Tiny lump on labia majora 8 months inside

Bex4567 · 27/01/2026 14:33

I have a small hard lump on my labia majora on the inside near hair ridge not the hair on the outside.

It's been there for about 8 months skin coloured feels like a hard lump under skin.
Can see it slightly on surface but mainly under skin.

Only sore if I squeeze it repeatedly.
Worried as I have persistent hpv on smear

Anyone else had this not changed in size or colour ...
GP said cyst but not convinced due to being there so long .

In that case , if you won’t accept what a professional says, why ask random posters on here? You’ve been told what it is. Now put it out of your mind, unless it causes problems.

Because if I hear another people have it it helps me...and ive had hpv for 4 years....
I just hope the docters can tell the difference between a cyst and I cancerous lump

Everyone’s experience will be different . Some may have a cancerous lump, others may have a benign lump. Their experiences are not going to be the same as yours and should not be compared with yours. That doesn’t help you, in fact it’s more worrying. Specialists know how to determine this by various tests. You’ll just have to trust the professionals or you’ll make yourself miserable.

In response to your earlier post: you won't get a mammogram until you're at least 50.

If you genuinely want a second opinion: sexual health clinics are knowledgeable and spend quite a lot of time looking at women's vulvas, more than your average GP. But only do this if you're going to accept what they tell you - don't waste their time and take up an appointment otherwise.

I see you're now posting about referral to gynae, you're unlikely to get a referral for this and if you do you'll need to look at myplannedcare to see what the wait is in your area. I got re-referred to gynae and had a ten month wait.

You need to get some help with your anxiety (and I say this as someone with three diagnosed chronic conditions). You're coming across as though you might be a troll asking women to describe areas of their genitals and cysts etc. You say people's anecdotes are helping you but after each one you're just back posting the same questions over and over, so they clearly aren't.

You don’t need an ultrasound!

FullLondonEye · 04/02/2026 15:25

Yeah, this is not an ultrasound situation. By all means see a gynaecologist but only if you're going to listen to what they tell you. Otherwise what's the point? What's the point in repetitively asking about other people's labia situations on here? It's clearly not helping because you're sounding progressively more obsessive.

You see a gynae who confirms the same as your GP, just a cyst, leave it alone. What then? Will you still not believe them? What is you want to hear instead? Bad news? So will you then see another gynaecologist? And then another? At what point will you accept what the trained professional is telling you? Because you don't seem to be listening to the prevailing view by your GP and the people here that you're asking, which is cyst, they happen, don't worry. Otherwise you wouldn't keep asking about it. You do need help but not with your labia.

So at what point do u think i deserve an ultrasound...the fact it's been there nearly 9 months or the fact I have persistent hpv ???? At what point do you get an ultrasound

When and if a medical professional tells you! If you needed it you would have been told. You could always pay privately for one yourself, otherwise just ignore the lump, get on with your life and see your GP about counselling.

TonTonMacoute · 04/02/2026 17:01

They really are pretty common, anywhere with hair and that sweats are prone to these sorts of cysts.

I have one now and had one before, small hard lump embedded in the labia. Forget about it and you will suddenly notice it has gone.

I doubt they would dream of giving you an ultrasound unless it increases massively in size, but I suppose your could insist if you want to give your doctors a good laugh.

An ultrasound is not necessarily a useful diagnostic tool in such a case. Usually a doctor will be able to diagnose a simple cyst from examination but to confirm cancer a biopsy would be needed. Why are you fixating on an ultrasound now?

Beacuse when u google it says that if u have a persistent lump they do an ultrasound.....and some people have had vulva lumps and been referred urgently for an ultrasound to check its just a cyst
