A twitter account is saying that stickers in Manchester Oxford Road station have razor blades behind them put there by TERFS. If you are terfblocked you won't be able to view.

Have not read the full thread yet, as Too busy laughing at this

“How large and thick are these stickers that they're concealing blades without betraying a bulge?”

ShrodingersSturdyPyjamas · 06/09/2018 20:14

As a keen jam maker, stickers are the bane of my existence [well, during July anyway]. I usually have to soak in hot water, remove at just the right moment between loose enough to scrape off, and set hard 4 ever; then slide a knife up and down for 10 mins and then use some sort of abrasive to get all the glue off.

I imagine taking a huge bowl of very hot water around Manchester, and removing walls to soak in the water until just hot enough - was pretty memorable! Hats off to them. I'm sure they caught the photos and will be on here later to show us them.

arranfan · 06/09/2018 20:14

a new product, bit like swarfega called "terfega"

How serendipitous that the very people to encounter these booby-trapped stickers were carrying sample pots in their bags! And that, despite their frayed and lacerated digits, were nonetheless prepared to remain there and wipe away every trace of the sticker and product.

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 06/09/2018 20:26

arranfan, it is fortuitous isn't it? But that's what makes them real women: good at multitasking, impervious to pain, and never leaving the house without a full complement of cleaning products.

OlennasWimple · 06/09/2018 20:27

Ooh, I just noticed that we are seguing into a live birth thread here Smile

Good luck with everything Toolshed - especially the gender assignation process after delivery Wink

ABitCrapper · 06/09/2018 20:28

Have absolutely loved this thread. Although I am very disappointed not to get a PM, that will "learn" me for mainly lurking.

I am really taken with the idea of putting little notes behind the stickers.

Things like "Boo! It's the Spanish Inquisition!"
"Try using coconut oil instead of suncream"
"Save ironing your clothes until after you've put them on"
"Yes you absolutely can microwave an egg in its shell toward boil it"

ABitCrapper · 06/09/2018 20:31

Depressingly I can tell you that babywipes are pretty good at removing stickiness. I use washable cloth wipes/nappies and flannels on the kids but keep a non eco pack of Tesco wipes for cleaning emergencies. Although they do take the paint off IKEA furniture so be warned.

thebewilderness · 06/09/2018 20:32

I am so excited that you are bringing forth a tiny tool!

Glad to hear it was another hoax. Not the tiny tool, the stickers.

AndYetItMoves · 06/09/2018 20:34

About 30 years ago, my mother wallpapered the bathroom. It was a painful process apparently, and before she finished the last wall, she wrote: "Cursed be ye for removing this wallpaper" on the wall and papered over.

I was always going to be a witch, wasn't I?

thebewilderness · 06/09/2018 20:34

ABitCrapper
Me too! Bad fortune stickers would be brilliant.

arranfan · 06/09/2018 20:38

"Try using coconut oil instead of suncream"
"Save ironing your clothes until after you've put them on"
"Yes you absolutely can microwave an egg in its shell toward boil it

Reckless endangerment of others, Mumsnet style!

BettyDuMonde · 06/09/2018 20:41

I found a signature and a date under some wallpaper. 1952. Took a photo before I painted over it 😂

I like the idea of life-advice under stickers,

‘Eat vegetables’
‘Do squats’
‘Don’t waste time on boys who make you cry’

ABitCrapper · 06/09/2018 20:48

Ooh chow exciting - they won't know whether it's bad advice or good advice!!

How about "lemon juice is good to clean limestone garden furniture"
"Make and freeze Marguerite's in case of an unexpected cocktail party"
"Don't eat eggs, beans and chips before a yoga class"

ABitCrapper · 06/09/2018 20:50

I think this is much more fun than razor blades, cheaper too! Grin

Although the ironing clothes while wearing them could result in a nasty burn. As if anyone could be that stupid obvs whistles and looks nonchalant, not me, no sirree Grin

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 06/09/2018 20:51

Grin for so many of you!

And hooray for tiny tool shed (tool box?)

I think my brother likes to write scary messages in reddish brown (old blood colour) paint under wallpaper.

Betty you've ruined it now, fancy confirming there were no stickers. I'll have to go back to the serious threads.
What would I hide under the stickers? Dead spiders. That'd put people off.

Evidencebased · 06/09/2018 21:09

I wonder if some of us are being a bit lighthearted, given some of the stuff that’s been found behind stickers....

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 06/09/2018 21:17

Not pressing that link now youve said that

Turph · 06/09/2018 21:18

8bit meme, should have done it without the text...

Ereshkigal · 06/09/2018 21:18

Sometimes there is no better place than Twitter Grin

TinselAngel · 06/09/2018 21:21

Could one of the pieces of under sticker advice be "dress your age", or would that be too harsh?

ToeToToe · 06/09/2018 21:22

Evidencebased - hilarious thread Grin Thank you.

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 06/09/2018 21:29

Those are gold!

2rebecca · 06/09/2018 21:31

Love the comments under Evidence Based's link. TRAs don't do humour, or irony. Just "brave and stunning"and totally self obsessed and permanently offended.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 06/09/2018 22:01

Olive oil. On jam labels. It really works.
