Recording of Mermaids training

Apologies if this has already been posted. Did a quick search and didn't find anything.

Michael Conroy attended and recorded a mermaids training session. It's hair raising listening.

I believe that someone is working on transcribing this, which will hopefully make it easier to analyse. But wanted to post it to make sure it hadn't been missed.

I didn't hear anything that could be considered identifying. It was mostly the trainer rattling on. Didn't get to the end. It is a very uphill thing to listen to. So many layers of woo.

There may be.

Its not just whether they identify 'child X'
the content of the comment could also identify the person attending by what they may have said.

It seemed likely most were attending in a professional capacity.

Training such as this usually starts with reassurance 'there are no stupid questions' etc
It would not be fair to enable scrutiny of comments and questions made in good faith.

The focus should be solely on Mermaids training, information and guidance.

Yes, every one was really quiet Hmm. It reminded me of the 'testimonials' in the church that advocates personal communication with God through baptism with the holy spirit, youth group that I misspent a thankfully short period of my youth attending. Wink

There is not much you can say after you have been told that light and dark is a spectrum though.

AFAIK, it's illegal to record someone without their knowledge and consent, and publishing such a recording would presumably be even more illegal (technical term)

IANAL, but my understanding is that recording is not unlawful for personal use only, but sharing is. I believe there is a public interest exemption- which seems to have a strong argument in this case.

You can't use a recording, made without the knowledge of those involved, in a court of law as evidence.

From Mermaids professional training. Blah blah. Gender disphoria... Not mental illness. . . etc...World Health organisation put under Gender incongruence, which near where they put the intersex So. Like I was saying before yeah? Organisations and things seem to be putting them closer together. Yeah, so who knows where they'll end up.
