Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Hi, I just thought you should know you are being bitched about on this website

I've just received a PM from ShroedingersMew directing me to a website where, apparently, I am being bitched about.

I haven't bothered even to click on the link. But I just wanted to let the other feminists on here know in case something similar happens to them.

I would say the best thing to do is ignore the link, ignore the website altogether, and not let them have the traffic.

There are two things abusive men hate: being laughed at, and being ignored.

Oh he would love a page about his heroic fight against the foul feminazis who torment him and all right-thinking decent folk!

I know what picture would be used - TheMagnificentBathykolpian's one. Perfect!

EldritchCleavage · 19/08/2011 16:29

I vote for ignoring. I'm just not interested in these child-men who've had all the good bits removed (intelligence, percipience, compassion, sex appeal, humour, restraint, kindness, sense of responsibility).

ignore

I think people having their photos misrepresented have a case for not ignoring though

can that even be legal ?

SchrodingersMew · 19/08/2011 17:02

Having found out first hand lately. You need copyright of a picture to use it.

EldritchCleavage · 19/08/2011 19:10

If the misrepresentation is defamatory, then there could be a libel claim. There could also be a privacy claim but this is more speculative, if the photo has been posted on FB before. There is also the possibility of an offence being committed under the Data Portection Act and of the postings constituting harassment.

Tyr · 19/08/2011 20:19

It looks like the one post challenging him has disappeared. It seems that he and his two cronies scatter pretty easily.......

ForkInTheForeheid · 19/08/2011 20:26

Anyone else think there's something quite endearing about how much time and effort this weirdo poor troubled man puts into his cause?

No, me neither. Someone ought to tell him he's wasting his life.

justforaminute · 19/08/2011 20:33

well the thing is Tyr...we ve all been got by the patriarchy.
and yes this includes men.....[some a lot more than others]
why oh why are these clowns doing this....they could be putting theyre time to better use.
surely instead of bitchin about whats happening over here....they could be helping men.

It's back up now and his response (probably a group effort from the three of them) is a good indicator of the degree of intellectual rigour we can expect them to bring to the forthcoming campaign.

TheMagnificentBathykolpian · 19/08/2011 20:53

Group effort is probably needed since they probably only have the one brain cell between them.

Pagwatch · 19/08/2011 22:11

Oh bless him. He is a bit flustered isn't he?

Wow... Just came back online.

That escalated pretty quickly didn't it!

GossipWitch · 20/08/2011 08:59

I just had a nosy at this page and there is a girl called kirstie giving him a very cool but calm approach to how similar women and men are, I am liking her very much.

Truckrelented · 20/08/2011 09:12

I don't think there are many MRAs though are there?

I've never met one.

SchrodingersMew · 20/08/2011 09:14

Gossip I didn't see her, must have another look. :o

Truck I didn't even know what an MRA was before all of this!

AuntieMonica · 20/08/2011 09:15

NasalCoffeeEnema · 20/08/2011 11:06

Is it wrong that I find this thread hilarious

HeIsSpartacus · 20/08/2011 11:47

Ooh he's a very troubled mid-life crisis young man. Seems he gets overwrought very quickly. Business is obviously not going well (nor his social/lovelife) if he has so much time to dedicate to spreading the hate.

SchrodingersMew Indeed! Hope you got your photo matter smoothed out nicely. Let's hope he's got legal insurance of some kind. He really is daft isn't he? How does one work as a graphic designed without having a basic understanding of intellectual property rights? I mean presumably he gets paid for his creations and would be pissed off if they were reproduced without his permission or payment for doing so.

sakura · 20/08/2011 11:51

Truck, you never know who's an online vigilante MRA activist. COuld be your next door neighbour.
People who pass me on the street certainly don'T know I'm a raging feminist.
