get out of prostitution was to get pregnant and the government would house clothe and feed us, all privileges tw didn't have.

Kinesises faithful followers on the other hand insulted em and one went as far as saying "she's asking for it" and then tried to play the victim when she was pulled in it. A feminist saying a woman's asking for it.
Kin came back as if nothing had happened and instead of moving in started harassing em again and again and trying to get around the block. Kin has slandered and harassed em and encouraged his followers to do so as well.

That's why Kinesis apologised for a spectacularly bad take in a conversation on prostitution. Isn't it enough for someone to change their mind, say they were wrong and apologise?

Even if Kinesis's claims to have changed their mind no woman, or any man for that matter, is forced to be their friend. (I doubt it, Kinesis has disgusting views about women). Did you not see, Dr. Em essentially said we should leave each other alone and swim in different lanes and Kinesis hounded her. The public 'apology' was just Kin trying to force himself back in her world, Em didn't unblock him so Kin and his followers started slandering her online. Its been like watching when a woman tries to escape an abusive relationship. Kin can't take no for an answer.

You've also missed that kinesis has said many more misogynistic things, not just about prostitution. I have no idea why they engender sympathy for their position. Their repetitive cycle of nastiness, flounces, apologies is so obvious.

With Dr. Em leaving, is it any wonder? The woman works on predatory men and has to witness the fawning over Debbie Hayton by women. Hayton who self-id's into single sex spaces, compels the speech of their students, has subjected their wife to a change in their reality. I get the impression that Hayton has made themselves above criticism in certain circles and it mus be intolerable.

Agreed Boudicca. Thanks to women like Stuntnun we can enjoy a feminist movement with Kin's and Debbie's voices instead of Em's. I know which voice I prefer, and it has never been and is not male.

I wonder why Dr Em unblocked Kinesis then? From what I saw a couple of weeks ago she didn't want to have anything to do with Kinesis again. Hopefully Dr Em is just taking a break and will be back.

Sorry if I came across that way. I just hate the whole thing of someone saying something stupid on Twitter and they are forever a pariah. Like James Gunn losing his job because of bad jokes he made years ago. It's not enough to say you're wrong and apologise.

I'm not saying anyone should forgive Kinesis. I was merely pointing out that Kinesis tweeted some awful comments and then apologised - whereas it's being made out that Kinesis still holds those views on prostitution.

I think boatyardblues meant that kenesis was mistaken thinking that having a baby gets you sufficient money and suitable housing. If only.

Well I certainly saw some stuff Kinesis tweeted about prostitution, and unwanted pregnancy that sounded highly misogynistic and dangerously close to accusing women with unwanted pregnancies as having some sort of privilege.

The feminist movement can do quite well without that stuff, thank you.

Why are you so determined to force women to accept men they say they don't want to be around, so what if he apologised for those remarks, what about all the others? Plus Kinesis isnt very nice and has nothing of value to add to the conversation.

From what I see online the main issue was Debbie Hayton and Hayton's lies and abuse of women's trust and boundaries. This behaviour all being defended by men, trans and some women.

Katniss you're reading things into my posts that just aren't there. I only posted initially to say that Kinesis had since apologised for the tweet screenshotted earlier on the thread, and to express my hope that Dr Em would come back to Twitter as she's such an important voice. I never said anyone had to forgive Kinesis and I never even mentioned Hayton.

I'm just reading what your saying StuntNun. I brought up Hayton in a new paragraph, are we not allowed to bring anything up unless you have spoken about it?

Whenever I see someone saying something horrible, then apologising (but you know they still believe whatever it was they said ) I'm reminded of this.

A general comment, not about any particular incident or individual discussed here. Always helpful to think not of individual people or individual comments but of patterns of behaviour.

This is something Dr Em always does and why her voice is so indispensable. I truly hope she soon returns to the public Twitter sphere. I absolutely love her. I don't think any woman should ever be castigated for robustly asserting boundaries.

LangCleg great point. I think Dr Em stands by what she says and has set boundaries and stood by them. No wonder she has to take a break when she is chastised for it.
