Although I've just noticed the use of pink nail polish to show that it's a woman's hand Hmm

Womaningreen · 02/10/2018 10:25

Good card, I would like that for my tiny kitchen, where the alcohol looks a bit....like it dominates the tiny counter!

Barracker · 02/10/2018 19:36

I hardly ever pop in here, even though it seems so nice.

But I really, really need to just have a huge gin and to cry into it. The world is just a smidge past my craziness tolerance level today.

Hope noone minds.

SmellyHead · 02/10/2018 19:42

My resilience feels low today too, Barraker. I'm just going to sip a vodka tonic quietly. Maybe I'll perk up in a bit.

I feel like it's an uphill struggle because the bbc, MPs, nhs and so on all seem so deliberately obtuse about it all.

bluetitsaretits · 02/10/2018 20:26

GinGin for barracker and smellyhead
It's all so exhausting isn't it.

VickyEadie · 02/10/2018 20:28

I'm still at my Dad's. He's got live football on again (I like live football, but it's on so LOUD). I want to go home.

HerRoyalFattyness · 02/10/2018 20:29

Hello...can i pop in here?
Ive been learning so much from here lately.

terryleather · 02/10/2018 20:33

I'll have a hot toddy as there's a nip in the air here.

It absolutely is exhausting, tiresome, infuriating and depressing in varying proportions depending on the day.

All the booze for all of us that need it and a couple of Churchill quotes:

When you're going through hell keep going

Never, never, never give up

Cheers all! Gin Wine

SmellyHead · 02/10/2018 20:54

Posie's new billboard has cheered me up quite a bit :)

SmellyHead · 02/10/2018 21:07

https://www.facebook.com/100003299679086/posts/2196796523773649/ (new billboard)

Thanks for the drink and solidarity Thanks

arranfan · 02/10/2018 21:26

Popping in for perhaps a flavoured fizzy water as I need to carry on with work quite soon.

waves at HerRoyalFattyness and changing name to arranFatigue

Reaches down to stroke the pub dog.

TheTrickyWitch · 02/10/2018 21:35

I'll just sneak in to curl up on the sofa under a blanket with a lemsip.

Feeling the need for some quiet female solidarity in these turbulent times. But the new billboard is definitely most cheering Grin

3TresTrois · 02/10/2018 22:35

I’ll sprawl out on a sofa and drain the bottle of red I opened last night.

It’s been a right old day.

Heartened by Posie’s new billboard. Tired with life tonight, though.

FloralBunting · 02/10/2018 23:11

I am on a late, flood-happy lingering period, I have a cold which means incessant sneezing, runny nose and chapped lips, bullshit at work, bullshit at home, and I've just done the grocery shop and put it all away while every other git played on their phone.

So I am eating peanuts and drinking wine and swearing lots and lots.

arranfan · 02/10/2018 23:46

Very little now making sense to me. Maybe if the pub can rustle up a cocoa for me and I absorb the pleasant hubbub around me then I can feel some solidarity settling over me before I slip out and to my bed.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/10/2018 23:56

BrewBrewcocoa, lemsip .... is there any drink this pub doesn't stock?

FloralBunting · 02/10/2018 23:57

arran I am bashing my head repeatedly against the bar at this point, but I'm sure I can do cocoa.

arranfan · 03/10/2018 14:42

Belated thanks for the cocoa, it was just the business.

As was the feeling of acceptance and conviviality.

Acorninspring · 03/10/2018 16:14

The pub does everything! Though I am still on the diarolyte 😭😭

FloralBunting · 03/10/2018 16:17

I am thinking that right now the sound of indistinct bass thumping would be preferable to my kids arriving home and listening to kids TV really loudly.

Took some time today to do really self indulgent things like watch inappropriate telly in the middle of the day and eat rice pudding for breakfast. I feel much better for it.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/10/2018 16:36

Rice pudding for brekkie sounds great... it's not fundamentally different from WBH porridge, why do we have these strange conventions as to what is 'breakfast food'?

FloralBunting · 03/10/2018 19:11

I don't know, tbh. I'm not really into certain food only at breakfast. In fact, I think it's a point of some sadness that Macdonald's hash browns aren't available past 10.30.

Acorninspring · 03/10/2018 19:14

It's okay floral bunting I think the pub does them for breakfast

FermatsTheorem · 03/10/2018 19:16

This pub definitely does all day breakfasts. And all day rice puddings. It is the perfect pub.

FloralBunting · 03/10/2018 19:18

I have a family who are all breakfast food bods. They love their jammy toast and their Weetabix. I can't abide it. Give me a nice cup of tea and some potato or pasta salad and I'm fine.
