Thanks, Orchid. That's good. If I'd done this a couple of weeks ago, I'd have written something very moderate and reasonable-sounding. What I'm going to write now is going to be filled with rage and disgust. I want these people to know how much I despise them and their cowardly kowtowing to evil, depraved people of the likes of Challoner, all because they are so busy trying to polish their liberal credentials that they have abandoned all critical thought entirely. I am even more enraged now at Maria Milller's "purporting to be feminists" comment than I was at the time.

I did read last night (can’t remember where now) that the Chanellors had run a successful Facebook campaign to get their children returned to them from the care system. I guess it’s related to that?

I dont understand. A man is arrested/questioned about very serious sexual offenses three years ago and a horror attic is found in his small home. Three children, assuming they are no longer in care, live there, the eldest AC is about 17. The man is on bail? Allowed to remain in the family home? Note the victim would have been a couple of years younger than AC so presumably around the age of one of the siblings.

Surely at that point some conditions were imposed. No contact with non-family minors, particularly in that house, perhaps. Conditions that the wife and chikdren would have to be aware of. (Dont bring friends home, etc.) And surely SS would want to gently question the children to be certain that they had not suffered similar abuse. Or fight hard through family courts to ensure the children were not returned from care.

It does not add up.

Tina may have been groomed. It's still extraordinarily distasteful to equate her situation to that of Jews in the holocaust!

I don't know where his shit ended and hers began but Tina is not an innocent victim. She was also prosecuted for animal abuse (and received the same sentence as David). The reason Aimee was on the CP register from birth was because her older children had been taken into care.

She is very damaged clearly but she cannot be exonerated just because she is a woman.

It most definitely does not! There is no way in hell TC was not made aware of the nature of the charges against her husband given that she had children living in the house and he would be returning to the house. SS will have been all over them. Even without their history prior to the charges.

Oh no doubt Tina was abused - the seven children and twelve miscarriages alone point to her husband attempting to keep her barefoot and chained to the kitchen sink. And of course the FII could relate to anxiety around her husbands abusive behaviour...

But there still comes a point where we (general we) have to stop digging for a cause for each persons behaviour, or it'll go on for ever (perhaps DC was abused, perhaps DCs abuser was abused, etc etc etc)

Thanks to the poster who put the BBC complaint link. I've been reading the posts on here with a growing sense of disbelief. I've now complained to the bbc asking why this wasn't considered newsworthy.
