Its funny because on the one have official LD policy which advocates political interference from medicine being removed and support for evidence based medicine.
This is one of the areas they are particularly good at and are leading ahead of both the Cons and Labour.
This is really important to some LD voters.
Which ties totally with Margaret McCartney's position on medicine and the problems of lobbying, big pharma etc.
And strangely she's written in the BMJ about trans health being problematic.
This MN thread is about it:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3207071-Gender-reassignment-opinion-piece-in-this-weeks-BMJ
And then you have the LGBT LD twitter feed saying the women are being radicalised on MN...
...for having concerns about how health care for women will be changed...
Noting of course that this same feed a couple of days ago had them making a point over ticking the female box for blood donation. And encouraging the total replacement of sex with gender in doing so.
This matters in so many ways. The sex of an organ donor is relevant as it effects the success rate. And don't get me started on research.
Will every body part be have to be tested to determine the birth sex of the donor at massive cost to the system because this type of stuff is being encouraged by leading political activists who hold office within our major parties?
Honestly, when you are actively going against the importance of rational of many of your own members and in doing so put yourself at odds with your party's own position on the de-politicisation of the NHS, I think saying that MN is radicalising women is a little bit beyond the pale and might be a little problematic.
All it does is show up the extent to which women's medicine is deemed valueless and at the bottom of priorities and is particularly badly affected by political interference and agendas.
Slow hand clap.
I do hope that the LD spy patrol are out in force.
Report this back to HQ. Go on. Do it.
I challenge you.
Engage with women.
