So I am on this published blocklist. In good company with Julie Bindell et al, but still, I'm so angry. I've never tweeted Lily, so it is a mystery. I follow women's place and a lot of Rad fems, so it must be that? Anyone else on it? What should we do? I am totally shocked that this can be sanctioned by the party. That's my vote lost forever. Hell will freeze over before I vote Labour again.

So offensive to women that this is the women's officer. It is all me, me look at me. Lily seems to just want the status and attention, not to actually help women. The "I'm going to do one hour's volunteering at a women's refuge for every woman killed " or whatever it was, a bizarre parody of Jean Hatchet's incredible work for women. It came across as incredibly insensitive. Just IMAGINE having someone so utterly self obsessed "helping" truly vulnerable women and children in a shelter. For all the fussing over him and "I'll keep the bench warm for you", I can't believe anyone really sees Lily as MP material, he seems ill equipped for public life in every possible way. Emotionally, intellectually, morally. How on God's earth did he get voted into this role?

Lily is now quite gleeful that Dr Radfem has been suspended from Twitter.

Pratchet · 22/03/2018 22:23

Everyone gets suspended except the abusive libellous mentally unwell man child.

They’re looking up disorders to identify with in the dsm.

It’s like Fawlty Towers where Basil often tries to get out of awkward situations by feigning a leg injury he acquired in the war 😂

makingmiracles · 22/03/2018 22:58

Wow, what a strange individual, seems very attention seeking and possible MH difficulties going on there. And this individual is what in connection with the Labour Party? Surely not an mp?

thebewilderness · 22/03/2018 23:00

Madigan was elected Women's Officer.

SirVixofVixHall · 22/03/2018 23:08

Anne Ruyzlo , the woman who held the post prior to LM, has stated that she was bullied out of her role by LM, over a period of months. (LM accused her of transphobia, predictably) Many others resigned with her in support, and then LM was voted in.

SuburbanRhonda · 22/03/2018 23:15

Anne Ruyzlo was womens officer in a different constituency to LM.

LangCleg · 22/03/2018 23:20

Lily sounds vulnerable

One can be both vulnerable and malicious. It's not an either/or.

That said, I don't feel Lily is the driver here. Lily is the passenger. And, much as it pains me to say it, the Labour Party is the responsible party. That it allows this to go on - still worse, encourages it - makes it unfit for government, in my opinion. And I say that on the basis of allowing a malicious (if also vulnerable) party officer to abuse members of the public and on the basis of exploiting a vulnerable (if also malicious) young person.

OlennasWimple · 22/03/2018 23:40

MakingMiracles - LM is the elected women's officer in the Constituency Labour Party of Rochester & Strood. Only women are eligible to stand for this post (um.....) and the role is unpaid but part of the formal Labour Party structure, albeit it at a low level.

DarthArts · 23/03/2018 02:21

OP I don't think that's what happened.

From memory LM and Anne are part of different CLP's. LM afaik didn't oust Anne in that specific role.

There was a connection but I'm pretty sure it's not how you describe.

Hopefully someone else can elucidate.

Kyanite · 23/03/2018 06:45

Labour should be made aware of this...

Anne Ruzylo & LM are from different CLPs.

But LM and mates DID embark on an extensive bullying campaign against Anne - accusing her of transphobia, mass reporting her to the Labour party etc, a lot of bullying, until Anne resigned her position.

LM has put the letters on Twitter in the past.

They've done exactly the same to Venice Allan and Jennifer James - and had them both suspended from the party.

Both recordings of the disciplinary meetings are available on line. It's like an except from 1984.

TerfsUp · 23/03/2018 07:33

"Certain groups of women"? I thought the LM was elected to represent women. Women. Full stop.

Juells · 23/03/2018 07:38

I read the Venice Allan one, it would have been laughable if it hadn't been so creepy.

At one point she was questioned about the fact that she'd been asked to leave a function because her presence there 'made someone feel uncomfortable'. She left, but the fact that she'd been ejected was reported afterwards. The (male) questioner then asked "how do you think that made the party look?". You're not only thrown out, you're made responsible for the fact that that reflects badly on the party. Confused

sashh · 23/03/2018 08:22

Anyone know what she was suspended for?

Tweeting facts about the numbers of men committing violent crimes against women and girls.

SirVixofVixHall · 23/03/2018 08:57

Ah ok, I didn't realise they were in different groups. I follow Anne on Twitter and she was clear that she had been harrassed out of her post, over a period of months, by LM and LMs supporters. This was just before LM was elected I think? So I thought , wrongly , that LM had been given the post Anne had vacated, whereas it is the same role that Anne had, but in a different group.

Yes, the Venice Alan tape really tipped me over the edge with all this rubbish. It is horrible to listen to. It sounds like a parody, or something from a film, it is hard to grasp that this is happening in real life. But then Question Time last night......
