I don't have confirmation but I did read in an article that his parents have referred to him being on the autistic spectrum.

He certainly uses phrases that I find echolaic (ie he's copying phrases he's heard but not necessarily fully understanding them, a common autistic trait in children) and this was what struck me the first time I saw him.

So there are added issues in that he is potentially extra vulnerable to adult manipulation and abuse as he may find social interaction and communication nuance and boundaries extra hard to understand, especially if those boundaries have been blurred for him already.

Desmond’s Converse shoes publicity image bothered me - the corset top thingy he’s wearing is clearly much too big - it emphasises his smallness, and that he doesn’t fit in the adult world.

I'm not going on that site any more. I'm genuinely worried and sickened.

They've tagged Melissa Hines in that as well - she's a Cambridge academic who worked with Vicky Pasterski (expert witness for the trans foster child and Ms Jay cases) on most of the "prenatal androgen exposure/ gender identity disorder" research that I've found. I dug it all up after the NAS "gender ID develops in the womb" conference. It seems to be what the NHS is basing it's current "causes of gender dysphoria" section on. I couldn't find much else about Hines, except that she definitely believes that gender roles are innate. I wonder why she's been tagged?
