Hi, I just thought you should know you are being bitched about on this website

I've just received a PM from ShroedingersMew directing me to a website where, apparently, I am being bitched about.

I haven't bothered even to click on the link. But I just wanted to let the other feminists on here know in case something similar happens to them.

I would say the best thing to do is ignore the link, ignore the website altogether, and not let them have the traffic.

There are two things abusive men hate: being laughed at, and being ignored.

Can you send me a link? I?d like to read what is actually being said.( as long as you don?t have to join FB or the like to view it.) I disagree strongly with some of the views I?ve seen expressed on these boards and had some pretty heated rows with a few posters. It?s all been in the open though and I have an issue with anyone who snipes at folk behind their backs.
Is it the case that these are people who have challenged things here and been banned or are they just lurkers with nothing else to do?

The thing is, there are myriad views on the Feminist section. I personally do not agree with Sakura's take on many things, but see no need to personally ridicule her. There is a perfectly valid rhetorical technique known as shifting the Overton Window (google it, fellas), which is more usually employed by the Right and the Establishment so that we end up fighting on their territory. Just because a few people on a site express views which some consider wrong, extreme, or over-exaggerated, does not mean that the whole forum should be closed. I can't see a problem with women discussing feminism, in all it's varieties. There are plenty of spaces on the internet for people to conduct conversations which don't adhere to feminist principles. Per-lenty.

For the record I really don'T like porn sites. Just coz of the misogyny and racism, mainly. Oh and the hate speech against women.

So I'm really interested in these new internet powers of being able to get places shut down just coz you don'T like what the people there are saying Smile

But a certain type of man is certainly threatened by women standing up and saying that they will not accept mistreatment. I think their obsession with mumsnet boils down to that...

Disclaimer - most men are decent people who I do not include in the above.
