Would anyone like to be part of a reading group?
I need something to encourage me to read more regularly - i absolutely love to read but seem to have put it on the back burner recently....
want to get back to enjoying it again
I anyone is interested, we could agree on a book (easier said than done, I suspect!)
read it then discuss....
hmmmmmmm
anyone>?

The Big Read web site has about 200 books listed. May help with some decision making Popsycal?

popsycal · 14/12/2003 21:38

does the link that 3girlsmum did sound too bizarre?
i kind of am interested....

OP posts:
Hulababy · 14/12/2003 21:38

Read Great Gatsby - not as good as I had expected but a long time ago now; maybe I was too young to appreciate it.

marthamoo · 14/12/2003 21:39

Looked at link - I Know This Much is True sounds good (except now have true by Spandau Ballet going round my head).

What we doin'? Itching to start now!

popsycal · 14/12/2003 21:48

3GirlsMum · 14/12/2003 21:49

LOL...dont we all need to read the same...TBH dont fancy Owen Meany one but thats only because I have seen the film that was based on that book about 10 times as my girls love it!

marthamoo · 14/12/2003 21:51

Pops, if we really get this up and running you can pick a different book when your turn comes round again!

fairydust · 14/12/2003 21:51

3gm what's the film

3GirlsMum · 14/12/2003 21:52

The film is Simon Birch and a little weepy it made me to

fairydust · 14/12/2003 21:53

is it about a child with a disablity???

3GirlsMum · 14/12/2003 21:55

Yikes dont want to go into it too much in case people want to read the book. Basically its about a boy who is very small for his age and he kills his best friends mum and it goes on from there.

popsycal · 14/12/2003 21:55

simon birch is NOTHING compared to the book - the ending is wrong...fine til half way through then WRONG!!!!!!!
getting mad...........................

OP posts:
fairydust · 14/12/2003 21:56

so then

popsycal · 14/12/2003 21:56

it is so not to do with disabilites....
it is more twists inthe plot...trying to work out what happens....
the finer details of the plot are only circu,stantial......
it is not about these thing
IYKWIM

OP posts:
popsycal · 14/12/2003 21:57

3GirlsMum · 14/12/2003 22:00

That one looks very "deep", is that the word..lol..but at the same time brilliant. Has excellent reviews.

popsycal · 14/12/2003 22:01
