This tweet is not going as well as she perhaps expected: twitter.com/sally_hines/status/1064473613049442304

The Twitter comments sum up everything I thought listening this morning.

cockBlocker · 19/11/2018 22:25

I can't tell if she knows she did badly or if she thinks she was 'set up' in some way, by y'know, being asked to answer logical questions. 'Internally screaming' - so not able to put together a coherent verbal argument internally either then. She sounded like a teenager.

Weezol · 19/11/2018 22:30

Mr Snodes
@mrsnodes

No one does an implied “FFS” like Jane Garvey

Indeed.

theOtherPamAyres · 19/11/2018 22:50

How on earth did this batshittery become mainstream?

Hines made no sense. None. It was as though she had a superficial knowledge of some things and a complete misunderstanding of other things like interesex conditions. It was crazy.

Vegilante · 19/11/2018 23:00

One of the tweets said all SH had were "fragments of arguments" but I think even that is too generous. As is typical with transgenderists, all she had were slogans & catchphrases drawn from dogma learned by rote. How can an academic not understand the difference between argument and assertion?

And WTF does she mean by "realness"?

BTW, here's the broadcast for those who haven't heard it:

LassWiADelicateAir · 19/11/2018 23:02

The twitter page seems to have gone?

Janie143 · 19/11/2018 23:03

The Twitter thread has gone Wonder why?

Anlaf · 19/11/2018 23:03

I dunno herfemaleness, so many of us started our journey by getting our arses handed to us and thinking "those ladies are really quite cross, and their questions are hard" and then two months' frantic googling later....

(admittedly in my case the arsehanding was in the relative privacy of a popular parenting website) you'll never find that old username!

Come on Sally lass- join us on FWR!

Serfisafleur · 19/11/2018 23:05

She's deleted the thread!

Arkengarthdale · 19/11/2018 23:09

Can't see it!! Haven't yet had a chance to listen to the thing this morning but if anyone had screenshots for a flavour of arse handing bigly I'd appreciate it Grin

Silentlyobserving · 19/11/2018 23:10

Aw bless, she ran away when confronted with reality

OP posts:
SirVixofVixHall · 19/11/2018 23:10

I was about to post that too. Yep, the whole thread deleted. Couldn’t cope with all the rationality, obvs

arranfan · 19/11/2018 23:13

And the thread has been deleted.

I recommended that she should take a beat, not hit delete

This is no way to engage in critical self-reflection about your performance nor to show that you're willing to consider the audience for your contribution to an important cultural and social topic.

doublethink · 19/11/2018 23:14

I can't believe she's just deleted it?! Surely part of being an academic is responding to critique of your theories or assertions?! And if you can't, then it perhaps shows that those assertions have sone holes (rather large ones in this case)...

arranfan · 19/11/2018 23:14

She's deleted the thread!

That is unfortunate.

Deleting a thread because it hasn't gone your way is not a strong indicator that you're willing to engage in critical self-reflection about your performance.

Silentlyobserving · 19/11/2018 23:15

I can believe it after all she is a "professor" of as someone eloquently put earlier of "batshittery"!!!

OP posts:
LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 19/11/2018 23:16

Would she be facing the sack for being - a bit ‘lacking’?

ContessaHallelujahSparklehorse · 19/11/2018 23:16

Please tell me there are screenshots!

Silentlyobserving · 19/11/2018 23:20

Just check the @ search for details of responses to her ill considered thread: twitter.com/search?q=%40sally_hines&src=typd

OP posts:
PipGoesPop · 19/11/2018 23:24

She came across as so smug and patronising and it was actually a total shit show for her. TWAW she piped up when she had NOTHING to say.

If I was the Dean of Leeds Uni I'd be fucking ashamed of the absolute bullshit being rolled out.

Polestar50 · 19/11/2018 23:25

I read the first few comments on this thread and was looking forward to reading it on Twitter. Clicked and it had gone. For those of us who missed it, is anyone able to give a brief synopsis of what she said and some of the responses?

Silentlyobserving · 19/11/2018 23:30

She said nothing, she came on deleted the thread and did not even attempt to engage with any of the posters.

OP posts:
Silentlyobserving · 19/11/2018 23:35

No worries, here is another one that you might want to screenshot before she runs away again - interestingly it is about "transpregnancy" twitter.com/sally_hines/status/1061375667982475265

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 19/11/2018 23:40

Whenever I see a twitter thread linked on mumsnet and open it to see a well presented GC posted in the last 10 minutes or so, I always wonder which MNetter it was that made the comment Grin

Silentlyobserving · 19/11/2018 23:42

Guess what, she loves Gendered Intelligence and Mermaids, how surprising
