Posie Parker is just in make-up and about to go up against Mr Harrop. Please tune in and send her lots of good vibes!

Anyone got the link? Please tell me she put our point across well, I’m tense 😬

duffed · 26/09/2018 16:59

He sounds like a bullying man behind a computer - she spoke very clearly.

bit biased to mention posie's unfounded charge and twitter blockings and not Harrops twitter harassments but ho hum.

I LOVED the Ms, Mr and Mrs exchanges - made him come across as very misogynistic and silly.

NoseringGirl · 26/09/2018 16:59

Good to see Posie get the last word. Bet Harrop was just glad to get his face on the telly again though.

OvaHere · 26/09/2018 16:59

Posie did really well in the face of that given the presenter wasn't terribly unbiased.

Unfortunately I think a lot of people watching might chalk this up to a personal grudge because Harrop made it very clear this is a long running spat between them.

AllAtHome · 26/09/2018 16:59

I thought she came across very well considering there seemed to be bias against her.

Shame this thread has to be 'hidden' in feminism and not in chat.

SwiftNC · 26/09/2018 17:00

I know! Women appropriate the word women. Seriously! 😂

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/09/2018 17:00

He sounds like a bullying man behind a computer - she spoke very clearly.

That's what it was! I couldn't put my finger on it. Harrop was speaking in tweets.

MipMipMip · 26/09/2018 17:00

I believe the slug is still in training. Is he legally allowed to call himself a doctor yet? At what point does it kick in?

scepticalwoman · 26/09/2018 17:01

Wonders whether Harrop was being interviewed during his working time about his personal prejudices?

MyYoniFromHull · 26/09/2018 17:01

He admitted on TV that there's nothing wrong with the definition, it was the thinking behind it he objected to

BadasIwannaB · 26/09/2018 17:01

He reminds me of Stilton Cheesewright from Jeeves and Wooster

TerfedOff · 26/09/2018 17:01

That was hilarious. Ended very well for Posie I thought.

Adrian is not TV genic is he? No chance of a media career there.

littlbrowndog · 26/09/2018 17:01

I don’t think she had time tbh
He kept trying to get back in and talk over her

She was so good

2cats2many · 26/09/2018 17:01

He's a patronising fucker

PositivelyPERF · 26/09/2018 17:01

Posie, you were breathtakingly fabulous. Good grief woman, you blew that creep out of the water and didn’t let the interviewer talk over you. Amazing, absolutely amazing! There will be reports on the news later, of strange pinging noises throughout the uk and NI, but it will just be the sound of thousands more hitting the peak! 😁

averylongtimeago · 26/09/2018 17:02

How can a woman "appropriate " the word "woman???
Dr is he really a Dr? misogynist didn't co e across very well, patronising git.
Glad Posie got the last word, so often on this type of interview it's the other way round.

FloralBunting · 26/09/2018 17:02

Well done Posie. That was as suitably angry as needed, and Harrop illustrated the blank look of the ideologue very well by the end. Posie, as usual, stood up for herself with style and clarity.

PencilsInSpace · 26/09/2018 17:02

Brilliant Posie!

Weezol · 26/09/2018 17:02

Love the way PP did this - her failure to refer to him as Dr really got under his skin.
His assertion that PP was 'appropriating' the dictionary definition of Woman was corking, as was his admission he wanted the billboard down because of who had paid for it rather than what it actually said.

Mr Harrop, I do believe your slip is showing.

heresyandwitchcraft · 26/09/2018 17:03

Brava Posie! Flowers

littlbrowndog · 26/09/2018 17:03

He was doing mouthy mouthy in background. Hahaha

SwiftNC · 26/09/2018 17:04

He was trying to talk down to her in his patronising nasal whine - who the fuck does he think he is?

Melamin · 26/09/2018 17:04

It was a bit messy; he kept throwing shit until he dug himself into a hole. Posie held it together. Finished of nicely.

hackmum · 26/09/2018 17:04

I love her but I wish she had explained more clearly why it's important not to let the term 'woman' be redefined - i.e. the loss of female-only spaces and what that means for our actual safety

I'd have liked that too, but given the limitations of the format, and how intimidating it must be, she did amazingly well. She was very calm and focused and used clear, plain language. She made it all very simple. Harrop, on the other hand, became increasingly agitated and unhinged and aggressive. More convinced than ever that this man should never be allowed anywhere near patients.

nicenewdusters · 26/09/2018 17:06

OMG Posie was tremendous ! Stayed cool and calm, even when the interviewer threw in the bit about being interviewed by Yorkshire police. She totally managed to make it about misogyny, attempts to silence women talking about their lived experience, and the dictionary definition of what is a woman.

Dr Harrop came across as an enraged LBGT campaigner who desperately wanted to paint Posie as suggesting trans men were all abusers.

The idiot said at the end that trans people in liverpool were frightened to go about their business because of the poster saying Woman, Adult Human Female. Posie's face was a picture, and asked if he really meant that a poster with a dictionary definition of a word was really scaring men in Liverpool ? !!
