I am about to ID as a man

YesItsADebate · 23/02/2018 08:27

In 1.5 hours, I will be identifying as a gay man who does not conform with male gender stereotypes. I expect my local leisure facility to comply with the Swim England guidelines and agree that I am entitled to access the men-only swimming sessions, the male showers and toilets and to wear swimming trunks. I also expect them to re-educate any other man who objects to any of the above.

In other words, I have a meeting with the local swimming pool at 10 to see whether or not I’ll be resorting to topless swimming and public nudity tonight in an effort to prove my point that the Swim England guidelines are ridiculous Blush

Wish me luck!

Can I self ID as Scottish and take part in the consultation?

mamaryllis · 25/02/2018 21:16

Ah Kerry love, it’s a bit disingenuous eh? You can write a whole article about naked transwomen but not mention that penises in female sex-segregated areas are the problem? Penis, Kerry, Penis. It’s absolutely fine to make the point that naked women in a changing room do NOT want naked adult penises in there too. All that coyness.

YesItsADebate · 25/02/2018 21:17

OldHag you don’t have to be Scottish to take part in the consultation so fire away!

The DM article is from 6th Feb. Good find though!

You don't even need to self-ID OldHag1. Anyone from anywhere can take part in the consultation - please do!

MunchausensLovelyHorse · 25/02/2018 21:19

Anyone can take part in the Scots consult

OldHag1 · 25/02/2018 21:35

Done x

Thanks guys x

OldHag1 · 25/02/2018 21:35

Maybe I should change my name to OldWrinklyPenis lol

Patodp · 25/02/2018 21:43

Ah that daily mail article isn't talking about this thread. It's the other more general one on Swim UK.

Wanderingwomb · 25/02/2018 22:12

Penis

TheClitterati · 26/02/2018 00:06

I went swimming today at a new pool and was very pleased to see the changing rooms were labelled male and female. Long may it last.

Fuck you Swim Uk

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/05/23/fluid-gender-policeman/

How is this going to work? Will he be able to search women when he's Abi?

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/05/10/police-swap-helmets-caps-attract-transgender-officers/

mamaryllis · 26/02/2018 03:06

Oh bless. They don’t get it do they. What kind of validation does unisex uniform give someone who desperately wants to be seen and identified as a woman? I desperately approve though. If you want to be a police officer, do it. No gendered uniforms. I can’t help but feel it will backfire as a trans recruiting tool though Grin

thebewilderness · 26/02/2018 03:18

As men get older they find that they want to involve others in their fetish and gender fluid is tailor made for the AGPs who put on panties and a dress to please their boner at work while putting on the ultimate male dominance display..

mamaryllis · 26/02/2018 03:22

Absolutely. Doesn’t work if the men’s and women’s uniforms are completely identical though Grin

In all seriousness, I would indeed be asking how this affects searches and roles.

TheGoldenBough · 26/02/2018 05:49

I really don't understand how 'gemder fluid' means anything more interesting than 'completely normal'.

Should I be Jane on the days when I'm.doing the laundry, attending parents evening, cooking dinner and on the rare occasions I put nail polish on and wear a dress, but John on the days I'm unblocking the drains, lighting fires in the garden, tiling, drinking real ale and doing car maintenamce?

Does it mean that, on jane days, I'm being a ciswoman but on John days, I'm not?

I just can't see how any of this is real!

waterlego6064 · 26/02/2018 08:21

Spot on GoldenBough! ‘Gender fluid’ is the norm. I don’t think these AGPs want to hear that though, because they need to believe they are special. The narcissism is strong!

swivelchair · 26/02/2018 08:41

Why didn't the interviewer push for better justification for ignoring the feelings of the women in the changing room?

To be fair, that interviewer pushed an awful lot harder than I've seen interviewers in the UK do!

I think that OP's stand is a better way around - the only way men will get involved is if it affects them. Bloody good job OP - clear, to the point, calm, and reasonable (well, as reasonable as the whole idea is).

This was on my desk this morning. My colleagues are getting into the spirit Grin

That's brilliant, YesItsADebate!

On the Mail article, it was interesting how they reported the Hampstead Ladies Pod change, too - reported it as changing from being women-only.

LapdanceShoeshine · 26/02/2018 12:31

That gender-fluid police person:

Callum, who had been a male male police officer for 13 years

Grin

Trying to work out if that’s a typo, or deliberate by the Telegraph. Is he a female male officer when he’s Abi? Or a male female officer? (But not a female female officer Confused)

PositivelyPERF · 26/02/2018 13:04

If a man tried to search me, claiming to be a female police woman, security guard, etc he would get a swift smack in the lady balls. I will do time before I permit someone with a fetish to use my body for their self validation.

Before the hate starts, I do not include the vast majority of transsexuals in the fetish comment. However I still would not permit a transsexual to physically search me. No offence to transsexuals.

PositivelyPERF · 26/02/2018 13:05

Love the Yorkie buttons! 🤣

phoenix1973 · 26/02/2018 13:07

Another thing I'll need to cross off my list of places to take kids. Never mind, so long as the vocal 1% can change their identities at will because we must not cause offence.

PositivelyPERF · 26/02/2018 13:16

An you imagine having to ask to speak to the officer who has dealt with a crime committed against you, the in walks a similar looking officer, but wearing a wig and makeup? You say, “no I’m sorry, it was John that dealt with me last time, Joanne” How is he going to answer that? Is he going to go out, get into a phone box, quick clothes swap and tada here’s Johnny! How is also going to work if he has to appear in court? What happens if a member of the public complains about John? Can Joanne investigate John? Ok I may have taking the piss on that last one. 😋 I think! 🤔

Terfinater · 26/02/2018 13:41

That copper reeks of fetish. I find it really disturbing that they have this alter ego. It's suggestive of mental health problems and worrying considering his job.

Hyperventilating indeed. That'll be the sexual thrill i imagine.
