Anyone come across this?

I've spotted a number of my brilliant, supportive, liberal, respected colleagues on there Sad

One of the comments is a prospective student threatening to "drop kick" TERFs at their institution Sad

It’s often observed that blue hair is popular with the authoritarian youth.

I’m too old to understand Grin

DirtyDennis · 18/03/2019 17:54

@hipsterfun Shock Oh no, I've definitely been blue before. But I'm getting a pink job done in a couple of weeks so that'll balance it out Grin

My old history and psychology lecturers were proper old achool feminists. I’d love to have seen their take on all this crap - they really would cut these idiots down to size.

DirtyDennis · 18/03/2019 17:55

Clearly I am also too old to understand. I just pick the nicest looking colour on the hairdressers' colour chart. I think my hairdresser is also too old to understand the identity politics which may be read into my choice. Oh dear!

One of my aunties had a blue rinse and I used to want hair like hers when I grew up. I'm quite sad to see it appropriated in this way.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/03/2019 17:58

Yes but does blue haired auntie dress like a demented anime character and wear a large button badge proclaiming ‘they, them’?

DirtyDennis · 18/03/2019 17:59

@Floisme Let's start a grassroots campaign/movement to reclaim blue hair. I love a good blue rinse Grin

Floisme · 18/03/2019 18:00

Blue auntie is long in the ground sadly but she'd have probably hit them on the legs with her brolly.
(I would not, of course, have approved.)

Floisme · 18/03/2019 18:02

You're on, Dennis

From a brief glance on behalf of my DCs, Oxford or London it is then. The list is handy after all. Sciences I think. They're going to have to knuckle down! Grin

I got a message from Facebook saying that the page didn’t violate their community guidelines but they could see that it could be offensive and harassing, so they removed it.

Which is a better response than I was expecting from FB.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 18/03/2019 19:25

Amari Dare is LGBTQ+ Equality rep at Bath Spa.

Vango · 18/03/2019 19:37

Weeping the link in the OP takes me here. Couldn't face scrolling through all the dross but it's still there?

I was told by someone on here who did a feminism module in the Sociology dept at my university that second-wave feminist texts were banned by her tutor, and that they had full-on TRA lectures about the female penis.

Well they are fucking thick students accepting the idea of 'banned texts' and not causing a riot about the mere concept of banned texts.

They all deserve to fail to pass their degree for failing to question and challenge this alone.

Every single one on that course.

Floisme · 18/03/2019 20:17

Grin at that Facebook double agent on Vango's link.
Sorry everyone, I know doxxing is no joke and nor is someone trying to get you sacked - hell I'm careful what I say at work too. But I just cannot take these bumptious Austin Powers lookalikes seriously. I'll go now.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 18/03/2019 20:18

The page is still there, but they’ve removed that post (I thought initially the whole page had gone).

RepealTheGRA · 18/03/2019 20:23

Harriet Harman couldn’t recognise PIE as a bad idea. You honestly expect her to speak out about this?

DonaldTwain · 18/03/2019 20:27

The only thing threatening that little gobshite’s safety is the ready mixed concrete between her fucking ears. I mean I know it’s only bath spa but how are these people being admitted to a higher education institution of any kind?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/03/2019 20:27

It’s true. I remember this when I was a little kid and although I didn’t really understand what was going on I knew it was A Bad Thing.

I also knew that Jimmy Saville was creepy and the type of man my mum warned me about - I wasn’t sure what but never wrote to Jim’ll Fix It in case I got picked and had to meet him. I got bad vibes from Rolf Harris too.

If a wee immature girl from a small town ‘got it’ why didn’t he supposed sensible adults?

wigglybeezer · 18/03/2019 20:41

@worstofbothworlds, I get the feeling I offended you? Worded my post badly.

Oldermum156 · 18/03/2019 20:42

It's like Nixon's enemies list!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 18/03/2019 20:49

'What is your name?' I am putting it on my list.'
'Don't tell him Pike!'

GCAcademic · 18/03/2019 20:52

Well on the bright side, all those priest holes and secret tunnels built in the UK last time heresy was a crime are going to be useful aren't they?

I bloody well hope not. I went to University (and never left) after fourteen years of Catholic education drove me to atheism and a quest for rational knowledge. It would be beyond ironic if my academic career ended up in a fucking priest hole.

worstofbothworlds · 18/03/2019 21:07

No worries wiggly, but bear in mind that universities are not a unitary thing.
Most other scientists are not aware that being GC is a thing, preferring to call it "common sense".

wigglybeezer · 18/03/2019 21:58

I thought that was so obvious I didn't need to say it! I actually taught undergraduates part time at an art college pre kids, I shudder to think what would happen to anyone who stuck their head above the parapet there these days ( although it was remarkably sexist in the 80s, early 90s).
