Apparently Aimee's resigned. Unfortunately the link isn't working so I can't post it here, but I have it on good authority that it's genuine.

Let's hope so.

Also Mhairi Black wasn't thrust into positions of power, she WON election in her own right, whereas Aimee has just been given jobs on the basis of nothing.

Ekphrasis · 27/08/2018 07:55

Because of brave and stunning innit.

Whereas Mhairi Black has been called a cunt many, many times for her efforts.

Now who have I just seen use that word...?

xxmarksthespot · 27/08/2018 08:06

"How can someone with such a deeply troubled background have been allowed to run for deputy leader of a major political party, at 20"

Not just their background. Their behaviour as a party member like trying to get court injunctions against another Green Party member who wanted to speak against self ID, that should have been a disciplinary offence. Like being the LGBT rep but showing such contempt for lesbians, should have shown they were unfit for office. Like creating the terfblocker list, anti-woman and anti-democratic.

Where are the Green Party's standards ? They are dazzled by the TRAs and all sense goes out of the window.

The trans activism agenda does not make sense as an environmental policy, regardless of anything else. We know hormones in the water system are affecting wildlife; we know plastic in the oceans are killing fish; we know consumerism is bad for the environment- and the trans agenda seems about consumerism of things which we want to be cutting down on, not increasing use of.

I know KataraJean. You’d think the party that wants to improve the environment would want women on their side (all the non-men according to them). After all natal women are more than half the global population, they tend to make the household purchasing decisions and some of them even have jobs now where they can influence things /s

Good to see the GP are doing so well with their aims that they can afford to piss off more than half the population.

Charliethefeminist · 27/08/2018 09:43

Just want to say that Green Party Co leader merrily continued to post right up until yesterday evening, jolly little tweets about eco get together replete with exclamation marks etc. No mention of the case, no tweeting of the Green party statement, no respectful 'this has happening, thoughts with victim, party will be issuing statements etc.'. He is getting off scott free. Absolute no acknowledgment that a green party HQ was a paedophile torture chamber.

Charliethefeminist · 27/08/2018 09:44

In fact I'm starting a thread - his silence is shameful

StringandGlitter · 27/08/2018 09:48

It trips you up doesn’t it TriptychTwins

On a thread a couple of weeks ago I was talking about a very famous trans person who was on telly. I thought I don’t want to use “she” as this person famously uses their male identity to access their exclusive male-only golf club, so IMO they are only going for the bra and highheels version of being a women and not the shitty discrimination part. Women don’t get to identify out of the shitty bit. I can’t use “he” because of MN guidelines. I know, I’ll use their initials. What’s there initials? My brain defaulted to their male initials and MN doesn’t have an edit feature. Hmm. Genuine mistake and not deliberate.

All that mental gymnastics and I still got it wrong. It makes speaking your truth so much harder. It made me think of that women who got told off in court by the judge for using wrong pronouns about Tara Wolf as she was giving testimony. She was unable to give her witness statement without internally policing her language.

StringandGlitter · 27/08/2018 09:49

Also see lack of edit function *their initials Blush

TerfsUp · 27/08/2018 09:55

Aimee will not be undertaking any official Green Party roles while the party urgently looks into the circumstances which allowed this situation to arise

Translation: Aimee will still be working behind the lines. Once we think evil terfs everyone has forgotten about it, Aimee will be back in harness.

In other words: nothing to see here; move along.

TerfsUp · 27/08/2018 09:57

Where are the Green Party's standards

Where were they when they allowed David Challoner, a convicted animal abuser, from being an election agent? Or from campaigning on their behalf and using his house as their HQ in Coventry?

TerfsUp · 27/08/2018 09:58

Ooops. Should have said "When they allowed, David Challoner, a convicted animal abuser, to be an election agent".

TerfsUp · 27/08/2018 09:59

"I request privacy for me and my disabled mum"

Odd that. Coming from a family who were desperate for public attention.

AncientLights · 27/08/2018 10:01

StringandGlitter I still don't know who you're talking about! A whole paragraph of self-censoring, still not communicating the essential point.

They have won if we do that.

StringandGlitter · 27/08/2018 10:07

Ancient lights, I was posting in a thread about Caitlin Jenner.

AnyFucker · 27/08/2018 10:13

They have won if we do that

No they haven't. So MNHQ delete you ? Call the fucking cops. Jesus.

String was talking about Bruce Jenner.

Juells · 27/08/2018 10:29

The hatred of women, by men who insist that they are women, is frightening. They'd like to be rid of us and just keep the dresses and heels.

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/08/2018 10:30

My position on feminism is fast evolving. I’ve always believed in equality, like many people wasn’t crazy about the baggage that went with the word feminism, but now I fit the definition of a radical feminist.

This was me too, although I hit #peaktrans a while back, thanks entirely to threads here.

nocoolnamesleft · 27/08/2018 20:42

The father is a nasty piece of shit. I dread to think what impact it would have on a child to have such a father. I really, really hope Aimee and their siblings have not also faced abuse. But the possibility does make it slightly hard for me to condemn Aimee's actions as much as I otherwise would. At the least, the father was probably an expert in grooming.

EnormousDormouse · 27/08/2018 21:32

This is depressing - Ben Goldacre 'liking' Aimee's post.

You'll be advocating for stopping women’s access to HRT then?

Carrrotsandcauliflower · 27/08/2018 23:35

Ben Goldacre. That is depressing.

TooManyBooksTooLittleTime · 27/08/2018 23:41

Just read the 'where doesTRA money come from' thread. medium.com/@sue.donym1984/inauthentic-selves-the-modern-lgbtq-movement-is-run-by-philanthropic-astroturf-and-based-on-junk-d08eb6aa1a4b

Someone should tweet Ben Goldacre that link, looks like Bad Science at it's finest.

heresyandwitchcraft · 27/08/2018 23:44

Ben Goldacre is backing the trans activist narrative?
(buries face in hands and despairs)
