Some of her aims:

Gender neutral sex ed
Women in leadership making room for transwomen (because you know how many women are in leadership roles)
BUS accepting transwomen to compete as women in sports

Also: This is not Anna Lee's voice and the voice says "vote for me". Confused

PosieReturningParker · 21/02/2016 09:19

I volunteered on a local radio and it had a transwoman presenter. I first encountered her presenting her women's show on periods and the menopause. Her show could have been about anything, why choose these issues that affect women but NOT HER was weird.

I would not run a show on racism, unless people that had experiences of it were on it too!!

Oh my God! He's got a female to read it for him. Shock

What the heck?

HermioneWeasley · 21/02/2016 09:23

Shame on Anna and shame on the woman who read it for them.

Sophie38 · 21/02/2016 09:24

I'll rephrase that.

The voice over in that clip is not remotely similar to the voice in the previous clip. It's about an octave higher for a start.

Why would a candidate ask a woman to read their manifesto for them as though it was their own voice?

I wonder.

MrsJamin · 21/02/2016 09:28

Exactly. "she" is hiding her biological sex by using a voiceover who pretends to be her, surely? How is that being 'transproud' or whatever bollocks term "she" would use? And that wasn't even for a women's role?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 21/02/2016 09:28

A quote I read today which seems very apposite to some of the deletions on this thread: In the marketplace of ideas, only the bad require censorship to survive.

VincentVanLowe · 21/02/2016 09:33

I don't think it's a woman's voice. It sounds to me like a recording of Anna Lee that has been electronically distorted. Then notice his animation features mostly little bald people, until the girlish Anna Lee character with their big fluffy hair turns up. I reckon Anna Lee got off on making that, and got off on it being put on into public space.

It's a fetish. As it is for so many. We are being forced to participate in it.

AuntGertrude · 21/02/2016 09:39

Not sure if single-sex wards are mandatory as yet but this is recent - guidelines for transgender patients in NHS hospitals - individuals to be placed on wards according to their identified gender -

TheCountess I read that same thing on Facebook somewhere!

Shock at the voice-over! If I 'black-up' my face can I represent the views of black people?

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 21/02/2016 09:48

Well if you watched that campaign video then went went onto Anna's fb page you would think you were on the wrong page

Delusional as Germaine Greer said.

And agree for many I think it is a fetish.

Snowshimmer · 21/02/2016 09:54

I think this is the first time one of my comments has been deleted on MN. And I basically said the same thing in an other comment on this thread, which was allowed to stay.
What's up with the random deletions? We're allowed to talk about this but some comment might disappear?

Northernlurker · 21/02/2016 09:59

The delivery sounds like Anna. I'm inclined to agree that they've changed the pitch and probably justified it to themselves as it's what they want to sound like.

So we have an individual who started off running for a campaignes type post then got a welfare post and now is running for national womens officer. This is a person who I think is seeking validation of themselves through the choices they make. That's fine, we all do that. Difference is though I've been a womens officer in a student union and that role is no place for somebody who is or ever has lived as a man.

VincentVanLowe · 21/02/2016 10:00

I think they only delete comments that have been reported.

I expect there are some self righteous self selected White Knights getting click happy but saying nowt. They probably regard it as part of their 'activism'. Its easy and requires minimum effort.

Sophie38 · 21/02/2016 10:00

Perhaps MNHQ are secretly on our side but have to try and make an appearance of doing what the other side want, for reasons unknown to us.

Just a guess.

Sophie38 · 21/02/2016 10:01

The stumbling, incoherent delivery certainly does sound like Anna.

The pitch is totally different.

Snowshimmer · 21/02/2016 10:02

When a male person describes themselves as a queer lesbian it sounds quite fetishistic yes.

"Anna Lee" is being offensive towards women. I wouldn't care what this person did if he didn't aimed to be a women's officer and if we could state that this is a man.

Snowshimmer · 21/02/2016 10:03

I suspect that too Sophie

AyeAmarok · 21/02/2016 10:09

Thomas and Sophie, I actually think you may be on to something there.

It does feel like one big pisstake.

Calling them Anally, the stereotypical comedy man-in-wig getup, the awful script reading... And the fact that, in some spheres, it would be absolutely hilarious for a man to beat a woman in a woman-only contest.

Hmm.

Lightbulbon · 21/02/2016 10:17

A biological vagina?

What is a non-biological vagina?

VincentVanLowe · 21/02/2016 10:19

One which makes your washing less itchy?

forkhandles4candles · 21/02/2016 10:20

yes, I am starting to conclude this is a massive wind up Miss Anna Lee.

PosieReturningParker · 21/02/2016 10:36

She was trans officer in 2015, she fought a campaign to get one.

I'm thinking the LGBT wasn't enough....

Is there a lesbian officer?

MrsJamin I'm part of the NUS and could write an email, but I'm reluctant to because of the potential repercussions of attaching my real name and university to a statement of my opinions about this.

I hate that I've just said that, because I know it's a bit cowardly, but I wouldn't be surprised if other women feel the same way.
