Twitter spat, obv.

The fallout from Anthony's recent initiative to arrange a letter from lots of men scolding women for disobedience. It's come to his attention that Helen Joyce of The Economist is non-compliant. He tweeted her employers about this stubborn refusal to fall into line, and then the next step was to demand a debate with her.

Said debate has now actually apparently been agreed to and arranged, but not before a series of tweets from him demanding that she sort complimentary tickets and perform admin tasks.

It's well worth a read, all screenshotted here for those who are blocked. He's also found time to demand a debate with Graham Linehan, with whom he's very upset because Graham has told gays what to do despite not being one himself. The irony was just too much there.

All well worth a read for anyone wanting a giggle on a Sunday morning.

What is his bizarre fixation on Glinner? Why is he so keen to meet and “debate” him? If I had a stranger sending me messages like that, insistently and aggressively demanding that I meet him in person, I’d assume that the agenda was sexual violence. The behaviour has “stalker creep” all over it. It’s very weird watching a man do it to another man (in his fifties, too, no harm to you Glinner but you’re not the demographic that usually gets that stuff.) Maybe the underlying dynamic is something different and I’m interpreting it through a woman’s lens?

ToeToToe · 17/03/2019 11:00

Debbie's right - I have never seen a man make such a spectacle of himself on Twitter.

I don't hold out much hope for Helen getting a civil debate out of this man Grin He's raging mad about a woman standing up to him.

TowelNumber42 · 17/03/2019 11:01

I interpret that as a man who cannot bear to be wrong, never mind to be mocked. He's rich, appears to have bought political connections, blocks anyone who even hints at thinking he's wrong. Glinner mocks. This is not permitted. Watson must dominate. Helen questions. This is not permitted. Watson must make little woman sit down and listen to him so she gets it right in future.

WaddIelikeapenguin · 17/03/2019 11:02

He considers women utterly beneath him but would think Gilner as a man (just) worthy of sharing a platform

Sitdownstandup · 17/03/2019 11:02

Maybe he's just a really big Father Ted fan.

Just another example of a man using the trans ally-ship as an outlet for terrible misogyny. "Any woman who disagrees with me is a nazi."

TimeLady · 17/03/2019 11:11

And there was me pontificating on another thread if he had applied for the Stonewall CEO post. If so, you've blown it, Tony.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/03/2019 11:14

If so, you've blown it, Tony.

Oh I don't know - sounds like he might be quite a good fit actually...

EweSurname · 17/03/2019 11:17

I think this is all part of the audition process!

terryleather · 17/03/2019 11:17

Yup, I'd say he's a perfect fit..

Sitdownstandup · 17/03/2019 11:29

Yeah, this if anything renders him better qualified.

Now Linda Riley is accusing Helen Joyce of bullying poor Anthony. Never knowingly on the side of women eh Linda. Utter sellout.

terryleather · 17/03/2019 11:50

That's right Linda, centre the cock.......

Knicknackpaddyflak · 17/03/2019 11:56

And there was me pontificating on another thread if he had applied for the Stonewall CEO post.

Hates women, arrogant beyond credibility, deeply sexist, lacking in all empathy or awareness of others - yes, certainly he's well qualified.

Although I've been hoping Penny Mordaunt will take the post, she and Stonewall truly deserve each other.

VickyEadie · 17/03/2019 12:02

Just to emphasise, for all those who think they should vote Labour despite their misogyny, because - y'know, poverty, etc: Watson is their Equalities "Tsar". He's a multi-millionaire, lives abroad and shits all over women at all times.

"Equalities". That is how fucking 'socialist' Labour is under Corbyn.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 17/03/2019 12:13

How the hell is helen bullying Anthony?

Will look for linda riley

theOtherPamAyres · 17/03/2019 12:32

Any woman who has been singled out to fetch a cup of a tea for a man who has just walked into a meeting - even though she is the senior executive in the room, will have laughed at this wanker chap.

"Set up a debate at a festival. Get me some complimentary tickets, 10 parking spaces, my own dressing room and a rider that includes white roses, craft beers and tubes of Pringles."

They can't help but show their narcissism at every turn. Labour must be so desperate for funders to give this berk a role in the spotlight. He's doing untold damage to the party and to the public's perception of gay men - and it's educating to watch.

Keep up the good work Anthony. Flowers

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/03/2019 12:49

How the hell is helen bullying Anthony

She had the audacity to question him.

2nd rule of misogyny: Women saying no to men is a hate crime.

WeRiseUp · 17/03/2019 12:58

I feel that the assortment of unhinged loons fronting the trans juggernaut are no longer able to keep it together and are no longer being given the pretence of being taken seriously, so the masterminds are being forced out of the shadows. They don't look much better tbf.

zanahoria · 17/03/2019 13:04

"Advises the Labour party on diversity matters(!) and various board things"

so sick of people lecturing on diversity, everyone on that gravy train thinks theirs is the last word on the debate and anyone who opposes them is opposed to the very concept of diversity. Its like Stalin's Russia.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 17/03/2019 13:29

She had the audacity to question him

Ooohhhh i seeeeee

Oh gosh no wonder he is upet, poor little devil

#questionsscarepeople

teawamutu · 17/03/2019 13:38

Yup. Nasty nasty women. ReeeEeeEEEEEEEEEEEE

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 17/03/2019 14:26

Her twitter account seems to have gone, or is that just me?

Bluestitch · 17/03/2019 14:28

If you mean LR, account is still there. Here is the original tweet.

TowelNumber42 · 17/03/2019 14:29

Helen's still there. She just posted a link to an article she published in December. I doubt very much she's a woman who can be bullied into silence. I expect The Economist is being supportive too, which must help.
