A Trans Woman Was Asked To Leave The Women's Changing Room At A PureGym

Exclusive: The woman was told that "no men are allowed" in the women's changing room after gym staff received a complaint from another member.

How long until the backlash forces a change in policy do you think?

LOL at "women and people".

Clearly that was meant to se women and TS people. You can't pull me up for a simple editing error.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 19/12/2018 23:24

Women and people have common ground over demedicalisation, self id, mermaids agenda and much more. Why is discussion so threatening ?

If you want to talk about those things, start a thread, or contribute to an existing one.

This thread is about single sex spaces.

FloralBunting · 19/12/2018 23:25

I remember the time someone said "Because it is not going to happen is it? I am not going to go back to using the gents. We are breaking no law in the ladies, even if we have no GRC. Our GRC says we are female under the law " for all practical purposes". We are not going away. We have always been there., we will always been here."

For some reason, it seems relevant in a thread where some are claiming that they like, totes respect female boundaries and spaces.

MsMcWoodle · 19/12/2018 23:26

Still - what do you want? Are you going to stomp off without saying? Who does that?

This thread is about single sex spaces.

This thread was about a media report over a TG identified individual and their behaviour. Behaviour that very much links to self identity and demedicalisation. My comments are exactly what this thread was about.

I am not going to be dragged into discussion with you when nothing I say will be right.

In the new world order women will be forbidden to remember things said in previous conversations.

MsMcWoodle · 19/12/2018 23:31

What previous conversation? ;-)

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 23:32

I wonder if we're going to get a glittery version of the blinky thing from Men In Black.

LangCleg · 19/12/2018 23:33

If one were to run a PR campaign aimed at persuading women that TS people are lovely and it's only the TG people who are meanies, how would one go about it? Asking for a friend.

MsMcWoodle · 19/12/2018 23:33

Huh? I'll have to look that up. Does it wipe your mind?

MrsFogi · 19/12/2018 23:34

PureGym were very clear about their policy when I got in touch with them earlier this year (se page 2 of this thread Members should use the changing room they are comfortable with. I cancelled my membership as a result - effectively anyone can use the changing room they wish, it is not based on sex but what they feel comfortable with (tough luck for those already in the changing room who may not feel comfortable).

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 23:34

Wipes your memory (so you forget all the aliens, or in this case the things people said a few days ago).

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 23:35

If we're going to do this can we at least have Will Smith involved?

MsMcWoodle · 19/12/2018 23:35

Right. Women being comfortable doesn't seem to matter. I think that we may have to start making other people feel uncomfortable.

MsMcWoodle · 19/12/2018 23:36

Yes to Will Smith.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 23:37

I think the fact that we're discussing this at all makes some people deeply uncomfortable, hence the attempts to make us stop.

cantgetridofthekids · 19/12/2018 23:37

Quite what you are trying to achieve by asking a question in that way alludes me.

This is nothing to do with TS people are lovely as you say but rather the differentiation between TS people as a transitioning, diagnosed and medicalised group versus a transgender ideology of self identity, acceptable sexual motivation and the way in which this ideology is exploitable.

AngryAttackKittens · 19/12/2018 23:38

I wonder how many of us here are the right age to remember all the words to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song...

MsMcWoodle · 19/12/2018 23:39

i wish someone would answer my question. Otherwise, what else do you want here?

MsMcWoodle · 19/12/2018 23:40

I'm actually too old for that one.

AlexanderHamilton · 19/12/2018 23:41

I really can’t understand why can’t is getting this vitriol.

It’s not helping the cause and as a GC woman is actually making me wonder reassess my views.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 19/12/2018 23:41

This thread was about a media report over a TG identified individual and their behaviour.

How do you know they are not TS?
