Would anyone like to be part of a reading group?
I need something to encourage me to read more regularly - i absolutely love to read but seem to have put it on the back burner recently....
want to get back to enjoying it again
I anyone is interested, we could agree on a book (easier said than done, I suspect!)
read it then discuss....
hmmmmmmm
anyone>?

Like I say Im open to try anything. Do you want something light hearted and fairly easy to read (not slushy) bearing in mind its christmas and you dont want something heavy that could be upsetting, do you want something thats based on someones personal experience..give me a clue here..lol..!

fairydust · 14/12/2003 22:10

i surpose i'm very boring and have a one track mind

i like something funny with a bit of romance i've heard
the divine secrets of ya-ya sisterhood is good

Absolutely the best book I ever read! It had me laughing one minute and crying the next. It's a reminder that, no matter what, you always have your girlfriends!"

the divine secrets of ya -ya sister hood

3GirlsMum · 14/12/2003 22:15

or the whole thing?
i dont know
it was only my idea....

OP posts:
popsycal · 14/12/2003 22:16

yes 3GM

OP posts:
fairydust · 14/12/2003 22:17

yes that's the one

when does this start then

3GirlsMum · 14/12/2003 22:17

You choose.

Hulababy · 14/12/2003 22:17

Might be easier to set a date to discuss the whole book - maybe in 3 or 4 weeks time.

Or to get us all going, what about a date in a week or so's time to discuss first 3 or 4 chapters, to keep us all on track?

fairydust · 14/12/2003 22:18

i'd say a chapter at a time as soon people read faster than others - n some people have more time than others

3GirlsMum · 14/12/2003 22:18

Oop sorry I was saying that to Popsycal.

Hulababy · 14/12/2003 22:20

Off to bed now (early start to get to hospital )so will check her tomorrow to see where we are up to - if we have changed books again, or any dates. Night all.

3GirlsMum · 14/12/2003 22:22

night hula

3GirlsMum · 14/12/2003 22:22

Sounds good to me. Think I will order some more of Amazon as well. How much is delivery on there now?

marthamoo · 14/12/2003 22:24

I've already read it...it is good though. Could give it another go. Can't we do it like this:

  1. Set a date, say, 4 weeks hence, to have finished the book and come back and give our thoughts.

  2. In the meantime keep this (or a new) thread up and running on an ad-hoc basis - for if people want to ask something/ are finding it heavy going etc.
