My sisters reply was even worse. A lot of waffle about inclusivity and an accusation that she was a bigot..as she had added in about being called transphobic and put in a very awkward and potentially dangerous position by a transwoman who 'passed' while my sister was drunk, but she discovered when they were alone at her house that the 'woman' she had taken home had a penis and expected to use it. So alone with a drunk and horny male. It ended without her getting hurt mind, but word sharp spread about how she was a transphobic terf. Was the first time I had actually heard the word terf said out loud actually because of all that rubbish. She did not go out without my cousin for a long time. My cousin is a transwoman, and was setting people straight about it all. Was a stupid petty thing that went on forever. Bit of a rant there but yeah, seemingly generic reply with an added snipe about how her language sounded transphobic (I assume this was for using male insted of woman), a bit more waffle and then another transgender people fac a lot of discrimination from bigoted people.

So she should have shagged the person in order to prove her right on credentials, and must be punished for not doing so? I mean, not that it's a surprise, but they sure are feeling confident that they won't face any consequences for being openly in favor of rape.

That's awful. It absolute should have been enough to have your MP spitting bloody nails. And if you want to name and shame them on here go right head.

Our MPs are accountable.

It's a frightening position to be in when you take time to write something that is so bloody obvious, and it's ignored.

And you're not alone, many people are getting a bog standard reply.

However, a significant number aren't.

So for anyone else, it's still worth it.

Also, I have read several accounts from women who got a bog standard, brush off reply, then made an appointment.

It appears that quite a few MPs don't actually read the letters, but give them to an assistant to deal with.

Perhaps a young, right-on assistant...

So a meeting is useful, if you do not get a satisfactory reply.

It feels onerous, but it's so very important.

I wrote to my MP Mike Kane. Several times in fact. Whenever anything new happens. He's now saying he won't reply to any more of my letters on the subject but if I want to come in and see him I can.

I'm cautiously optimistic that she'll be sympathetic at least, as I can see from her record that she's spoken out against FGM and cuts to women's services, and stood up in the house to challenge Toby Young's appointment a couple of weeks ago. So hopefully I'll get a more positive response than you and your sister got Vicxy. How fecking OUTRAGEOUS that he chose to see what happened to your sister as a negative reflection on her political correctness. Ye Gods.

Men like that need to have the implication of what they're saying spelled out and thrown back in their face.
