fgs. I thought you had to be intelligent to be a judge. Don't they at least give them basic training?

judge should be sacked.

Thanks seth, I appreciate you talking to me like I;m a human being,

The situation is that you would not be able to ID the kids. You can ID me all you like I have no issue with that or being linked to what i have said.

The school doesn;t exist anymore, it was 10 years ago - but I totally understand now, that this wasnlt clear. Sorry.

mumblecrumble · 09/04/2011 23:19

Am very very sad now if that helps you understand me more. Seem to be being thought of as a cackling, rape loving drunk....

mumblecrumble · 09/04/2011 23:19

Have asked a friedn to loook at this thread now

Don't worry, mumble, you're not the first one to be tackled on MN today for blaming 12 year olds for being raped.

mumblecrumble · 09/04/2011 23:34

[I didn;t blame 12 year olds for being raped - thats outrageous]

I really am not jniave enough to believe that anything I post on here in tinternet land isn;t public. Same on facebook.

mumblecrumble · 09/04/2011 23:37

But it makes me sadder that as soon as somebody thought that was my opinion, they asked if I was male.

AyeRobot · 09/04/2011 23:42

"There are also 13 year old girls who totally get off on seducing older men as it makes them feel powerful and also they know they can get chaps into trouble." The men get into trouble because the men are breaking the law, not because the girls are too sexy/manipulative/whatever.

When you mention the 12 year olds showing you pictures, it's not just "wrong" in a moral sense, it is rape in a legal sense. If those 12 year olds showed you pictures of themsleves shagging, you saw them being raped. Do you understand that?

tethersegg · 09/04/2011 23:45

mumble, stop whinging. Honestly. Some of your comments on this forum tonight have been so anti-women that I'm not surprised you've been asked if you are a bloke.

Whatever your agenda is, if you genuinely feel that men are being treated unfairly, a thread about the sexual exploitation of a teenager is not the best place to air it.

mumblecrumble · 09/04/2011 23:47

Its a fantasy land this thread..... so long suckers.

AyeRobot · 09/04/2011 23:48

Put your bottom lip away. You came on here all guns blazing and got it back in return. That's all.

sethstarkaddersmackerel · 09/04/2011 23:59

since she's gone, can somebody else explain to me why she thinks it's sad that I asked her if she was a man? I really can't follow the logic there.

OP posts:
mumblecrumble · 10/04/2011 00:05

no guns blazing.

becasue its shit you care about my gender. really really shit that it matters to you.

mumblecrumble · 10/04/2011 00:06

[did you think I;d gone off to cry in a corner???]

mumblecrumble · 10/04/2011 00:06

Yes, i realised it was rape.

What would you have done? I meand irectly, as soon as you saw the images?

HerBeX · 10/04/2011 00:07

I'm not sure there was any logic Seth.

Am just shocked she wasn't drunk tbh. Might as well have been. Grin

SpeedyGonzalez · 10/04/2011 00:08

Yikes. Glad I read most of the thread before posting.

I think the main problem appears to be the judge's utterly asinine comment about the girl being responsible. What a moron. And, considering his position of responsibility and sentencing history, a dangerous moron at that.

If (as we all know) the law is still an ass, and he was choosing between a rock and a hard place wrt the sentence, then I can see why he decided to give a suspended sentence, but it makes me furious that this is how things work.

Just yesterday a man was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for stealing a Stradivarius violin. Does our 'justice' system really think that a beautiful, priceless musical instrument is worth so much more than the lives of all those children who were hurt directly and indirectly by this man? We should be campaigning for a change to the law. A violin thief is not much of a threat to society in comparison with this man, is he?

mumblecrumble · 10/04/2011 00:08

Hhaha(!!) Drunks are soo funny..... Are you for real?
What a shitty attidutude to alcohol too.

sethstarkaddersmackerel · 10/04/2011 00:08

why?

OP posts:
mumblecrumble · 10/04/2011 00:09

Speedy, was thinking exactly the same = specially about the violin. really shocking he judged her to be responsible.

Did he get no sentence at all then?

mumblecrumble · 10/04/2011 00:11

I also think he undervalued the offences are they were 'cyber sex' - think it would have been different if they bahd been physically talking to each other. nasty

HerBeX · 10/04/2011 00:13

She doesn't care about your gender mc.

It's just that when people come on here whingeing about poor menz being seduced by manipulative children, that lack of empahty and seeming failure to understand adult responsibility vis a vis children, quite ofent comes from men.

You still haven't answered any of my questions about why you focussed so much on the behaviour of children who look older than they are and then get the poor "chaps" ie - rapists - into trouble (for breaking the law - committing one of the most serious crimes on the statute books, poor chaps). Are you going to answer those questions?

mumblecrumble · 10/04/2011 00:19

Herbex... I beg of you to quote me anyway that implies i talked about poor men etc.

You really give a shit about me ansering these squetions? You wouldn;t rather readsomething else? discuss the actual thread? read a good book?

I didn;t focus on anything. I haven;t spent all day on it - I responded to a postedwho said that she didn;t undertand the attraction to 13 year old girls. I was shocked at the implication as ... actually... do you know what. My friend is write.

I must not feed the troll This is absolute bollocks.

I have had experience of both sides - was going into details but deleted as mebtioned my name.

Do you really, really think that i defend men against raped victims? Do you really really think that?

Do you really disagree that kids aren;t looking older, earlier? And that media over sexualises kids? I thought these were rather common opinions. Certainly discussed in our staff room, at union meetings, IfL meetings etc [not in GTC]

My facebook freidns reckon you are loons.

I;m not that judgemental

SpeedyGonzalez · 10/04/2011 00:23

It was just a suspended sentence he got, with a training programme for sick freaks abusers.

Oh, I know I should be more understanding, especially as it's quite possible that Barnes himself was the victim of abuse as a child Sad. When I think of it that way, it gives pause. But what he did was horrible and abnormal, and he deserves the treatment plus a bloody hard legal slapping, not just a suspended sentence. Angry

sethstarkaddersmackerel · 10/04/2011 00:24

oh fgs

'I think some of you have very rosey tinted veiws of 13 year old girls.'

'There are also 13 year old girls who totally get off on seducing older men as it makes them feel powerful and also they know they can get chaps into trouble.'
