Millwall cannot host the March event :-(

Just had an email from Venice Allan saying Millwall have had to pull out of hosting the event 'Transgenderism and the War on Women' due to threats from TRAs.

This is Millwall. They must have some of the best security around. It is dreadful news. We are being silenced.

She said the meeting will still go ahead but at another venue. I feel so sad and so angry.

It depends on what the threats are, doesn't it? Threats of physical violence and damage to property, criminal. Threats to take to social media in an attempt to damage Millwall's brand, or to boycott Millwall's sponsors, not criminal.

Patodp · 03/03/2018 13:16

This whole outcome is a full blown example of
Transgenderism and the war on women

TERFclick · 03/03/2018 13:18

Action for Trans Health want cops dead, maybe including evidence of their presence in Scotland at a previous meeting, a link to their manifesto, may help focus the police.

TERFclick · 03/03/2018 13:19

Is there anything in counter terrorism guidelines that can be used, when reporting this, against those making threats?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/03/2018 13:20

Yes, the trouble is that video footage of a transactivist being taken away in handcuffs would be seized on as evidence of their oppression.

greenlanes · 03/03/2018 13:21

If those threats were so severe that millwall pulled out of a booking, have they reported them to the police? It would be good if that could be ascertained. I think the violence and threats need to be documented and raised at each and every opportunity,

Bumblebzz · 03/03/2018 13:23

Now I’m even more definitely going to the meeting, wherever it’s held

SophoclesTheFox · 03/03/2018 13:26

It's an absurd outcome given the title of the event.

TRAs are demonstrating against an event titled "Transgenderism and the War on Women" by...opening up a new front in that war?

Do they not see that? Women are protesting our increasing perception that our rights to gather together and speak about women's issues are being taken away from us and the response from the "progressive" side is to stop women getting together!!

It's an own goal of spectacular proportions. How, how, HOW do they not see that their actions illustrate the need for the very thing they're prostesting?!

ARGH!

LifelongVaginaOwner · 03/03/2018 13:29

Well if anything is likely to encourage me to go, it’ll be this.

SophoclesTheFox · 03/03/2018 13:31

Agree, lifelong.

I'm off to work out how I can send an additional donation to the organisers to help them along.

TERFclick · 03/03/2018 13:32

Everyone is more scared of these people than a group of women, the odd journalist and MNHQ. Oh how history will laugh at them all. Grin

TERFclick · 03/03/2018 13:34

Millwall will be a laughing stock at each match.Grin

Agerbilatemycardigan · 03/03/2018 13:37

Sandy's got a cartoon for that...

Millwall cannot host the March event :-(
Datun · 03/03/2018 13:38

Millwall !

So what's the consensus?

Are they scared of men in dresses, or are they misogynists?

And, as far as I know, you can't legally prevent public meetings. I've been looking for the law, but haven't laid my hands on it yet.

Ffs.

This ideology subverts absolutely every single damn thing they get their hands on.

Where is the 'trans oppression' in a whole swathe of men preventing women from speaking? By successfully pressuring other men!

Where is the power of those women to have a voice? Any voice?

How are these men being subjected to the same, or any, sexism?

How can claim this is about vulnerable people, when they wield such dominance?

How can they pretend they are not dripping in male entitlement and male privilege?

And how can other men hate women so much that they can buy into this steaming pile of gaslighting bullshit?

Can't they read? Can't they think for themselves?

I have no idea how men manage to run the world.

Yes, I know.

Brawn.

TERFclick · 03/03/2018 13:39

Grin For years, in every match, Millwall fans will be tormented over this! Grin

SimonBridges · 03/03/2018 13:43

Fucking Millwall. Millwall! This just goes to show how threatening TRA are. I very much doubt that the average Millwall supporter has time for Transwomen.

TERFclick · 03/03/2018 13:43

"Brian, I can't go to the match today" "Why not Dave" "I can't take the opposition chants, management cowards who let men in the toilets with my wife Janice, I can't take it anymore"

SophoclesTheFox · 03/03/2018 13:43

Millwall: scared of the horrific violence of women talking.

NotTerfNorCis · 03/03/2018 13:43

Frankly this is just bizarre. And it shows the need for more meetings, lots of them, as many as possible.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 03/03/2018 13:48

Any chance of a meeting in Sussex?

SimonBridges · 03/03/2018 13:48

Threats to take to social media in an attempt to damage Millwall's brand
And the average Millwall supporter will not give one shit.

The EDF and other far right groups manage to meet. I’m not saying that this is anything like the far right but doesn’t it show something that they can find venues yet women wanting to meet and talk about women’s rights cannot.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 03/03/2018 13:50

Maybe because a lot of people see the EDF as a joke, whereas we're seen as a threat because we speak for half of the population. That says a lot I think.

PositivelyPERF · 03/03/2018 13:53

Ohhh wouldn’t it be awful if someone sent a little meme to the other football clubs about the fact that Millwall is afraid of men in dresses. 🤣

Agerbilatemycardigan · 03/03/2018 13:54

That's a definite challenge PERF
