I am about to ID as a man

YesItsADebate · 23/02/2018 08:27

In 1.5 hours, I will be identifying as a gay man who does not conform with male gender stereotypes. I expect my local leisure facility to comply with the Swim England guidelines and agree that I am entitled to access the men-only swimming sessions, the male showers and toilets and to wear swimming trunks. I also expect them to re-educate any other man who objects to any of the above.

In other words, I have a meeting with the local swimming pool at 10 to see whether or not I’ll be resorting to topless swimming and public nudity tonight in an effort to prove my point that the Swim England guidelines are ridiculous Blush

Wish me luck!

Positively - so if said police officer got a swift knee to the nuts you could innocently say that you couldn’t possibly have hurt them because they don’t exist?

This whole denial thing could prove ether useful.

Patodp · 26/02/2018 17:28

Female nuts though... innit.

Fekko · 26/02/2018 17:58

Noisette?

misscockerspaniel · 26/02/2018 18:07

Noisette Grin. I've been wondering, idly, how TRAs in France cope with le and la. The French language is a terf.

Fekko · 26/02/2018 18:24

Or in Farsi - no ‘he’ or ‘she’ you see. Nothing to get your knickers in a twist about - oh the horror!

PositivelyPERF · 26/02/2018 18:35

couldn’t possibly have hurt them because they don’t exist 🤣 Good point.

I know a lot of people say stuff behind a screen, but I will genuinely tell the police they will have to arrest me, before I will be searched by a TIM. It’s one thing being put in a position, such as changing rooms, toilets, etc, where I could be accused of starting an argument. If a TIM tried to put their hands on me, there would be a shit storm.

Mogleflop · 26/02/2018 19:24

I think realistically I'd do what they told me, and only have the nerve to complain afterwards. Most people wouldn't dare object.

PositivelyPERF · 26/02/2018 19:31

Mogleflop, think of it this way. What would be more difficult to deal with? Standing in court, with a chance of being able to defend your rights under permitted sex discrimination laws, or dealing with the emotional fall out, from knowing a possible AGP used you for his sexual kink? As a childhood victim of abuse, I know which I would prefer.

Mogleflop · 26/02/2018 19:40

Oh, I'm not saying I'd feel good about it. I'm just thinking realistically of how I'd react to some police officer shouting and telling me what to do. I feel guilty enough when there's a police car driving near me and I've done nothing wrong.

YesItsADebate · 26/02/2018 20:30

I’ve been in a situation previously where a policeman wanted to do a body-search and I refused to consent unless a female police officer did it. There was a bit of umm-ing and ahh-ing but after a few minutes they waved me on my way.

I don’t routinely go around getting into trouble with the police BTW Blush This was on a bus on the way to a protest march 10+ years ago.

Re. the Danish clip, it’s clear he is doing it to highlight the absurdity by the way he speaks etc. He manages to make that clear without allowing anyone to pinpoint anything that would prove he’s not sincere. Hadn’t heard of the guy until now!

You say that, but I'd say Alex Drummond speaks exactly the same way and far as I can tell he is highlighting nothing but how completely self absorbed he is. I thought the danish guy was attempting to prove a point but then wasn't so sure by the end of the clip as he talks about how happy he was to finally be seen as a woman.

kaitlinktm · 28/02/2018 16:28

That's how I felt too Valentine - first of all I thought he couldn't be serious, but by the end I was thinking that he was.

Mouthandtrousersall · 28/02/2018 16:35

The officer's gender-fluid status was announced in an internal message to the Met’s 43,607 police and civilian staff last week, titled “Bring Your Whole Self to Work”.

Bring your sex fetish to work more like.
