I can't decide what I'm after... thinking ... Malibu - it would taste like holiday sun.. but a nice pint - I can almost smell that comfortable stale carpet smell of a flock-walled pub...

Somerville · 05/04/2019 19:03

Come have a Guinness or three with me in the corner AlunWynsKnee, m’dear.
Also can someone sit on my hands before I lose my shit on Twitter.

Sláinte!

TinselAngel · 05/04/2019 19:05

I used to be partial to a Southern Comfort and Lemonade back in the day. Also Archers Peach Schnapps.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 05/04/2019 19:06

as a child my drink was southern comfort and coke. I'm actually going out dancing this weekend (if you're in central London watch out for two forty something women terrorizing all the Indie kids by hogging the dance floor). I may try a southern and coke while I'm painting the town. Does it actually taste nice? I can't remember

Settles on settee with peppermint tea. Thanks. Anne, our school did an Easter Egg hunt and a cake sale today. My dc are hopped up on chocolate. I am also already exhausted but no school runs for a bit will be nice maybe.

Datun · 05/04/2019 19:10

It’s nice in here. Do we have a pub cat?

There is a cat. He/she is called Rumour. On account of the fact that those allergic never seem to see her/him.

Whilst those in need of something fluffy and knowing, see her all the time.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/04/2019 19:14

My dachshund sometimes puts in time as a pub dog, but I think he's still over on the banana porridge and cake thread.

There's a pair of donkeys in the paddock next to the beer garden, and a goat of course.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/04/2019 19:15

Meanwhile, I'm sure we stock all of these - I'd like to work my way down the list (not all at once!)

Hello! Never been here before, but can I join in? Love a cup of tea while I decide whether my sore throat means I should just not have one of my rare drinks today. Definitely need it after an all round exhausting few weeks where the victories pale in significance to the problems ahead, I was treated like shit, my comrade-in-arms who caught some of the fallout has now given up the fight, disillusioned and wholly exhausted, and I have to decide whether to soldier on alone or not. So I really need a drink but I might just need to stick to tea or I'll dissolve into an incoherent puddle in the corner.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/04/2019 19:19

Brew and sympathy in abundance.

WeRiseUp · 05/04/2019 19:20

Brew here you go charlie

VickyEadie · 05/04/2019 19:22

I'm off the booze mostly, but will take a virgin Mary, please.

AlunWynsKnee · 05/04/2019 19:33

Let me buy you a Guinness Somerville. There's a rugby match I owe you one for I think. :)
Iechyd da!

Daughterofmabel · 05/04/2019 20:04

Evening all. Nice to be back. Half a guiness please. Im so out of practice if I have a pint my face will go numb!

Somerville · 05/04/2019 20:10

That match Alun Shock
Never have I felt so split between terrible/wonderful. Crying with shame at how we played and laughing in delighted pleasure at the result at the same time.

RepealTheGRA · 05/04/2019 20:21

Mmm peach schnapps! Another fond memory.

AlunWynsKnee · 05/04/2019 20:27

We were chewing our nails off all day and then hysterical for most of the game. I still don't understand what went wrong for your boys. Very happy it did but you should have at least run us close.

GoodGravy · 05/04/2019 20:39

I just tried the new Peach flavour Coke Zero. It tastes like accheap peach shower gel that was aimed at the Pre-teen market. Do Not Bother.
I'd love a Beefeater martini, rocks and a twist. Sadly it is a 'low' day today, hence the cok zero.

GoodGravy · 05/04/2019 20:41

Err, that would be coke, not cok 😊

GPismyboss · 05/04/2019 20:43

Oh, a cat! Fluffy. Rumour sidetracked me and I’m still not changed.

ZebrasAreBras · 05/04/2019 20:47

Evening all Wine

Thought I'd look in. Years ago I used to drink in the feminist pub, which I think this thread originated from?

Those were the days - only saddo MRAs to deal with, rather than TRAs with the whole woke-brigade behind them Hmm

I've got Rumour the cat here with me. Cheers Smile

CisWomblingGenderFree · 05/04/2019 20:48

This rounds on me, I’ve self IDd as a very rich

I’m going to have a Brew and sit in the corner.

ZebrasAreBras · 05/04/2019 20:53

My dog would make an adorable pub dog. She's a Lab, and so lovely and friendly, and calm. She was a rescue dog, an ex breeding Lab, probably treated horribly, but she just loves all people.

Out for loan for anyone that needs a huge Labrador hug. (But you can't keep her Grin )

Cheers CisWombling Wine

uniquehornsonly · 05/04/2019 20:53

Thanks for the gin, Datun.

Somerville I'm in awe on your restraint on Twitter Grin And the whole genderfree shebang really. GRMA. Can I buy you a Guinness?

Somerville · 05/04/2019 20:56

Cok zero Grin

Dunno what’s gone wrong beyond injuries Alun or if there will be time before Japan to sort it.
We watched the match with loads of Welsh friends and a lone English masochist - one of the best nights of the year so far despite the result.
