On another note it makes me shudder that fully transitioned people like IW (reassignment etc.) STILL spout the male line like she did today. It is just bizarre. But I am no longer surprised by anything anymore now.

We just need to keep our wits about us and fight the good fight.

They will never be women, Sorry about that, it is all to do with command and control.

Those who transition or self ID and just get on with it, great, they are protected by the law. It is those with a political activist agenda that I get the shivers about. And it will only get worse as time goes on, and more and more of women's spaces are infiltrated for nefarious reasons. That is the goal of many of them I fear.

You have expressed it very well. It is a bit frightening when you think about the freedom some of these trans/self IDrs have been given without any thought or cognisance of the effect some of them might have on women's lives/spaces/status.

Just awful. And the worst of them will get the publicity alright, and there is very little to be done, the law is on their side largely.

IW I would call a transwoman (or would have been happy to, prior to seeing this performance). At least IW has had the surgery. I really do object to male bodies with penises in female spaces. Rape happens with a penis - whether the owner id's as a woman or not.

But I must admit, even I'm wondering now - given the male-entitled display on GMB.

I thought Karen was very brave to say that she thinks IW would be better off in a 'trans' space. It's hard to actually say stuff like that on live television, while sat next to the person.

Can you imagine IW in a women's refuge, given the behaviour in the BB house? It would be all me me me and barking "I AM A WOMAN" to traumatised women and children - and descriptions of the journey from male newsreader to "real woman".

@EmmyRoo - I think you are right. @lisamuggeridge3 on Twitter has been talking about this all day today and it's well worth a read of her feed - she goes a bit stream of consciousness but she really clarifies the dynamics at play.

IW cannot do anything other than take the male view because IW is male. To take the female view is to be a feminist and once you recognise that some men are dangerous to women, well it's one tiny tiptoe over the line and then youre a terf.

It's telling, isn't it, wrt this whole issue of gender identity that India clearly identifies with men more than she does women.

This may be a bit of a stretch in the 'feminists on TV' category, but I'm currently watching Silence of the Lambs: a film in which a man desperately wants to be a woman, to the extent that he traps them and cuts off their skin to wear as his own.... hearteningly, he is at least portrayed as doing a Bad Thing.

I think the trans issue may be playing on my mind somewhat!!

What? That article argues Buffalo Bill is a woman and was misgendered by the meanie privileged cis people (as he skinned them!). It's as though trans can now be used as as some kind of protective cloak which any predator can hide under. Even Andi Dier's victims used she pronouns. How can people believe this bollocks.

True. With our cis privilege we can't understand how hard it was for Buffalo Bill to literally cope with skinning the people and all the literal trauma he literally suffered.

Everything would be transphobic these days, according to their sodding rules. Everything from a GCSE textbook - to Friends - to women's placards on the women's march - to saying 'a pregnant mother' -transphobic.

However much you think TRAs hate us you're probably underestimating it, to protect your own mental health if nothing else.
