How has radical feminist critique of vaginal intercourse influenced you?

Has radical feminist critique of vaginal intercourse had any impact on you?

Have any of you been so swayed by it that you've given up penetrative sex as a consequence?

Pardon?

I wasn't aware that being a feminist means I'm supposed to give up penetrative sex.

First the troll thread saying I had to have a gender reassignment to be a feminist, and now this!

Please explain....

"First the troll thread saying I had to have a gender reassignment to be a feminist, and now this!

At no point have I suggested that gender reassignment is a prerequisite for becoming a feminist. The other thread was about an NHS policy change.

With regards to radical feminist critique of vaginal intercourse, the FactCheckMe blog is a good place to start.

Seriously? Where else are they meant to put it? Answers on a postcard... Wink.

Thruaglassdarkly · 16/04/2011 02:07

Bit of an off the wall link btw...No offense.

Thruaglassdarkly · 16/04/2011 02:08

I LOVE penetrative sex. I don't feel violated by it at all. I am the gatekeeper...

Bit0fFunnyBunny · 16/04/2011 02:12

I haven't looked at the link yet, but I remember reading stuff years ago that challenged the idea of vaginal sex as being 'penetrated', but recast it as a more powerful idea of 'enveloping' or 'enclosing'. Is that what you mean?

spiderslegs · 16/04/2011 02:19

I'm going to say no..............

Or how would we produce more fem-bots...............

Presumably get some filthy 'man-juice' from a regulated, gentle women's clinic whence it had been screened for any rogue Y chromosomes.....

sorry Femtastic, I am too suspicious of your motives to engage with you because of the way you keep starting threads on controversial subjects then not returning to them.

You may be genuine in which case I apologise for being unfriendly, but we have lots of trolls on here which makes us suspicious and this is a strange way to engage.

If you have a simple motive eg if you're a student looking for material for a dissertation then just say so, you will most likely find people happy to help.

has there ever been a genuine feminist poster with a name like 'Femtastic'? There was one called 'Feministpride' in January who did something similar.

I didn't mean you femtastic, I meant the other troll.

Thruaglassdarkly · 16/04/2011 11:25

Perhaps Femtastic is Matthew Wright? He LOVES to slate MN in the mornings.

HerBEggs · 18/04/2011 23:16

To answer your question in good faith, radical feminist critique of vaginal intercourse has resulted in me knowing that penetrative sex isn't the be all and end all of sex and has therefore resulted in me having fuck-loads more orgasms when I go to bed with a bloke because I tell him I don't want to get straight into fucking.

I certainly wouldn't give up penetrative sex though - it's great as part of a repertoire. On its own without all the other sex though (which mainstream media tends to call "foreplay" Hmm) it would be dull.

EggyFucker · 18/04/2011 23:21

nope, can't be arsed

a bit bored of the deliberate wind-ups, tbh

nothing prevents them from coming back with a different name, basically

Beachcomber · 18/04/2011 23:31

Different brain would be a bit harder though. He'll be spotted in no time.
