Someone who was filmed trying to stop the “we need to talk” session now thinks they were wrong for attempting to shut down debate and realises that they were intimidating women

Haven't had a chance to watch too far in, but Corinna seems very thoughtful and likeable too.

R0wantrees · 15/12/2018 20:49

Corrinna makes many important points. She is very reflective & insightful. Also provides an important perspective from being on the inside of the tech world.

Vegilante · 15/12/2018 21:44

porn is not something that's involved in this.

You might want to take a closer look at the sort of porn young people are exposed to (& often get hooked on) online from an early age nowadays. Trans porn featuring "shemales" with big dicks & bigger breast implants (the best of both worlds in some people's view, I guess) is one of most popular & ubiquitous forms of porn these days. It's everywhere - & it's bound to give some impressionable young people ideas, especially since kids are increasingly being exposed to it earlier & earlier in their formative years.

Also look into 'forced feminisation" porn, particularly "did sissy porn make me trans?" discussions in online forums like reddit, as well as in "no-fap" forums (fap=masturbation).

transgenderreality.com/2015/06/26/did-sissy-porn-make-me-trans/comment-page-1/

Not saying porn is the only factor, just that it definitely IS involved - in the trans craze generally & in the etiology of many individual cases.

Bubonicpanic · 15/12/2018 21:58

Wut?

So we have insistence that ROGD in females is down to internet grooming and education into trans identities.

But that's not a factor that it is reasonable to consider here. Categorically not?

I have two DS, now just into their 20s. I would be very skeptical about being asked to believe that online activity is not a factor here and that an adolescent male has not accessed porn.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 22:21

But porn has not caused the isolation

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 22:23

You see isolation with many illnesses and disabilities, in both males and females porn is certainly not the cause.

Bubonicpanic · 15/12/2018 22:33

Who said it was the cause?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 22:40

You have.

Earlywalker · 15/12/2018 22:41

I thought esther came across well in that. Some of you, not so much.

I think it’s a great thing that someone who was on the extreme end has seen the error of their ways and is speaking up, she may be at the beginning of a long road but at least she’s doing something and being a voice - to shut her down with ‘clown makeup’ ‘pantomime dames’ and ‘wanking over trans porn’ is disgusting.

How on earth do you expect to actually make a difference, if anyone that starts listening is treated like shit on your shoe.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 22:42

You seem to think it's all someone stuck at home due to having issues would do all day.
Especially if they are male.

You are wrong.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 22:44

How many people here are either Autistic, have anxiety, or something similar and have not been able to do something or go somewhere because of it?

And how many were watching porn instead?

it's very insulting.

NotMeOhNo · 15/12/2018 22:46

"You are wrong."

Im idly reading this thread and am baffled how you have decided this?

Bubonicpanic · 15/12/2018 22:52

Cause and effect is unexplained in the emergence of AGP as a sexuality.

It is known that boys start playing with their penis very early, 7 or 8. Mix that up with online access and away we go. And in schools, education for AGP sexuality as young as ?

Well you tell me how young. How young do you want your boys to start go irreversibly down this road?

What we are being told by Stonewall is that this sexuality takes precedence over all other sexualities and takes precedence over human sexual dimorphism.

So I have long got over the passive observance of "nice" and moved into a realistic understanding of this. Maybe my damascene moment was, when on a date with a 50 year old man in a new relationship when we slept together for the first time, he woke me up in the middle of the night choking me . And pretended the next morning nothing had happened.

Maybe then I realised that porn is a corrupting factor. Maybe then I realised that you have to read the information you have, the facts staring you in the face.

As an adult, I will not look away. I will not be kind. I will continue to be blunt and direct about this and get it all out into the sunlight, and I will continue to thank mumsnet for facilitating so many, many, and a growing number, of women who do this.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 22:52

Sorry it just struck a nerve.

HestiaParthenos · 15/12/2018 22:53

How many people here are either Autistic, have anxiety, or something similar and have not been able to do something or go somewhere because of it?

Well, I do sit at home and write posts on mumsnet instead of going somewhere because of anxiety, but the thing is, I'm female. And a feminist to boot.

I haven't yet met someone of the male sex who didn't, after some digging, admit to watching porn.

You can't be absolutely certain that a male who spends days in front of a screen watches porn, but it is also not really reaching far to assume that he's watching porn.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 22:55

We are talking about different subjects I think.
If I am mistaken and you have not linked being stuck at home due to a mental health issue with porn i'm sorry.

Bubonicpanic · 15/12/2018 22:56

The diagnosis from posters (armchair) of autism seems to be generating outrage about (armchair assumption of) porn use?

Baffled?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 23:03

I've not said they are autistic, but surely the idea that this person may have a neurological disability or mental health issue isn't a massive assumption, given the statistics of the amount of those groups identifing as trans?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 23:05

Backed by the idea they were unable to leave the house which is common in those two groups.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 23:06

Isn't it likely they are a vulnerable adult who found they were accepted into the transcripts at a time of need?

Rather than spending two years stuck at home watching porn?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 23:07

Trans-groups, not transcripts.

Bubonicpanic · 15/12/2018 23:10

Is it not possible to consider that the inwardly directed sense of sexual attraction to oneself can be derived from an immature belief that you will never be attractive to anyone else?

Or from a developed sense of sexuality disengaged from the understanding that sexual attraction naturally comes later in life?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 23:13

People join cults and extremist groups because they are friendly faces during times of need.
Vulnerable people more so.

Bubonicpanic · 15/12/2018 23:16

So its fantastic that we have cult education freely available in schools and online for vulnerable children

And I thought Twin Peaks was a silly 80s TV show.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 15/12/2018 23:19

Bubonicpanic
You are way to complicated for me, sorry I only have a most basic understanding of sexuality and sexual feelings. So I can't argue with or against this theory.

So its fantastic that we have cult education freely available in schools and online for vulnerable children

No.
I'm not sure where you get this idea from.
We are for the same thing.
