someone should answer for this

OP posts:

I don’t know if Mesmac have had any direct involvement with this case (probably not). They have provided training for this student’s high school (as well as Barnardos) and the HT seems very ‘pro’ trans from the quotes in the Grauniad article.

Theswaggyotter · 16/06/2018 21:27

That story demonstrates everything that is wrong about transing of children. A girl with 4 older brothers is a tomboy and wants short hair and is therefore trans! Sad
What a distaster for that child - can only hope the doctors they see will encourage them to hold off for a few years at least, and that Mum doesn’t go ahead and buy the hormones online instead of waiting for assessment

Giddy99 · 16/06/2018 21:29

Wow so judgemental, How many of you have actually had personal experience of bringing up a child that is not happy with their gender. You have made assumptions about the parents, Munchausen's, the age of the mother for having lots of children.
I hope the mother does not ever read this post as its just vile to see another women being slated in such a way when she is only doing what her child wants. At 12 children are quite independant and do know their own minds . Puberty blockers will stop his breasts growing, which to a child like Gabriel would be very disturbing,
The mother is taking him to a gender clinic, which is the right thing to do, she is supporting her child, Are any of you gender councillors, or able to offer sensible advice to both of them or is your knowledge just from propaganda found in newspapers and on forums, Each child is different and should be treated as an individual.
Who are you to judge,

RubyShooFan · 16/06/2018 21:30

That’s disturbing, they sound incompatible with what safeguarding should be in schools. The fact that schools are inviting pressure groups in to ‘train’ staff is yet another problem with Academies. I could rant about Academies nearly as much as I could rant about transgender ideology. Never mind I’m sure in about 15 years time lots of ‘lessons will be learned!’ But we’ll still ignore the latest tactics predators are using to circumvent safeguarding!

SophoclesTheFox · 16/06/2018 21:33

Giddy, I was the child who wasn't happy with their gender.

Completely horrified by my developing body.

As were many other women here. That's what makes it so horrifying and real for us - we look at that child and see echoes of ourselves.

This doesn't come from a place of ignorance and bigotry, believe me.

OldCrone · 16/06/2018 21:34

Giddy99
Children should be allowed to grow up and only make radical decisions about irreversible changes to their body when they are old enough and mature enough to understand all the consequences.

Pratchet · 16/06/2018 21:34

Giddy: did you read the thread?

OP posts:
Giddy99 · 16/06/2018 21:38

Pratchet: Yes I did thank you.

busyboysmum · 16/06/2018 21:39

I'm actually horrified at the deletions on this thread which are merely posts that referred to the child as being female which the child is and will always be..

Censorship in action.

TransplantsArePlants · 16/06/2018 21:40

yup

Sarahconnor1 · 16/06/2018 21:40

Giddy99

Based on this article there is not much difference between me and the child. Hated wearing skirts preferred boys pastimes don't wear make up often have short hair blah blah blah.

You know what my mum did? She didn't enforce gender stereotypes on me she certainly didn't try to get me to wear make up at 12 years old. She let me wear what I wanted play with the toys I wanted etc. I see nothing in the article other than a child who doesn't want to conform to gender stereotypes.

So why can't we just let that happen. Why does the child now have to go down the medical route to fit into another gender box?

Lifesavingorange · 16/06/2018 21:42

I presume I can’t repeat what I said in my deleted post as I’ll be deleted again, but it was pretty much as you suggest busyboys.

Utterly reprehensible MNHQ.

mancheeze · 16/06/2018 21:47

its just vile to see another women being slated in such a way when she is only doing what her child wants

That's the problem, 'doing what the CHILD wants.' Children do all sorts of things to explore, but what we're saying is not to MUTILATE a child and tell them falsehoods by jumping on the trans bandwagon.

At 12 children are quite independant and do know their own minds

Considering you don't stop brain development until your 20's, children at 12 are just that, CHILDREN, and should not be messed with. Let the kid wear whatever she wants, explore, but for fucks sake we KNOW that most kids will grow out of this crap. They don't need to be dragged to a gender clinic and mutilated.

Puberty blockers will stop his breasts growing, which to a child like Gabriel would be very disturbing

There are no other psychological disorders where we mutilate bodies to control the delusional thoughts. Blockers cause an untold number of serious consquences like osteoporosis.

The mother is taking him to a gender clinic, which is the right thing to do, she is supporting her child

Supporting would be accepting the child wants to have short hair and wear pants. Supporting is not mutilating at a gender clinic.

Are any of you gender councillors, or able to offer sensible advice to both of them

Many of us don't need to be. We have research that shows kids grow out of this. Also, many of us grew up tomboys before there was a such a thing as a damned gender clinic.

RubyShooFan · 16/06/2018 21:47

I cannot believe comments have been deleted on this thread!!! I’m appalled and who are the sad acts reporting them? What’s there agenda?

busyboysmum · 16/06/2018 21:51

It's pathetic. Will not look good looking back.

This is a female child being sterilized at the age of 12 and made into a lifelong medical patient.

Humans cannot change their biological sex so this child is being fed a lie.

PointlessTV · 16/06/2018 21:52

I quoted someone who has been deleted. I have no email from MNHQ, is that one of my three strikes gone?

busyboysmum · 16/06/2018 21:54

No idea. I have no email either. Nothing I said was untrue or in any way abusive.

Dark times indeed.

doctorcuntybollocks · 16/06/2018 21:54

I think someone high up at mumsnet is fully on board with the trans agenda. This seems to go beyond corporate amorality.

I cannot believe there have been deletions no one has said anything that warrants it.. .

We were all this child. Hating pink and dresses and what society expected of us. We all spent years embarrassed and distressed at our developing or lack of developing bodies and it takes til adulthood to realise the problem isn't you but everyone else.

Most of us woukd have been transed if we had been growing up now not when we did.

Giddy99 · 16/06/2018 21:57

mancheeze

No child is being mutilated again that is showing ignorance about what happens at a gender clinic,
Do you think the family will take the lad into the clinic and hey presto, Gender surgery will take place,
Children at 12 need to be listened to and not patronised by parents.
Stop reading the mail and other such works of fantasy and check the real facts out.

nauticant · 16/06/2018 21:58

I actually disagree. I think mumsnet are fighting hard but don't know where to draw the line and are drawing the line in such a giving way that it'll take the line being overrun several times (with them re-drawing it each) that eventually they'll realise they should have stood their ground to support women and girls quite some while back.

RubyShooFan · 16/06/2018 22:01

This thread reminds me of a poem I saw on here months ago! I can’t remember who by, but I’ve chuckled at it ever since.

‘I like to take my cue,
From children as young as two,
It’s the liberal thing to do,
My brain is made of poo’

doctorcuntybollocks · 16/06/2018 22:01

Mumsnet will end up painted into a very tight corner and find that their nice new friends aren't so nice after all.

UpstartCrow · 16/06/2018 22:01

Supporting healthy children being sterilised is not something I'm ever going to do.
