The semantle thread was deleted because it had a spoiler for that day's puzzle in the title. Nothing to do with the content of the post itself.

@DrSbaitso

What was Lang Cleg banned for?
From memory and with no inside knowledge, as I understand it ...

She was raising awareness of safeguarding red flags, associations in groups of people and so on. Safeguarding was her strength, and she had things she needed to point out (which I think we are all aware of now).

She argued after a deletion (in private emails, so we don't know what was said) and was banned for being argumentative.

WeeTorag · 22/04/2022 08:02

Yessss! Please bring Posie back! Kellie Jay is doing great work protecting Women's right and child safeguarding. She deserves a platform here.

endofthelinefinally · 23/04/2022 09:35

She has got thousands of followers on you tube and Standing for Women local groups, speakers corner events and the billboard merchandising. I think she has moved on from being banned on here.
Sadly she isn't the only person banned from MN for standing up for women and safeguarding children.

TheFeministShrug · 23/04/2022 12:40

I believe KJ has stated that she wouldn't return even if she was allowed to? So I'm not sure what the point of this thread is really?

I do hope Elon Musk overturns her a Twitter ban though!

DrSbaitso · 17/04/2022 09:15

What was Lang Cleg banned for?

She was a safeguarding expert so was not popular with our delightful external moderators. She pointed out that by reacting to the pressure of said monitors to delete posts that did not specifically break the rules but that shone a light on elements of the ideology that the monitors do not want exposed to sunlight (e.g. about the acronym that dare not speak its name), MN mods were being subjected to coercive control. One mod in particular misunderstood and seemed to think LangCleg was accusing the mods of exercising coercive control, and no amount of explanation could get them to see otherwise. Justine backed up the mod - as you'd expect from a boss, perfectly admirable - but unfortunately it was clear she believed the same misunderstanding. And so one of the forum's most knowledgeable and articulate voices on safeguarding was banned.

DesidaCrick · 23/04/2022 12:54

How short sighted, I didn’t appreciate this. We need more safeguarding expertise!

endofthelinefinally · 23/04/2022 13:37

The issue with Langcleg was just illustrated in the most recent post. confusion between the words "monitor" and "moderator".
Monitors being the external people trying to silence women and moderators being the people employed by MN to moderate posts.

Whoops, yes, first sentence should have said "delightful external monitors".

Lynnikins · 24/04/2022 10:47

Agreed.

PeaceLurking9to5 · 24/04/2022 16:07

Agreed. Bit cowardly of mn to have banned her.

endofthelinefinally · 24/04/2022 19:42

The latest speakers corner video is up on you tube.

MrsDanversBroom · 25/04/2022 15:43

I would like to ask Mumsnet HQ whether they still ban people for holding beliefs which "are worthy of respect in a democratic society" - didn't the Maya ruling change everything?

DisgustedofManchester · 25/04/2022 17:04

I agree, I mean, do Mumsnet have many sponsors/advertisers left?

PurpleBirch · 25/04/2022 17:13

Agreed

JellyfishandShells · 25/04/2022 19:36

Yes, please do !

MrMrsJones · 29/04/2022 07:41

Who runs MN, men and or handmaid's?

Certainly not women who stand up for women's rights....perhaps its about the money?

nzborn · 29/04/2022 08:20

I got confused I saw this was started in 2018, can't believe she is still banned, please bring her back.

howard97A · 29/04/2022 13:06

The corruption of language that TRA's are able to enforce is disastrous for society in general and women in particular.

MNHQ, please allow women to use plain, honest language.

Wasabiaddiction · 19/06/2022 13:20

Agreed

Fimofriend · 23/06/2022 12:08

Agreed and Mumsnet should also apologize for Posie did nothing wrong.

Littlecas4 · 23/06/2022 12:59

MNHQ, please allow women to use plain, honest language.

As long as its not saying anything against Posie, right monitors?

I quite like that all the monitors contribute to the views and thus MN's continued income.
