Here's my post replying to Moth
Thats an interesting article moth. Best not on the board or MRAs would be all over it!
I was wondering today, hopefully, if the news about darts getting rid of the girls means the overton window is shifting and maybe p0rn will become less acceptable?
If not all this hooha about F1 girls and the presidents club is just tinkering on the edges.

The mods have a new MO - deplatforming by exile - on this occasion to stationery street. So we still get punished for being targeted by reporting …...

They moved a thread to the Stationery Cupboard - good to see they have a sense of humour!

Have to say I was astonished at the accuracy of Jean H's phophecy on the 'teach me about about feminism ladies' thread, where she said that men, when they enter a female enviroment, divide the women and that the need to cater to men's needs becomes v obvious very quickly

it's the MO of all abusers - divide and conquer - cause dissent, play favourites - the politicians have it off to a fine art.

What podcast do you like Puur

Waddlelikeapenguin · 04/05/2018 16:13

FermatsTheorem that thread is horrifying Sad

Weezol · 04/05/2018 18:22

Please may I have a pint of Yorkshire tea, milk no sugar? I would like to sit at the small round table in the softly lit corner, and rest my forehead on the smooth, cool oak top until my stress headache subsides.

WomaninGreen · 04/05/2018 19:57

Well of course Weezol
Though a pint of tea.....hmm.....
Hope your headache shifts ASAP.

FermatsTheorem · 04/05/2018 19:59

Weezol if it's Yorkshire tea you're after do you by any chance know the Otley caff (down by the river? much frequented by cyclists and climbers). It serves its tea in pint mugs.

I hereby propose a motion that the Bluestocking should definitely sell tea by the pint.

WomaninGreen · 04/05/2018 20:13

How much tea in an average pot? Not like a tea shop tiny pot but a home pot.

My parents always have Yorkshire tea. They seem to frown upon other tea. Well, they eye our Aldi tea with suspicion Grin

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 04/05/2018 22:17

No to Aldi tea, in those cutprice Aldi Tea fields

You want your tea grown in the best of Yorkshire Tea Fields Of Gold

Weezol · 04/05/2018 22:31

My personal teapot is one and a quarter pints. Two and a half and three pint pots are deployed should visitor numbers require.

I know Otley a bit. Good charity shops. However, caff? Caff? I carry a two pint flask wi me everywhere tha knas. Caffs is for them as has nay respect fer brass.

Same again please. I'm in the chair if anybody wants owt in the next ten minutes .

ErrolTheDragon · 04/05/2018 23:33

Doesn't a pint of tea get cold before you've finished? I love tea, but can't drink it quite that quickly. Also, part of the point of tea is the ceremony. And at home, having to make a fresh mug (large but not that large) gets me off my butt every half hour or so, which is of course very healthy.

Weezol · 05/05/2018 00:18

Tea pot, tea cosy and mug design, material and integrity is key here. These things are Important.

The extra quarter pint is kept warm in the pot under the tea cosy and is then used to refresh the pint as and when. Using the appropriate equipment will give you a good 40 minutes of bevarege satisfaction.

Probably best not to get me started really, I can go on about tea and tea related paraphenalia like other people do about Wine and Gin. That and the DeHavilland Mosquito.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/05/2018 09:13

Sorry to disturb the tea talk

It just occurred to me that I haven't 'seen' bertrandrussell around lately (another thread was saying that none of the FWR regulars are MIA...thats what triggered the thiught off)

Name change? Hope so...or nice holiday, nice holiday would be better

QuentinSummers · 05/05/2018 09:30

Name changed to thekimjongunoffeminism Grin

OP posts:
Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/05/2018 09:36

Well that's disappointing

I was going for the nice holiday theory

FermatsTheorem · 05/05/2018 09:37

That's brilliant, Quent

I'd be surprised if Bert has been "disappeared" rather than temporarily going AWOL - she's blunt but always respectfully so, and within talk guidelines, and posts on a wide number of issues - quietly GC but not one of the more outspoken voices, if you see what I mean.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/05/2018 09:39

fermats

Oh man now im disappointed that she didn't actually change her name to kimjongunoffeminism

If bertrand is kimjong who is trump?

QuentinSummers · 05/05/2018 16:19

She did change her name to that! Shes about posting with it.

OP posts:
Rufustheyawningreindeer · 05/05/2018 18:57

I didnt want a name change i wanted a nice holiday!!

Oh waiting

That might just be me projecting

MrsWooster · 05/05/2018 19:13

fermat that cafe has gone, I'm afraid. Old people's flats now- so prob still plenty of nice cups of tea around but fewer bikers. Probably.

WomaninGreen · 05/05/2018 22:18

Anyone else in a boiling hot flat?

It's awful but ever since living here I want a cool summer. Just hope it's not as hot as last year.

FermatsTheorem · 05/05/2018 22:53

Oh no! The Outlet caffeine is no more! (It's a long time since I lived in that neck of the woods but I'm saddened to hear that).

MissMoneyPlant · 06/05/2018 11:13

WomaninGreen
Swop with me if you like... Victorian property so it's chilly inside despite being warm outside. But then you have to cope with the freezing cold for 6+ months of the year. Grin

Waddlelikeapenguin · 06/05/2018 11:45

Like missmoney it takes until august for the house to warm up (& even then there's no guarantee as this is scotland Grin )
I wont swap though! I hate being hot.

Lots of icecream woman? Glitterball that's a scoop of grey icecream that is....

WomaninGreen · 06/05/2018 20:46

Ice cream gratefully accepted
Why is it grey though?

Yes I've lived in a period property once, never again. It's just always a bit stunning how hot it is in this flat. We have to reassure everibem including men, that they are not menopausal or having some sort of sudden illness.

then we go to other people's places and really notice a difference.

Alas no room for portable air con unit but hey ho, certainly hope not to be here forever!

WomaninGreen · 06/05/2018 20:47

No idea how "everyone" became the word autocorrect just made up Confused
