Karen ingala-Smith vs India "I'm a real woman" Willoughby on Good morning Britain (ITV)

Dr Nicola Williams vs Aimee "non-man of the Green Party" Chanellor on Nick Ferrari (LBC) - this was brilliant and well worth a listen, if you only pick one!!

Karen and India round two on Julia Hartley-Brewer (talk radio)

*upside down world

There is no fucking upside to this atm.

DearSergio · 05/02/2018 17:03

I was literally screaming at my tv when IW waffled on about the poor men in a interview about women in refuges. Way to miss the fricking point! And then to say that if a vulnerable woman was traumatised by a transwoman in a shelter, the transwoman would " back off " Hmm didn't he scream " Iam a real woman " in an 80 yr old lesbians face on CBB.... wish someone on the panel had brought up Danielle Muscato, who to the best of my knowledge self identified his way into a woman's shelter and then tweeted we could suck his dick if we didn't like it on international women's day Angry

ExFunFeminist · 05/02/2018 17:09

This is what IW said to KIS ‘’with the greatest respect I visited your website and you have a list of crimes committed by men, and there’s a great demonization, I feel really sorry for guys this year, I think they’ve had it really tough, (raises voice over KIS who tries to respond) and today there will be more acts of violence by your definition of a woman than the transgender population, we are 1% of the world’s population, the actual percentage that will end up working in a women’s refuge in this capacity is minuscule, it is being blown out of all proportion and it’s just a ginormous smear’’

IW is unbelievable, actually suggesting women are the more violent group when asked to be on a panel to discuss women's refuges, and men are getting a hard time.

BeatriceJoanna · 05/02/2018 17:42

All that masculine aggression and yet he'd have you believe that he's "A REAL WOMAN".
Try showing a bit of concern for terrified, traumatised women then, mate.

Dear god, is anyone else in an almost permanent state of rage these days. I mean, even Thatcher didn't wind me up as much or as often as these TRAs.

TheChampagneGalop · 05/02/2018 17:57

"I read your website counting all the women men have murdered, it made me feel sorry for men"

PEAK. BLOODY. TRANS

OvaHere · 05/02/2018 18:03

On the bright side hopefully India will have been peak transing the nation for the second time this year.

Counting Dead Women = Poor men

Disgusting Angry

AngryAttackKittens · 05/02/2018 18:04

And remember, IW managed to look at the website, Counting dead women and..... feel sorry for men! There's only one kind of person who can look at that website and feel sorry for men .........

The worst thing about men's violence towards women is that it makes men look bad, which upsets them. Core misogynistic ratbag belief since forever.

TheChampagneGalop · 05/02/2018 18:08

Yes Kittens we mustn't talk about actual male violence against women - it makes men look bad!! Boohoooo!!
I am so mad right now Angry
Right after that trans-identifying man scolded Rose McGowan for talking about the same topic...

shouldbedoingmyhomework · 05/02/2018 18:11

Nothing useful to say but I'm so mad at the NAMALT when talking about women's refuges, women murdered by men, or the past year of news on sexual assault/harassment.
And such fucking arrogance.
I have genuinely felt confused over this issue, like I wasn't being compassionate. Life as a woman is headfuckery. We're meant to deny reality, live with shit.

OvaHere · 05/02/2018 18:18

India dismisses male violence on the same day this is reported Angry

Massive Trigger Warning. Do not click if reading about this will trigger ptsd.

DeleteOrDecay · 05/02/2018 18:18

I noticed during the GMB clip that when IW asked if they would be accepted into a WA shelter, the woman suggested IW would benefit more from a specialist shelter. IW's response? "But there aren't any"

If there aren't any specialist shelters for people like IW, then why aren't people like IW campaigning and setting up their own shelters? Why the need to barge in on women's shelters where you clearly won't be welcomed?

Probably because that requires effort. Much easier to appropriate something than to do it off your own back.

TheChampagneGalop · 05/02/2018 18:28

Only click on Ova's link if you feel strong. I want to cry now.

Terftastic · 05/02/2018 18:37

Exactly, DeleteorDecay.

There are women's shelters because women set them up. They're a relatively recent thing (decades) and before that, women were supposed to just put up and shut up when it came to domestic violence. Any govt funding they get is because women campaigned for it - and it's always under threat.

IW makes me sick. I can't believe IW is even given airtime after their performance on BB - I've rarely seen such a narcissist.

BeatriceJoanna · 05/02/2018 18:47

OvaHere I just saw someone tweet that story - I don't think I can bear to read the details. That poor woman.

Words are really inadequate when there are men capable of doing something like that.

HairyBallTheorem · 05/02/2018 18:49

The world really has gone mad - I am nodding along with Piers Morgan. What on earth is happening here? (Though fortunately normal service was resumed when he started banging on about lesbian relationships - I found myself thinking, "ah you twat... even if you're right about transwomen in prison."

IW comes across as a completely ridiculous idiot. Who looks at Karen Ingala Smith's website and thinks "poor men being demonised."

OvaHere · 05/02/2018 18:50

Sorry TheChampagneGalop

Someone had linked it tagging India and I felt it was such a clear cut message of this is what male violence looks like.

Please though don't anyone click unless they are sure they can bear it. I don't tend towards being sensitive but this utterly horrified me.

Terftastic · 05/02/2018 18:59

I feel furious for Karen Ingala-Smith actually - who I have followed on twitter for years. She has dedicated her professional life to this - to collating statistics on VAW that the government won't, and raising awareness about domestic violence and women's issues.

How dare fucking IW start trumpeting that (s)he feels sorry for men ?

virtualreality · 05/02/2018 18:59

Women were becoming stronger and more free. So men decided they would try and do something about that.

Hence there is now a politicised personal choice available regarding gender self ID or recognition. Some of them will invade our spaces now, because they always wanted to, and now can.

Much of this has little to do with gender recognition, it has to do with the status of men and power over us so called REAL women. Poor little things, so self Id is one way to get back to normal WRT to the man/woman divide.

I am very fearful, and I am usually very strong or non committal, let them at it. With the law and political/quasi political movements behind them however, trans/self Id women will win if we are not careful. Not to sound a bit mad or anything, but it seems to me to be a movement contra biological women or something. I hope I am wrong.

Very rarely hear trans men invading male spaces or causing such a ruckus.

Have I read the whole thing wrong now, as I am so confused, dazed, baffled and sad about all this I may be over reacting somewhat.

whoputthecatout · 05/02/2018 19:12

Piers Morgan signed off with "it's a complex issue."

No it really isn't. Women's refuges are for women. A trans gender woman is a biological man. Men should have no place in women's refuges. It really is that simple. If TIMs are such poor vulnerable victims why the hell don't they start their own refuges as women did?
They are acting with typical male entitlement - expecting women to do all the heavy lifting for them.

Also, with all the examples to hand of where things have gone horribly wrong - prisons, sports, voyeurism etc. why do those having to deal with India renta-gob not stamp on this "do you really think..." or "it's a tiny minority" gobshite she spouts and reel out example after example. Plus, it would play havoc with their need to be validated.

Jeez imagine being helped by India Willoughby. For one thing, you would never get a word in edgeways.

ALittleBitOfButter · 05/02/2018 19:14

That IW transcript needs to go on AIBu.

Terftastic · 05/02/2018 19:15

virtualreality - you're spot on IMO. I couldn't have said it better.

Terftastic · 05/02/2018 19:23

The men's rights movement have hated women, and wanted to encroach on women's spaces for years/decades.

They've found the perfect cause to piggyback - they can actually erase biological women as a class, and gain access to our spaces - and abuse us, call us TERFs, and even threaten/be violent towards us if we object. It really is heaven-on-a-plate for the misogynists.

Not to mention the homophobia inherent in the TRA cause - do you know, I actually saw a lesbian on twitter the other day told that she needed to "find a new name to call herself, because lesbians like all women, even those with penises." Really.

picklemepopcorn · 05/02/2018 19:28

Coming back to read and follow the links later.

LanaKanesTerfyVagina · 05/02/2018 19:34

Fucking hell Ova

Thats fucking horrific.

I don't agree with the death penalty but I would happily slowly torture that sick cunt to death.

They really hate us don't they?

We will forever be a seeries of fuck holes to these sick cunts.

EmyRoo · 05/02/2018 19:35

No, virtual I don't think you are wrong, I think it is the only explanation. I am trying to tie it up with how and why coercive control is the way in which men enact domestic violence. Coercive control puts the power men used to have (when women were controlled by their menfolk and the state by law) into intimate relationships, despite the prevailing idea that men and women are equal. So, for a woman in an abusive relationship, the first hurdle is getting over what she believes about men and women in society (equal) and the shame that her relationship does not meet this ideal.

There is something similar going on here, at a more social and political level - there is an idea that men and women are afforded the same rights, yet trans-identifying women are eroding women's rights through a series of tactics that are straight out of control and brainwashing manuals. It relies on the same disparity between what one believes to be true and what one is experiencing.

I want to be able to express that better, but I am still trying to work it out.
