Anyone come across this?

I've spotted a number of my brilliant, supportive, liberal, respected colleagues on there

One of the comments is a prospective student threatening to "drop kick" TERFs at their institution

BigGoat - I'm also not on the list, despite having signed stuff. I can imagine that Sociology is a difficult field to work in at the moment. I was told by someone on here who did a feminism module in the Sociology dept at my university that second-wave feminist texts were banned by her tutor, and that they had full-on TRA lectures about the female penis. In my field, people are pretending this isn't happening, despite the fact that biological reality is pretty intrinsic to what we study. The cowardice is sickening and is emboldening the extremists.

GCAcademic I saw that discussion in the FB group of women academics. The sanctimonious tone was preposterous.

I think it is very telling that only a handful of people took part, and I do wonder just how many are saying nothing because they know what response they will get. Shamefully, I am one of them as I am early career.

I cling to the hope that more and more will speak up, as the tide keeps turning, although it seems likely that academia will be the last group to engage in critical thinking!

'I also plan to work closely with the Mental Health Society and Feminism Society so that all LGBTQIA+ students will be able to receive the mental support they need while not worrying about TERFs (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists) posing a threat to their safety'

They really can't distinguish fantasy from reality, these kids... (where's a cry laugh emoji when you need one??)

I suppose building up an imaginary scary enemy, the terrifying TERF, enables you to act all tough without any danger whatsoever you will have to take any physical risks. What fun!

I'd struggle to resist replying with 'Oh dear child, when you go out late at night, when have you ever genuinely felt threatened by a woman, feminist or otherwise?'

I have to laugh at the idea of us terfs posing a physical threat to LGBTQIA+ students.

They're just so earnest and blind. I'd worry about risk perception if that were my daughter.

Dirty thank you for posting archive.... deeply chilling that this is deemed acceptable on any level.... Also scarey that they are a student of anything with the leap in logic from expressing what are viewed as transphobic views to can only have been caused by "malicious hatred"

What about the feminists who feel threatened by the TRAs? Seeing as it always seem to be the TRAs who are violent, aggressive and promote such behaviour! Not feminists.

Good Lord. They do need to realise that they are more likely to suffer from typing-related RSI at uni than being physically threatened by TERFs.

I don’t suppose any of these people are really frightened of feminists, are they? It’s just that pretending to feel frightened is somehow now considered admirable. In my day, you pretended not to feel frightened even if you were.

I too will use the list with dd when she starts thinking about her degree choices next year.

For a bunch of aggressive, argumentative, self rigeous arses they certainly are squirrely ninnies when it comes to things like, oh I don’t know, biology and truth?

It allows you to act big and tough, heroic defender of the oppressed, without putting yourself on the line one tiny bit.

Come on Amari, if you have Googled yourself and arrived here. Admit it. We are the Mumsnet terfs - we are as scary as it gets. We are a bunch of mostly middle aged women. We are highly educated, formidably intelligent with an impressive set of professional skills and experiences between us, but we do not pose a physical risk to any trans people whatsoever.
You can carry on pretending to think we do if you like, but it will all be bullshit.

I don't get your reference to guess the hair colour! I regularly change my hair colour, I've also been multi-coloured. Is there some of hair colour code for TRAs?
