Good... I put on some laundry and then - for the first time in ages, after a lapse from consistent exercise due to assorted issues - did level 1 of the 30 day shred. I'd meant to get back in the habit of doing it first thing, but overslept this morning... I needed a kick to get me going! So, thanks!Grin

Womaningreen · 20/08/2018 13:55

Ooh well done
30 mins tidying though more to do later

Now, workout time, nearly skipped it but as you have done it, I'm inspired, thanks!

BraveAndStunning · 20/08/2018 22:40

Anyone been on this thread? The poor abused OP is getting a further kicking from the posters. This is the time to be kind, ffs

I had a sensible conversation IRL with someone about all this stuff for the first time ever tonight.
We spent hours talking things through, understood each other, didn't agree on every single point but that doesn't matter, and there was no shouting TERF or threats of violence.
Not someone I expected, either.
It is so good to have someone IRL who I can talk to, who understands that biology matters. Feel better tonight than I have in a long time.

Womaningreen · 21/08/2018 19:49

Today I had a conversation with a male friend who had no idea that women didn't have their own loos in public in the past. I hope it made him stop and think a bit about why we're so protective of them.

FloralBunting · 23/08/2018 22:46

Having an evening of YouTube and some Jagged Little Pill. God Alanis is great when you're angry...

heresyandwitchcraft · 23/08/2018 22:49

That sounds delightful. Love a bit of Alanis. Hope you've had a better day today, Floral. Sorry you've been poorly.

FloralBunting · 23/08/2018 23:05

Cheers heresy! Actually it's been cast iron awful. But music soothes the broken heart.

FloralBunting · 25/08/2018 15:06

I am finding it really hard not to end every post with a single sentence saying 'Twat' right now.

heresyandwitchcraft · 25/08/2018 15:22

LOL. Same.

heresyandwitchcraft · 25/08/2018 15:23

How are you doing today, Floral? Are you on the mend?
Brew (or it might be late enough for Wine?)

FloralBunting · 25/08/2018 19:30

No wine tonight, I'm up before 6 for work tomorrow. The bug has passed, but I am exhausted and could have done with another day to rest, but real life don't work that way!

heresyandwitchcraft · 25/08/2018 19:43

Ach, Brew and Cake it is. That's frustrating. You really deserve some R&R.
Hope you get to take it easy this evening and work goes okay.

FloralBunting · 25/08/2018 19:47

Thanks m'dear! I'm having a nice late dinner, and bath and bed as early as I can.

FloralBunting · 30/08/2018 22:25

Right, that's it. I'm having a few days off MN. I'm beyond fucking livid at the NSPCC thing. I haven't got spare capacity to argue with people who don't care about child protection yet get lots of funding to pretend they do and I am weary of the lying fucking bullshit from the people who think this is fine and dandy.

@speakingwoman sorry to @ you, but I wanted to let you know I wasn't jumping ship from your very interesting gender thread, I am practising some self care so I can be back in the trenches at a later point, when I've come to terms with the fact that child abuse is still such a popular fucking idea that it's just not important for feminists and parents to worry about.

heresyandwitchcraft · 30/08/2018 22:31

Floral, I think I may do the same. This is all simultaneously infuriating and shattering.
Do take care of yourself. Flowers

speakingwoman · 30/08/2018 22:52

I shall digest what you said and await your return floral Tara for now.

IAmLurkacus · 30/08/2018 23:01

Flowers floral totally get it. I feel the same way. Every so often I dip in here or go and lurk on twitter to get more info, then I send another letter/email and speak to a few more people in RL.

The NSPCC thread upset me enough without reading the appalling responses to the poster on the other thread.

So I too will be going for now, but I will be back and we will win.

Thank you to all the regular posters who don’t name change who I’ve read for years who I’m comforted to know will still be here when I come back Flowers to you too.

ISaySteadyOn · 03/09/2018 16:07

Could I have a hand hold please? I have just had to disagree about something with a whole group of my friends. Nothing to do with current themes but hard all the same.

ISaySteadyOn · 03/09/2018 16:07

I hate disagreeing with people. But I did It.

AssassinatedBeauty · 03/09/2018 16:22

Well done for sticking up for your own opinions. I know how hard it is when you realise that friends have a totally different opinion about something important.

BettyDuMonde · 03/09/2018 18:42

Hand holding here ✋✋

ISaySteadyOn · 03/09/2018 18:46

And do you know what? Nothing awful happened. One friend said I made good points and another said I made my points well.

Datun · 03/09/2018 19:33

ISaySteadyOn

Well done. Occasionally when one sticks ones neck out, but can back it up has a tremendously positive effect.

New found respect, nodding in agreement, breaking the mould.

We are so conditioned to peacekeep. And I t's so ingrained that it overrides logic. But when that logic emerges, people think oh yeah there is, I like that.

ISaySteadyOn · 04/09/2018 05:58

Thanks. It was a discussion about preventing local pollution and people from one part hadn't thought about how it might affect people from my part (polluting mine more). So I had to say something.
