Posie Parker Ate My Homework

I'm not surprised by the vitriolic ranting against Posie, in a way it just goes to show how she's getting under the trans rights activist's skin.

I've seen everything from:
POSIE PARKER SECRETLY GOT RID OF A PERSON'S GCSE COURSEWORK!!!!!!
To
SHE'S SO UGLY SHE LOOKS LIKE THATCHER !!!!!!!!!

The daily fail even did a "disrespectful women" slant to an article on her.

www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6218395/amp/Blogger-billboard-defining-woman-adult-human-female-blasted-Morning-viewers. (If someone could tell me how to do clickly links I'd be grateful, I've even googled it, and still failed)

The heartening thing was the commenters on that post weren't having any of it.

I wish Posie was still here. Flowers for all the personal hate that's being sent her way. Debate her by all means, but its getting so low it's practically below ground.

It's interesting how the TRAs are claiming that nobody agrees with Posie whilst simultaneously desperately trying to discredit and shut her up. She must be doing something right.

Same with WPUK- Dr Twat and his pals saying how insignificant they are, mocking attendance numbers, whilst also doing everything they can to stop the meeting going ahead.

If nobody cares about what these women have to say, if everybody disagrees with them, why the need to silence them?

placemats · 30/09/2018 13:51

I thought you were brilliant on This Morning Posie.

All my family back home in Northern Ireland cannot stand Holmes. For what it is worth, I come from a 'Catholic' background though I have loads of 'Protestant' cousins in the UK and Ireland.

breastfeedingclownfish · 30/09/2018 13:53

Posie has said some things in the past that I have winced a little over. Same as Venice. When I first got involved with this, there was quite a bit of internal policing re not putting out the 'right' message and there were group splits and flounces and whatnot. Posie was kicked off the panel for the WPUK meeting etc. Actually I am extremely grateful to both of them for not being 'on message'. Being a good girl brings no rewards, especially in this debate. Look at that This Morning interview - the entire interview was about Posie being 'not kind'. That's what women have to be, well the ones without the penises that it. No. I don't care who I offend now. I'm fighting this, and 'being kind' to people that appropriate 'woman' is not on the agenda. They are not getting it - fuck off, the answer is no.

I love that Posie is gender conforming in appearance but not in character. She is pretty, intelligent and resolute. She can think on her feet and she is not intimidated by these fuckers.

I don't care if I don't agree with everything she says or with the way she says it. This debate needs to be had. Most people don't have a fucking clue what is going on and Posie, Venice, Dr Nic and so many others have taken a shitload of abuse for speaking at all. So I have their backs. Thanks to all the women out there who are working on this, writing letters, meeting MPs, sticking stickers on lavvy walls, leafleting, writing here, explaining over and over for people who ask, who lurk, who come on to antagonise. Keep going, it's working.

RiverTam · 30/09/2018 13:56

I agree that TV is a much better medium for her than Twitter or, indeed, MN. She speaks so articulately, without getting riled under such pressure, it’s very impressive. And yes, she can’t be tarred with any of the usual tropes, because she is a feminine woman, a wife and mother in a traditional mould, so none of the usual sour dried up lesbo virgin man hating shit can stick.

I don’t agree with everything she says, but she has absolutely put her money where her mouth is, and I applaud that.

XXaghast · 30/09/2018 14:10

'mon the Parker!

NewWomensMovement · 30/09/2018 14:14

I think she does telly, etc very well - I know this is a bit boring and technical, but she has very clear diction and natural prosody in her voice which gets her message heard, she is very good at improvising and thinking on the fly and has some great mannerisms which make "classic moments" you want to re-watch and quote. She is saying what she thinks, and what she thinks is original, interesting, provoking and has a great sense of the absurd.

I think pushing her off of social media platforms and into livestreaming and mainstream TV is possibly one of the biggest own-goals made by the TRAs so far.

placemats · 30/09/2018 14:25

She is saying what she thinks, and what she thinks is original, interesting, provoking and has a great sense of the absurd.

How or in what dimension, is discussing the dictionary meaning of 'women' absurd, interesting, provoking or original?

TwistedStitch · 30/09/2018 14:27

I was impressed at how clear she was when she and Harrop were both talking at the same time. I couldn't make out what he was saying even on rewatching, it was just a drone. I could hear every word she said.

AnyFucker · 30/09/2018 14:28

I think you mean pointing out the absurd

Floisme · 30/09/2018 14:33

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Posie says something that sends a lot of us diving for cover and the TRAs pouring on here to gloat. But the fact that she's nobody's poster girl is kind of the point.

AnyFucker · 30/09/2018 14:37

Yep, let's not set her up as some kind of perfect demi god.

The only way is down after that as the pressure to live up to it gets too much

Bolloxio · 30/09/2018 14:58

Indeed.

Given the clandestine way that WPUK has to operate, I wonder how many women think, "I'd like to attend that. But:
i) if it kicked off, I couldn't afford the dental bills/time off work;
ii) I can't afford to travel only to discover that the meeting doesn't go ahead;
iii) I can't afford the childcare to attend the meeting but as per i) I don't want to involve my children in something that could go awry;
iv) what if someone reported me to work and their claim that I attended a meeting of a far-right, extremist, hate-group that's been reported to the Police Anti-Terrorist Unit (all claims that have been made) got me on a disciplinary before HR for inappropriate behaviour etc.".

LangCleg · 30/09/2018 15:12

Being a good girl brings no rewards

This.

Screamqueenz · 30/09/2018 15:16

It is a genuine worry though isn't it. I own my own business and can't afford to be labelled as a bigot. I want to stand up and be counted, but if my business suffered then my family will suffer.

R0wantrees · 30/09/2018 15:34

Also - a point I will say they DO try their best to accommodate - but due to the venues having to be hidden, accessibility is an issue for Wpuk meetings.

I attended Cardiff, and as the venue cancelled last minute it was moved to a school. With no accessible toilet and very narrow corridors. I managed, but only just.

LadyRochfordsHoickedGusset · 30/09/2018 16:26

I have never had a comment deleted before. I feel like a naughty schoolgirl. No irony intended.

ChrysanthemumsAreMums · 30/09/2018 16:35

Blimey Sue needs to calm down a bit

ElfrideSwancourt · 30/09/2018 16:38

I'd love to go to a WPUK meeting, but haven't yet been able to attend any, mainly because of not knowing in advance where they are.

I can't drive very far due to chronic health condition, so am reliant on public transport and that's not really compatible with not knowing where the venue is.
But I really want to stand up and be counted over this.

Have WPUK really been reported to the police? Are women gathering to talk really that scary??

UpstartCrow · 30/09/2018 16:46

Anyone can report anyone to the police. I'm guessing it was Sue that did so.
When Sue says 'they are regarded in the same category as Britain First,' Sue forgot to say who regards them in that category.
I'm guessing that again, its Sue.

Trinity1976 · 30/09/2018 16:48

What's the crack with IW? Is she an old-school transsexual with a GRC?

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 30/09/2018 16:54

IW has had much surgery and has a GRC. IW was previously married to a woman and has a child, but iirc is now attracted to men.

It is plausible that someone like so is either old school homosexual transgender who was in denial of sexuality when married, or hetero AGP who has gone to the extreme of needing male attraction/ penetration (sorry, can't really describe it politely!) as part of the paraphilia. Only the individual would know which category they belong to.

BeyondAdultHumanFemale · 30/09/2018 16:55

Second paragraph is general and not specifically applied to IW!!

2BorNot2Bvocal · 30/09/2018 16:56

Interestingly the article has full and clear images of both the billboard and Posie's t-shirt.
