Transwomen are biologically male. They are born biologically male and they remain biologically male.

I accept that it must be very hard to suffer from gender dysphoria. I wish transwomen well. I support their right not to be discriminated against in housing, employment and in life in general.

But biology matters. It is biology which means that women in Ireland and across South America and in many other parts of the world are the ones who get pregnant and are then forced to give birth against their will by political systems that deny them the right to abortion. It is biology which enables people in cultures which practice FGM to recognise which babies are female and thus decide which ones' genitals need slicing off with rusty razor blades. It is biology which dictates which foetuses are aborted simply for being female, which infants are allowed to die simply for being female. It is biology which means we are, on average, smaller and less physically strong than men and thus at higher risk of domestic violence up to and including murder (2 a week in this country, into the hundreds in Russia which has recently legalised domestic violence).

I am not prepared to lie about biology. Facts matter. The intersection of facts and political beliefs matters.

I am Spartacus. Human beings are male or female. There is no “brain sex”. There is no being born in the wrong body. There is no changing sex. Delusions, paraphilias, internalised homophobia or misogyny or both - none of this makes changing sex a possibility, much less a reality.

Why should i, Or anyone else be made to lie that male is female or be silenced? Yes, I'm Spartacus. For all the reasons already given by many other women before me. No one transitions from one sex to the other, it's biological, objective fact and I can't even believe we women have to justify not be penalised for speaking plain English and not bullshitting, just for some male's vanity and satisfaction in controlling other people. There is no medical condition involving "being born in the wrong sex body".
"Gender identity" is a non-scientific belief system.
Some males may very much want to be female, may even believe they ARE female; that does not make them female, and they can never become female. Humans cannot change sex.

Here is why we are saying what we are saying. The intention is to demobilise women and girls. Are they surprised this is getting a pushback?

Sex cannot be changed. It is no good the Minister shaking his head. Sex is decided by the chromosomes of a human being. If we have XX chromosomes, we are women; if we have XY chromosomes, we are men. I might perhaps accept the Bill if an additional requirement for registering changes of gender were that it had been discovered that those concerned had inappropriate chromosomes for the sex in which they had been registered. My religion is not gender! We still have the right to choose our beliefs, and the right to be free form the beliefs of others being imposed upon us. No one can mandate belief. I know biology exists because I am shedding my uterine lining due to not being pregnant. And I know sexism is alive and well because only on behalf of men would anonymous randoms attack and hound. If this was a men's forum for legitimate feminist discussion no one would try to destroy it. Silly mumsnet you'll never contort yourself enough to acquiesce to all their demands.
