Football has come home!

To build on the success of the Lionesses and the increasing interest in women's football, we are starting a brand new thread to continue celebrating the beautiful game Football

Enjoy!

Lots for Sarina to work on. Roll on Tuesday for the Aussie game.

Highly unlikely. Do you have a link?

the reason i like talking about football on MN is that the idiots who ask me to quote the offside rule etc, that i encounter on twitter, are absent.

I'll take the apology, Parky.

Busted! (get back to Twitter! 😂)

doorwedges · 07/04/2023 13:22

@Brefugee - wow!

doorwedges · 07/04/2023 13:25

Enjoyed the match last night! Great competitive match

MattDamon · 11/04/2023 21:56

Tonight was just painful to watch. Gave away the ball so many times, no energy, no passion, no anything! A well deserved loss.

doorwedges · 11/04/2023 22:10

Oh no I missed this! First defeat for ages. Will the highlights be on motd?

MattDamon · 11/04/2023 22:29

Not sure. I do think a lot of the players must be knackered. It's coming up to the end of the season. Many of them are playing WSL, Champion's League and the FA Cup back to back. Sarina herself said they are playing too many matches.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 12/04/2023 09:15

Hopefully we will learn from this. Better now than in the World Cup.

Kerr is amazing. We need to make sure she can't get the ball.

MattDamon · 15/04/2023 22:05

Great semi-final between MU and Brighton today. Happy MU got through but hoping this is the start of better things for Brighton.

Would be nice if Villa channel the same energy tomorrow against Chelsea.

MattDamon · 16/04/2023 16:13

Villa just short today but hugely improved. They definitely gave Chelsea a few scares.

Sorry wrong thread!

Big game tonight: Man U vs Arsenal on BBC3/iplayer at 19:15. Could have a huge impact on the top of the table.

Yes, watching. We're playing well considering half the Arsenal team are now injured.

MattDamon · 20/04/2023 08:00

Arsenal is cursed, I swear. Poor Leah, hope it's not too serious. They did play well, considering. Zinsberger almost levelled it in the last few seconds!

I think Man U will end up 2nd in the table. Chelsea would have to lose two of their remaining games to concede, which seems unlikely. Still a great result for MU, gets them into the CL which will hopefully be enough to keep Mary, Ona and Alessia around for another year.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 20/04/2023 11:20

@MattDamon

Yes, Zinsberger's near miss actually made me feel worse as we were so close.

We've been so unlucky but then Mead and Williamson have played virtually every Arsenal and England game this year, so perhaps they have just been overplayed.

MattDamon · 21/04/2023 14:35

Devastating news for Leah Williamson: ACL injury confirmed.

Just saw that, all the best to Leah

Yes, so sad for her.

Gutted for LW! And the England team…
