I love this. Particularly her point about cognitive dissonance.

OP posts:

Delirious

Polestar50 · 13/09/2018 00:05

Ha ha. Jesus that was one unfortunate typo there!!!

Delurking (and definitely not delirious) here to add my voice.

Courage calls to courage. I’ll do what I can to spread the word about this nonsense and people like Posie help give me the words.

BeUpStanding · 13/09/2018 00:13

I thought it was quite apt! This whole debate often makes me feel delirious Grin.

Part of Posie's power is that she gives women permission to say No! This is not ok. This is bullshit. Lies and bullshit. It's wrong and it's dangerous.

Bolloxio · 13/09/2018 00:15

Fantastic rant. I am another though who cannot really speak up about this shit. I was targeted on the 'Labour against tranphobia' list of evil witches and it was terrifying so now I name change constantly and have removed so many of my posts on other forums incase they dox me. Not that arsed about myself, but I have seen kids targeted in this stuff so I just cannot allow them to possibly harm my kids. That may sound 'hysterical' but I swear I am extremely scared of these MRA/TRA/incels.

Bolloxio · 13/09/2018 00:16

Also I can't believe Posie is banned, fucking ridiculous.

BOO32 · 13/09/2018 06:46

I hope MNHQ all watch that video and then have a good think about why they have allowed men to set the rules on the feminist section of this website.

Jux · 13/09/2018 10:46

MNHQ have been quite disappointing in their handling of this issue. At first, they were great, would not allow the FWR boards tobe shut down and stood up in the face of bullying.

Now. Not so much.

TRUTH is more important than transient social appeasement.

VickyMcQueen · 13/09/2018 16:10

MNHQ are pathetic.

PerverseConverse · 13/09/2018 19:23

I've just completed the GRA consultation. My head hurts.

MnerXX · 13/09/2018 19:24

Banning posie for that comment is disgraceful. Why can’t we call out MPs when they are dodging tricky questions?

I’m trying to find a time when I can watch it again Grin

Yes - Let Posie back on. Please.

UnderHerEye · 13/09/2018 21:19

Come on MNHQ re instate Posie!

I think in light of recent revelations, including but not limited to JB, DC/AC, And KW where women and children have been assaulted, and put at risk because safeguarding is being pushed back then i think it’s important that every voice who supports the safeguarding of women and children needs to be heard.

AnyFucker · 13/09/2018 21:21

Respect

Ereshkigal · 13/09/2018 21:31

Please reinstate Posie.

I agree, Toe

I have not been deleted recently for calling men put

AnyFucker · 13/09/2018 21:54

*out

Jux · 13/09/2018 22:18

I really don't think people should be banned for speaking the truth.
I think MNHQ's policy here is bollox and ill-thought through.

I really, really think Posie should be reinstated, whether she wants to come back or not.

rightreckoner · 13/09/2018 22:26

I think MNHQ backed themselves into a corner with those rules. Karen White has been helpful in this one regard. No one thinks Karen White is a woman. So MNHQ are struggling to enforce a rule that they clearly do not believe in.

I basically left MN after those rules came in. Back for a bit to follow up on the consultations and share any responses I get from the relevant authorities. But I am not someone who can be told to lie and I didn't think MNHQ was a place where we had to lie.

EenyMeenyMinyNo · 13/09/2018 22:36

I'm new here & want to add my voice. I was the polite, nice, inclusive one. Then I read ton loads of stuff and am fucking angry. My daughter just started secondary school, this rant is beautiful, she watxhed a lot ifit with me, and we ended up in an amazing discussion afterwards. I have the job thing to consider a little further, but I can't thank you all enough for the clarity you have given. And am currently planning strategies for recruitment!

ToeToToe · 13/09/2018 23:05

Thank you EenyMeeny. I would like to see every lurker joining - even if only anonymously on MN at the moment.

We should all have our voices heard. I'm nowhere near Posie's bravery yet - but I aspire to be. SO should MNHQ. We ARE the right side. On the side of females. Smile

www.netflix.com/title/80023078

I'm halfway through watching this on Netflix. I am a second wave feminist - I don't think I ever identified with the third wave at all. I just lived through it thinking all the important battles had already been won.

Never did I think this backlash on women's rights would happen so quickly.

We're back to Women's Liberation again. Believe it.

ToeToToe · 13/09/2018 23:13

I meant to say I am in spirit* a second wave feminist. I'm too young to have lived through the actual movement. But in spirit, I'm there. I think we're still fighting those same battles. The opposition has changed somewhat, though. (But it's still penis related).
