Tiny lump on labia majora 8 months inside

Bex4567 · 27/01/2026 14:33

I have a small hard lump on my labia majora on the inside near hair ridge not the hair on the outside.

It's been there for about 8 months skin coloured feels like a hard lump under skin.
Can see it slightly on surface but mainly under skin.

Only sore if I squeeze it repeatedly.
Worried as I have persistent hpv on smear

Anyone else had this not changed in size or colour ...
GP said cyst but not convinced due to being there so long .

Mine is on the labia majora about half way down.

OP, you’re never going to rest until you get checked out so by all means do so. I used to have terrible health anxiety but my mind was always put at rest by having stuff checked out. Unfortunately some people with HA still have it after they have seen a doctor but it may help.

Edited

Docter has checked it and said its a cyst but i don't believe them

how Do I know what, OP? That you’ve got health anxiety or that it’s a cyst?

I know you’ve got HA as all you’re doing now is seeking reassurance over and over again. You’re feeding the anxiety. You say you’ve been told it’s a cyst or something pretty much unremarkable yet your brain isn’t allowing you to accept this

you need to see a dr about the real issue here - your anxiety. And try and stop continually asking and asking about how people know it’s a cyst etc. You merely make yourself worse

Your doctor has likely seen many more labias and many more lumps on labias than anyone posting on here. You need to try and trust your doctor. ❤

I had this and then I woke up about 2 weeks ago and it must have popped in the night. Like you not painful and nothing to really see. Not reappeared or had further problems since; try not to stress

How long was it there before it popped please.also was it above the skin or below

Op please seek help, this is not healthy. Everyone on here including your gp has said it’s not sinister yet you are still asking for reassurance, which you will clearly not get.
not everyone does have healthy anxiety ( yes i have suffered in the past, its awful!). It does not matter how many of us tell you, you will not feel better which is awful.
speak to your gp as this must be horrible for you.

I agree it's probably a wee cyst, have you tried a super hot flannel on it to see if it helps raise it to the fur face.

Edit: my fucking god this is tablet, I promise I wrote surface! 😀

Edited

I howled when I read 'fur face'
😆 🤣 😂
I will now call a fanny a fur face 🤣

Cysts can linger for years! I've got one in my breast and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere or getting remotely smaller.

Would some kind of cream help if it's sore? Otherwise I guess just leave it.

I guess it could be a misdiagnosed wart? In which case go to GUM clinic. And they can freeze it off.

Flaplump · 30/01/2026 15:58

Mine’s been there over a year- small hard pea size and non painful but looks white under the skin. I stuck a sterilised needle in and cheesy stuff came out. It was rather satisfying but it filled up again soon after so I just leave it alone now.

goingtotown · 30/01/2026 19:06

I had the same, nurse noticed it when I had a smear test…it was a cyst the size of a small pea. It disappeared after about 2 years.

I had this for about 18mths. Did the needle thing a few times and it went smaller temporarily, then would harden to the same size again. Final time I needled it, I wiggled the needle and hooked a hair, which turned out to be an ingrown hair of no joke, about 4 inches long, all coiled up. Went in about 24hrs after that was pulled out.

I had one, it freaked me out! I was convinced it was an STI so paid to see a private specialist who was really lovely and said it was an “angry hair follicle”, it disappeared after about 8 months. It did itch though!
