LangCleg · 21/09/2018 09:15

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 21/09/2018 09:19

jeez louise MNHQ, on what grounds did that get deleted

I googled hairy little poet tran-i-am (the name of the poet and poem) to try to find the poem as I really enjoyed it

you do not want to know what google throws up when you type the words tran and hairy into the search box

Datun · 21/09/2018 09:20

Fuck me. Was it my transphobic pentameter?

Barracker · 21/09/2018 09:22

So many great posts on this thread.

WhereDoWeBeginToCovetClarice · 21/09/2018 10:20

Fucking hell Barracker this is inspired:

It's a HATE cRHYME

Makes me want to become a rapper and bastardise it as my MC name.

SophoclesTheFox · 21/09/2018 10:23

Barracker and Bernard - lol!

It gets verse and verse.

BettyDuMonde · 21/09/2018 10:25

Haikan’t pushed me over the edge 😂

LangCleg · 21/09/2018 10:27

Metaphors be with you, Barracker and Bernard.

arranfan · 21/09/2018 10:31

Simile - I echo LangCleg 's good wishes to Barracker and Bernard

B&B's facility with words makes me feel that it's money for old tropes for them in many ways...

ALittleBitofVitriol · 21/09/2018 11:16

Thanks for the googlefu info. Epic. Poepic.

R0wantrees · 22/09/2018 09:28

Just an aside, I was reading a BBC article which has been added to the BBC Bias thread and was interested to note:

'Writer and broadcaster Paris Lees transitioned when she was a teenager. She has not applied for a GRC but her passport says she's female. She told the BBC anything to make the transitioning process "just a little bit easier" was "long overdue and great news".

So Debbie Hayton, Jane Fae and Paris Lees all of whom have being influential & had a lot of opportunities to speak on MSM while being open about being transgender have not wanted a GRC.

When rapists, paedophiles and people in prison can obtain GRC, I'm not sure how much easy it can be made.

EA gender reassignment category

Is there an official definition of gender reassignment? Because it seems to mean different things depending on who you talk to - some it's facial surgery, others it's breast surgery, others it's surgery on genitals.

That's not at all open to interpretation. Hmm

Datun · 22/09/2018 11:19

ZuttZeVootEeVro

Gender reassignment under the EA means anything from deciding to be trans, to fully transition. Significant part is merely deciding.

Gender reassignment surgery, can also be anything, from boobs, to removal of gonads, to facial feminisation, etc.

It's fairly meaningless and all encompassing

ZuttZeVootEeVro · 22/09/2018 11:57

Thanks for that, so

A person has the protected characteristic of gender reassignment if the person is proposing to undergo, is undergoing or has undergone a process (or part of a process) for the purpose of reassigning the person's sex by changing physiological or other attributes of sex.

Significant part is merely deciding.

So if you intend to say, get a boob job, but never get round to it, you can still be protected under gender reassignment?

I hope they are more motivated then I am with diets. If I was to be recognised as having all of the weight loss programs I intended to do, doctors would be worried about how thin I am. Hmm
