The board is, ahem, moving fast today, and some marvelous stuff is getting buried in the monster threads. I thought this might be a good place to collect reports from on the ground in D.C.

Thanks to SpartacusAutisticus for posting Natasha Chart's wonderful, raw speech outside Human Rights Campaign:

Here is the protest outside Twitter:

I hear you, Bubonic.

Ryan T. Anderson doing an intro.

Jennifer Chavez will be up first to share anonymous accounts from children experiencing ROGD (and their parents).

JC: "Children were not born in the wrong bodies." Quoting parents:

-daughter on autism spectrum. Where did she get the idea? A school presentation. More than 5% of students at her school are now trans-identified. No therapy or consideration of social factors offered by doctors; told to agree puberty blockers or daughter would suicide. "Conversion therapy bans" mean questioning a child's declared gender identity is against the law. NJ Dept Education officially encourages schools to report parents who do not support medical transition to Child Protective Services. Written to representatives and been ignored. Lifelong Democrat outraged that only conservative news sources will listen.

-"After suffering multiple traumatic events in her life and spending a lot of time on the internet, my daughter suddenly declared she was a male. Around this time she was diagnosed with ADHD, depression, and anxiety, but medical professionals focused only on gender identity." Put through a CPS investigation. Endocrinologist prescribed T without parent's knowledge or consent. Underwent double mastectomy and hysterectomy at 17. Why does Oregon law allow CHILDREN to make life-altering medical decisions?

-Youtube Instagram Tumblr and Reddit supplied a complete how-to-transition guide. We are facing this ever-growing storm of social contagion without any help.

Thanks for posting that Tacky I think it's easy to lose sight as to how emotionally draining it is for those on the frontline.

GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 17:29

-In only one visit and with a little bloodwork, Planned Parenthood will happily prescribe hormones, disregarding mental health status.

Hacsi Horvath up now

HH:
-"It's spin. There are enormous gaps [in trans medial research]. Pretty much all the science is an exercise in confirmation bias and selection bias."
-Dutch doctors were the first to push puberty blockers and early hormones. American doctors have taken it even further/earlier.
-It's one way trip. You don't go off these things. (blockers)
-Small children who play with the "wrong" toys being rushed to pediatric gender clinics funded by multimillionaires. Again it's a one way trip.

OP posts:
GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 17:36

-ROGD: a mass craze, predominantly girls. Gender identity is the new eating disorder.
-Nobody wants to be a bigot.
-Young girls have internalized misogyny, internalized homophobia, and often have experienced trauma.
-Young boys may have the beginnings of AGP fueled by pervasive porn.

OP posts:
GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 17:41

-Blockers stop children from growing physically, but also blocks the mental and emotional maturation of puberty.
-Huge loss of follow up in studies: 30-40%. Where are these patients? If this were an HIV study, that would be considered an emergency level of loss to follow up.
-Happening mainly in English speaking countries
-Oregon will allow 15 year olds surgery without parental consent
-Johanna Olson Kennedy in LA will refer 13 year olds for radical mastectomy
-The barn doors are wide open.
-Society is indoctrinated to say "this is human rights. I don't want to say the wrong thing."

OP posts:
GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 17:45

-Doctors are not considering differential diagnoses.
-The science is complete junk.
-We have to stop it. Thousands and thousands and thousands of children now are going through this.

[I like HH's voice! it is soothing.]

Julia Beck on now:

Why is a lesbian speaking at the Heritage Foundation? Because I am politically homeless.

[I like her voice too!]

I was kicked off the Baltimore LGBTQ Commission and investigated and found guilty by them of "violence" for using male pronouns to refer to a rapist in a women's prison.

[Ooh she is good but hard to keep up with, typing wise!]

OP posts:
midpond · 28/01/2019 17:49

Anyone DC-based?

GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 17:52

"Inclusivity means all voices are welcome, except women. Except lesbians."

"The T is diametrically opposed to the first three letters in the acronym, and especially to the L."

-cotton ceiling

-TWAW is repeated like a mantra, but no one really believes it

-Sex and gender mean different things, and we must not conflate

-Gender is regressive. Our female sex is the one and only qualifier of womanhood.

-Ooh great bit about conservatives trying to make people's personalities match their bodies; progressives trying to make people's bodies match their personalities. Radical feminists say no to both!

-We are losing an entire generation of sisters to this madness. I'm here because I care about women, and I expect that you do, too.

RAUCOUS applause!

OP posts:
OvaHere · 28/01/2019 17:52

Thanks for the transcribing. Even though I know most of this stuff already it's still shocking to hear it spoken about and how normalised society has made it.

GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 17:57

Kara Dansky now:

-Hands Across the Aisle set aside the issues on which they disagree in order to focus on areas of agreement.

-Title IX enacted specifically to protect women and girls against discrimination "on the basis of sex" but also protects sex-segregated spaces.
-Obama guidelines re-interpreted "sex" to mean "gender identity," with no notice and guidance; no opportunity for public comment.
-WoLF sued; suit was dropped when Trump admin came in and dropped Obama guidelines.
-However, this has created much confusion for schools across the country.
-Suits across the country from trans-identified students against districts (and in one case non-trans students suing to demand sex segregation).
Gloucester & Boyertown cases percolating through the courts. Brave Alexis Lightcap one of the Boyertown plaintiffs.

OP posts:
GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 18:03

-My liberal friends ask me, Why do you care?
-Because of the parents whose stories Jennifer read, and because if sex is construed to mean gender, WOMEN'S RIGHTS IN GENERAL WILL UTTERLY DISAPPEAR.
-Hoping Boyertown goes before the Supreme Court; WoLF have filed an amicus brief.
-Unmitigated disaster; it means women and girls will no longer exist as a protected class for civil rights legislation.

-In Congress, the Equality Act is pending. Who would be against Equality? Everybody likes Equality!
-This bill would amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to include gender identity as a protected class; unmitigated disaster for women and girls.
-It is not possible to enshrine gender identity in law and protect women and girls as a distinct class in law.
-I think Democrats are well-intentioned but they have not fully explored the consequences of this legislation.

-The emptiness, intellectual bankruptcy of this ideology. The crucial terms such as gender identity are undefined, completely circular (gender identity is the gender with which one identifies) or rely on outdated sex-based stereotypes.
-We should not be basing legislation on terms that have no definition.

Nice round of applause!

I'm so glad this is happening and women's voices are being heard.

Oxytocindeficient · 28/01/2019 18:04

Thanks from me too

GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 18:07

Question: Is there any reason not to refer to the Equality Act as the Female Erasure Act?

Kara: No.

Question: EEOC website still defines sex discrimination as sex or gender identity?

Kara: I have not seen the site. That is probably an EEOC policy. The guidance was never enacted into law. Different agencies have different policies; we do so gender identity creeping in to all kinds of policies. It makes no sense.

Question: Hasn't a lot of this [ideology] come out of academia? Isn't this a monster that was built in the laboratory of academia?

Hacsi: Yes. Latched onto gay rights.
Jennifer Chavez: Stems from queer theory. Look it up and fight back against it everywhere.

OP posts:
OvaHere · 28/01/2019 18:07

I really hope this gets traction over there. Are any outlets reporting on it?

GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 18:12

Question: 1) Could you give some counsel in this polarized time in our country? Pointers as to how we can facilitate cooperation, put forth a united front? 2) Endocrinologists defer to prof orgs who have changed guidelines dramatically.

HH: Some of them are ideologues. Most doctors are busy and defer to the gung-ho ideologues. For the political questions, I don't play along. I don't say "she." This is gaslighting.

JC: Read 'Galileo's Middle Finger.' Doctors and everyone else are worried we will be attacked, lose friends and family. We have to give cover to each other and make room for questions. More and more people need to speak up.

KD: I have heard from my Republican friends that many conservatives think gender identity ideology is so ridiculous that the Equality Act will never pass. Feminists understand the unbelievable power and money behind the movement to promote gender identity ideology. We need to be prepared for a big fight.

JB: Just meet with people. Talk to your neighbors, talk to your family. Get away from the internet and discuss face to face.

Huge loss of follow up in studies: 30-40%. Where are these patients? If this were an HIV study, that would be considered an emergency level of loss to follow up.

Can I just pick up on this, because clinical trials is something I do know a lot about. She is absolutely correct that that level of either drop out, or loss to follow up if follow up was deemed needed would be something that would not be allowed to pass in the industry I’m in. I can’t tell you the paperwork, scrutiny and focus that would be brought to bear on it.

Once again I am STAGGERED at how evidence based medicine, science, data, decades of careful, experimental work is being pushed aside in favour of opinion.

We are seeing a total reversal of one of the single most positive trends in medicine (making medicine evidence based.) and it’s happening due to lobby group pressure, NOT from any evidence base at all.

Is this in the agenda? Because it’s incredibly important

GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 18:17

Question: Is there a possibility of alliance?

KD: That's the intention behind Hands Across the Aisle

JB: We need men on our team!

HH: Women have been in the lead, done 99% so far. Men are picking up on this only slowly.

KD: Trans rights is a men's rights movement.

Ryan Anderson talking about the "Biology Isn't Bigotry" panel last year.

Question: GRA in UK was counterproductive for the trans movement. Is the Equality Act an opportunity to spark a national conversation in USA?

JC: At least in UK you have national journalists speaking out. We do not have that here.

KD: I think that if people understood what the Equality Act would really do, there would be big questions, but it's an open question whether the media will give us a fair hearing.

HH: National media quick to counter any critical articles with a raft of trans responses.

That was excellent.
I don't know what the Heritage Foundation stand for or how much power and influence they have (will read up later) but it seems to me that hosting this event was a brave thing to do. The speakers were fab.

GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 18:27

Tacky thanks for the Posie link; that was moving.

OvaHere I hope there will be some media coverage but my hopes are not high. I looked for anything about the Facebook, Twitter, HRC protests Saturday and the DC library event yesterday but haven't found anything.

I don't quite understand this tho:
Is this in the agenda? Because it’s incredibly important
The trans agenda or the panel's agenda? Sorry to be dense!
