Disgusted by all you transphobes - part two

PidgeonPodge · 08/02/2018 23:25

I'd just thought of a reply to our latest drop and run when you inconsiderate lot went and took all the spaces up on the last thread (ah, I see what you did there Grin) and I think it needs saying to our regular drop ins - I figure this is the sort of thread that will draw their virtuous wrath/ illiterate sympathy.

Anyway...

Too many posts to read but I agree with the OP - the transphobia on this website is shocking. A penis is just that, a penis, a sex organ, not an indicator of gender and if you can't get your head around that I suggest you repeat it to yourself daily until you do

Why can none of the posters who pop on here to scream transphobia maintain concentration long enough to actually read anything they are spurting their glittery virtue at?

I on the other hand, can actually read (I know, go me! Grin) so I'm curious. If this site (and I'm sure you are aiming at this particular section) was even a fraction as transphobic as the people who can't read think...why am I happy to be here, reading and replying? Why is the only place that my own concerns aren't met with derision or hatred?

Don't worry, I don't expect an answer. I suspect I lost you after the first syllable.

Oops sorry forgot about TransHobbit. So that makes at least four trans posters.

GrockleBocs · 09/02/2018 00:04

I'm impressed anyone's read ALL the threads. There have been a gazillion threads so perhaps I'm not the only one exaggerating.

Hi Transhobbit and Pidgeon! Smile enjoying your posts and really looking forward to hearing more of your personal perspectives on these very complex and divisive issues!

AngryAttackKittens · 09/02/2018 00:07

The women are failing to woman correctly again. Shame, ladies! Go to your rooms and think about what you've done!

No need to RTFT obviously, that would be asking far too much of a virtuous ally.

UpstartCrow · 09/02/2018 00:10

Hi PidgeonPodge!

The 'irony' of who's actually doing the erasing isn't lost on us. Its pretty much what we predicted would happen.

gluteustothemaximus · 09/02/2018 00:12

I don’t really understand any of this.

I grew up with abuse from men. I was with an abusive man for years. My father was a violent misogynist.

Only now are people waking up and seeing the extent of female harassment and abuse world over.

Women still aren’t equal. We are still fighting. Now, I have to accept a man, a biological man with a penis, because he identifies as a woman, now can share my space?

No way will that ever be right.

Sad
terryleather · 09/02/2018 00:15

Fuck it ALWAYS comes back to "Why can't you just be nice?"

I don't go on any forums where it's mostly men posting but I increasingly wonder if folk spend time on those berating menfolk for not being nicer when they express a different opinion...

UpstartCrow · 09/02/2018 00:17

terryleather Not on most Reddits they don't.

terryleather · 09/02/2018 00:21

UpstartCrow

Hmmm, now why doesn't that surprise me...

Myunicornfliessideways · 09/02/2018 00:23

Hi Pigeon and Hobbit Smile Cake

gosh all these ruddy gender critical people with minds of their own who won't be polite and stay in their boxes, and keep harping on about facts and injustice. So rude.

Although not nearly as rude as referring to regular, well known posters 'so called trans' because they don't conform to your view of what they should be saying and doing, and you're so busy virtue signalling that you couldn't possibly soil yourself reading any actual threads...... that's by far the rudest and most dismissive thing I've ever seen said to a trans MNetter on these boards, and it's grim.

NauticalDisaster · 09/02/2018 00:28

Craigy in case you ever do decide to read perhaps this will help you, it is from Good Daisy on twitter, she has a lot of things worth reading.

Thank you @PidgeonPodge! You are someone whose rights I stand up to fight for. I appreciate you standing up for ours tooFlowers

Maryz · 09/02/2018 01:56

I hope no-one minds if I put in a quote from RatRolyPoly on the other thread, as I think it summarises the non-gender-critical position quite nicely:

... we wholeheartedly reject externally-imposed gender stereotypes and we believe in the immutability of biological sex. We also believe transgender women and men when they tell us they are women or men.

I find this interesting. "We reject gender" (I'm pretty sure most of us), "we believe in biological sex" - presumably male = XY, testes, penis, female = XX, uterus, vagina. So far so sensible.

But the second sentence - how can anyone believe a man is a woman or vice versa if they just say so? After all, their biological sex hasn't changed, and you don't believe in gender so they haven't changed their "gender" (whatever they think it is) either.

This makes no sense - but appears to be accepted as logical on twitter [baffled]

thebewilderness · 09/02/2018 02:42

Clearly trans advocates can believe several unpossible things before breakfast.
The message of the hit and run hecklers seems to be the 3rd rule of misogyny: Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and selfish.

mamaryllis · 09/02/2018 02:43

Yeah, it's the 'also' that's so problematic. It isn't actually possible to reject gender stereotype ideology, believe in the immutability of biological sex and ALSO believe that someone with a penis is a woman. Whose only claim to the role is, er, gender stereotypes.

If anyone works out how you can wholeheartedly reject gender stereotypes and yet believe that Pete's bepenised friend can woman better than Linda Bellos, let me know. The virtue signalling contortions are making me brain all hurty.

QueenShitSandwich · 09/02/2018 02:46

Can "plopper" be the new term for MRAs please? Grin

thebewilderness · 09/02/2018 02:54

Can "plopper" be the new term for MRAs please?
I do hope so.

AngryAttackKittens · 09/02/2018 03:39

Religion. It's pomo's own version of transubstantiation, where if you don't believe that the biscuit is part of a dead guy's body/penis is female you're going to hell.

'So called trans' is at least an improvement on 'Truscum' I feel Grin

Although anyone who is behind Self-ID doubting that anyone is trans just because they say they are is irony in the extreme.

I'd love for this to be the first thread that a 'plopper' (great description) actually points out all these 'transphobic' posts. The very rare one usually seems to get deleted long before I've even had the chance to read it.

OP posts:
thebewilderness · 09/02/2018 05:36

'So called trans' was the last gasp followed by the death knell of irony

sportinguista · 09/02/2018 06:01

I'm just curious as to why people shouting transphobia seem to never come back and answer why they feel people on here are transphobic? It's like just 2 lines and then disappear...never an explanation or at least one that makes sense that is.

No1IronGirderRS · 09/02/2018 06:13

I have a question, please bear with me as it may sound goady but I do mean it sincerely...

I have noticed that anyone not toting the party line is slammed with nasty names. If someone refers to 'trans women', the TIMs get angry and yell that they are 'women'. If someone refers to 'women' (for example the Rose incident) then the TIMs get angry that 'trans women' are not included. It feels like the TIMs don't want women to ever 'get it right', so they can just yell about how they are being dismissed, erased, ignored.

So my question is (and I know 100% that we will not do this, but please hear me out) if all us women decided to say ok fine we are 'cis women', would we be finally able to have 'cis women' spaces (refuges, prisons, marches, sports, etc) and be left ALONE or would the TIMs come along and want to suddenly be 'cis women' even though they claim to despise 'cis women'.

I hope this makes sense, it's making my brain want to explode.
