Karen ingala-Smith vs India "I'm a real woman" Willoughby on Good morning Britain (ITV)

Dr Nicola Williams vs Aimee "non-man of the Green Party" Chanellor on Nick Ferrari (LBC) - this was brilliant and well worth a listen, if you only pick one!!

Karen and India round two on Julia Hartley-Brewer (talk radio)

I've typed transphobic so many times today, the word has lost all meaning. It doesn't even look right anymore - but it's not underlined as a spelling error/not a real word anymore.

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 05/02/2018 23:20

Wasn't a real word anyway, terf Wink

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 05/02/2018 23:27

What are the chances!!
Just as I turn it on...

"He coverts, that is his nature. How do we begin to covert Clarice? Do we seek out things to covert?"
"We begin by coverting what we see every day. Don't you feel eyes moving over your body, Clarice? Don't your eyes seek out the things you want?"

Now I just need to find the AGP quote!

I don’t know if anyone saw but voice over at end of eastenders said “now on bbc3 a Transgender woman gets put in prison for murder in a male prison in such a shock horror tone. Not for poor supposed victim but oh no poor “woman” in prison.

A few months ago I would thought nothing of it, but now it’s like ping Ping mainstream sucking up to “poor Transwoman” victimised for murdering aw poor dab.

Terftastic · 05/02/2018 23:29

Definitely not a real word. Nor is transmisogyny. (ha - that ones still underlined)

India actually said to Karen "I've looked at your website. I feel very sorry for men"
10th rule of misogyny: The worst thing about male violence is that it males men look bad.

notafish · 06/02/2018 06:55

It's frustrating not to hear any mention of the 2010 equity act during these interviews. A law that currently allows the exemption of TIMS and TIFS from certain sex segregated places or events. A law which was not created in some bygone era but established less than 10 years ago, when presumably law makers and other reasonable people debated these issues and came to these conclusions. How is it only 7 or 8 years later women are being forced to defend this position and being demonised for it when it is already set in law? What has changed in those short years?

notafish · 06/02/2018 06:56

Equality act not equity obviously

NaturalWoman · 06/02/2018 07:13

"He wouldn't test like a real transsexual"

No, and neither would the vast majority of the men currently bleating and whining "but I'm a woman!"

NaturalWoman · 06/02/2018 07:15

So that's Piers Morgan, Nick Ferrari and Hannibal Lecter who are the voices of reason in all this... Grin

LostSight · 06/02/2018 07:27

Piers Morgan isn’t actually suggesting that TIMs are dangerous. He’s suggesting that predatory men are likely to (and indeed are already) using these new rules to gain access to women.

That seems like an unassailable angle. A man almost defined by his arrogance is stating he believes predatory men will misuse this regulation. He isn’t accusing trans people and he can’t be accused of terfism.

OnTheList · 06/02/2018 07:34

They will just say it will never happen. And ignore the times it has happened, or will in the future.

Mind the 'no true trans' defense wouldnt work as thats exactly what he is saying and if they admit that the person is not actually trans, it proves him right.

But even if Piers came out and said that trans males would be the ones attacking..he would not be attacked as he is a man. He might get a few comments, but nowhere near on the ridiculous scale a woman ould get.

Tinycitrus · 06/02/2018 07:53

Did IW say to a woman who runs a wormens refuge that ‘it has been a hard year for the guys,?

Did I hear that?

Angry
Alwaysinmyheart · 06/02/2018 08:06

Interesting comments about Silence of the Lambs, was watching it last night and struck by how Buffallo Bill exhibited so many of the signs of AGP that pp have talked about on here. And this was, what, 30 years ago?? How did the writers know about this stuff then?

Thanks for the above comments, glad it wasn't just me thinking it!

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 06/02/2018 08:14

Always, agp was known about yonks ago, in the 80s iirc.

Just googled, Blanchard's theory was published in 1989
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blanchard%27s_transsexualism_typology

OP posts:
BeyondWitchbitchterf · 06/02/2018 08:15

Freund first distinguished between heterosexual and homosexual trans in 1982, and Blanchard built on that

WhoWants2Know · 06/02/2018 08:45

It isn't just Buffalo Bill. That character was based on a real person. Cross dressing was a feature of several real serial killers. (In some cases they were dressed as girls by mothers who were either disappointed in having a son or who wanted to humiliate the child.)

I wouldn't usually mention it because I don't want to derail a thread or imply that all trans people are dangerous.

But it's fair to say that not all trans people are lovely individuals who just want to live a quiet life. As with any group, there are going to be nasty scary people too.

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 06/02/2018 09:33

From wiki...

Harris based various elements of Gumb's MO on six real-life killers:[2][3]

Jerry Brudos, who dressed up in his victims' clothing and kept their shoes.

Edward Gein, who fashioned trophies and keepsakes from the bones and skin of corpses he dug up at cemeteries. He also made a female skin suit and skin masks.

Ted Bundy, who pretended to be injured (using an arm-brace or crutches) as a ploy to ask his victims for help. When they helped him, he incapacitated and killed them, dumping their bodies far away.

Gary M. Heidnik, who kidnapped and tortured six women and held them prisoner as sex slaves.

Edmund Kemper, who, like Gumb, killed his grandparents as a teenager "just to see what it felt like."

Gary Ridgway, the Green River Killer (still unidentified at the time of the novel's writing), who, like Gumb, dumped women's bodies in rivers and inserted foreign objects into their corpses.

Natural Woman - amazing to see Hannibal Lecter can see straight through this.

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 06/02/2018 09:59

"So that's Piers Morgan, Nick Ferrari and Hannibal Lecter who are the voices of reason in all this..."

Ah I've agreed with Lecter on quite a few things before, that doesn't come as a shock to me Grin I have a real soft spot for him, if we just ignore the murdery cannibally bits!
The other two, not so much

'just ignore the murdery cannibally bits!'

Way to go, beyond! Grinwhile you are at it, please ignore my fatty, greedy bits, and my lazy bits. We'll get on really well, if you do!

Thehairthebod · 06/02/2018 10:09

have a real soft spot for him, if we just ignore the murdery cannibally bits!

Me too! In the film 'Hannibal' I found myself developing a bit of a sofa spot for him.... Until the bit where he scalped Ray Liotta whilst he was still alive and got him to eat his own brain!

badabing36 · 06/02/2018 10:39

I did a Twitter search on IW, it’s pretty heartening. Especially after all that ‘Andi Dier is a paedo but don’t misgender her, and she has a point crap’.

I actually think it’s a good thing that people are actually still calling Andi Dier she, and even buffalo bill, it highlights the problem.

Oh god if I were actually transsexual I’d be running off to live in the woods by now, I’d be so ashamed of these dickheads.
