Morgane Oger, that well known "mom" of two, is running for mayor of Vancouver.

One planks of 'her' manifesto is shutting down the Vancouver Rape Relief Shelter because of its anti-trans policy.

Not spiteful at all.......

I just did the 'walkathon' I think. Whichever came as a default. I left a message indicating my reasons for finding and funding them, I hope that means they'll be used in the best way

I've set up a monthly PayPal donation in honour of the ogre. It's not much but I will keep giving until it has fucked off back to Mordor and VRR's funding is secure.

This one 'woman' campaign is just evil, spiteful and just shows how much empathy 'she' has with women who have been raped.

Absolutely. What kind of person agrees that this is a reasonable response to perceived 'transphobia'? Jesus.

So what the hell is going on in Canada. I dont see how you can lay this travesty of justice at the feet of one person (however odious). Half of the Canadian population are female, they have the vote and my understanding was that Canadian women were pretty active in politics.

So how is this happening? I should be able to hear the howls of outrage from here (S Yorkshire)?

Talking to pro trans Canadians online really feels like you're speaking to someone brainwashed. They just parrot TRA propaganda.

And when I say "pro trans" I mean the extreme ideology that TWAW and there is no difference between an MTF and a woman. Not people, like everyone on this thread, who believes everyone including trans people, should have human rights and is entitled to dignity and freedom from discrimination on the grounds of their gender identity or non conformingness.

To have everyone pander to their extremist ideology is not a human right.

Oger believes that NOT pandering to this extremist ideology is literally a crime. Oger keeps screeching for Meghan Murphy to be arrested for thought- and speech-crime. Glad the mounties haven't obliged Oger with that yet, but I worry it's not far off...

There is nothing in that article that even attempts to explain why keeping these services women-only is so essential.

I do agree with Oger that this is a symbolic act.

First, Oger threatens to kill off the service. Now, Oger is offering to come in and help 'educate' Vancouver Rape Relief. Can anyone honestly see this as anything other than an abusive threat? Forgive me if this is sensitive, but I can't see this act as anything other than a metaphorical rape.

It's so visceral to me, I can't understand how it's not utterly, glaringly obvious. How can a government go along with this? Women go along with this? We KNOW that tone. It makes me feel sick to my stomach.

I’ve also donated in ogre’s honour, this sickens me. The reporting that VRR doesn’t “include trans people” is also presumably wrong - they would (I hope) include transmen, as they are biologically women.

Of course, if the article said they won’t “include males who identify as women” it would be all too obvious why VRR takes the stance it does.
