Isolation ward contains ensuite toilet (with magic toilet fairies which clean it), supremely comfortable bed with vair expensive bed linen, and an armchair for when you're feeling a bit better and can sit up. I’m pretty much getting my daily education from FWR at the moment, in addition to waking up to several emails each morning from my mum with interesting articles on self ID and the whole Trans thing. Think it’s fair to say she has spectacularly Peak Trans’d lately. Fair play, Mother!

Ssshhh but (whispers) sometimes I think we could all just sit here and watch the car crash that is going on as the nature of what women are being asked to accept is repeatedly revealed to the general public with minimal help from us all.

And then I look at the outstanding courage and commitment of so many women and get up and go off with my leaflets and emails and talking to people. Sleep well all.

I am trying to be cautiously braver myself but feel a bit constrained by my profession.

Really gutted that I haven't been able to get to any of the meetings due to work/kids etc. There is lots of really moving female solidarity here but it must be amazing to be surrounded in person by so many women who get it!

Evening all! Just in from a late shift of doing 'man's work' so I'm in need of a pint and some nuts (because I don't have any nuts of my own)

Just popping in for a swift one as I was looking for somewhere to vent and to avoid just posting a simple "ODFOD" elsewhere (that's an acronym for those who've been around a while probably!).

It's a bit late so no stimulants but I'd be grateful for some red bush tea with a smidgen of cardamom.

Too tired for chat but some hitches of the eyebrow and occasional eyeball would make me feel like I'm participating in a community activity.

Right up until the point where I slide to the floor in tiredness and feebly beg people to leave me be and just drop a blanket over me and pretend I'm not there. :)

Well, really it's decaf which I've just realised has gone cold so I'll let the dog have it and get fresh one. (Everyone ok with dogs in the pub? Mine is a dachshund so he fits neatly under the table)

Bloody, bloody knackered today. I had a meal for one stew and dumplings in the oven when I got in from work at 10.30 this evening and it was fecking horrible. Still, I kicked arse in my job today, and after three shifts where I have come home shaking, crying and beginning to hate humanity because of some members of the general public, it felt good to have a decent shift and get some praise and encouragement from my boss, and a real laugh with my (mostly female) colleagues.

Womaningreen haven't read the whole thread, but just dashed back in the doors to blast it on the dancefloor as R4 is on in the background and I am now listening to {stuff that I know I should leave at the door of this pub] and need to shake it off.

So I'm joining you on the dance floor! (Though I think our music tastes may be different!)

and whoever's on the comfy sofa budge up for floral.

I think the pub music is 'silent disco' so we don't inflict unwanted music on each other. Except for the odd classic which everyone should enjoy like R.E.S.P.E.C.T

Seriously, don't worry on my account, the bass line will just sound like a soothing heartbeat and lull me into deeper slumber.

Ah, sweet memories of going to sleep in crappy student digs next to a pub, and the sound of the music throbbing through the wall.
